Abstract

The objectives of this research were to determine: 1) the effect of cassava leaves silage addition in feed based on palm oil waste to digestibility of crude fiber and crude protein; 2) the effect of cassava leave silages and micro organic mineral addition in feed based on palm oil waste to digestibility of crude fiber and crude protein. The research was conducted in Mei—July 2016 in the Cattle and Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Livestock, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD). Treatment used are R0 control diet, R1 addition of 10% cassava leaves silage, R2 addition of 10% of cassava leaves silage and micro organic mineral (Zn 40 ppm, Cu 10 ppm, Se 0,10 ppm, Cr 0,30 ppm).  Data were analyzed by Analysis of Varians and continued with Least Significant Difference Test (LSD) 0.05 and 0.01.  The result showed that the addition of 10% cassava leaves silage in feed based on palm oil waste no giving a significant result (P<0.05) to digestibility of crude fiber, where as significant effect on crude protein. The addition of 10% cassava leaves silage and micro organic mineral in feed based on palm oil waste also giving a significant result (P<0.05) to digestibility of crude fiber and crude protein. Keywords: Cassava Leaves Silage, Micro Organic Mineral, Palm Oil Waste, Digestibility

Abstract

The purpose of study is to know that physical quality of milk from Crossbreed Ettawa goats lactation period I—IV, those were organoleptic test, specific gravity test, and pH test in Sungai Langka Village Gedong Tataan Subdistrict Pesawaran District. This research was conducted method of purposive sampling with goat milk sampling as much as 250 ml on each lactation period I--IV and livestock recording data using questionnaire. Steps in this study begin from sampling through the milking process on each 15 Crossbreed Ettawa goats, followed by organoleptic test, specific gravity test, and pH test. The results of research, showed that quality milk which include organoleptic test in 1st lactation--4th lactation were color (white to yellowish white; white to yellowish white; white to yellowish white; and white yellowish), odor (Unpleasant to savory; Unpleasant to savory; Unpleasant to savory; savory), consistency (thin to slightly thickened; very thin to slightly thickened; thin to slightly thickened; and somewhat lumpy), taste (very bad to awful; very uncomfortable until a little tastier; very bad to awful; and tasty), receptivity (do not like to like; do not like to like; do not like to like; and like). pH test in 1st lactation--4th lactation that is 6,60; 6,59; 6,62; 6,54. Specific gravity test in 1st lactation--4th lactation that is 1,0480; 1,0533; 1,0531; 1,0525.  Keywords : Physical Quality of Milk, Lactation Period I--IV, Crossbreed Ettawa, Sungai Langka Village

Abstract

This research was conducted in Juli-Agustus 2016 at layer farm in Sumber Sari, Taman Sari Village of Gedong Tataan District, Pesawaran Regency and Laboratory of Nutrition and Food Livestock, Animal Husbandry Departmen, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung.  This research aims to study 1) the effect of using feed additive on feed for performances; 2) optimum doses of feed additive in feed layer.  This research used Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments added feed additive with a dose of (0; 0,15; 0,25; and 0,35%), 5 replications, there were 20 experiment unit and each unit consists of 1 chicken. Material used in this research was 20 chickens strain of isa brown the age 48 weeks.  The conclude that addition of feed additive with a doses of 0; 0,15; 0,25; 0,35% on feed influence insignificantly (P>0.05) to the performances (feed consumption, feed convertion, egg weight, hen-day, and income over feed cost (IOFC)) layer and not found optimum doses. Keywords: Feed Additive, Doses, Layer , Performance
