Abstract

The aims of the research were finding the differencesin the production of tuber potatoes and detecting Potato Virus Y on various tuber generation from Banjarnegara Regency using Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) test. This research was conducted in two stages. The first stage wasa survey and an interview on potato breeders in Banjarnegara district of Central Java province. The second stageis ELISA test in the Laboratory of Plant Breeding and Biotechnology, Agricultural Faculty, the University of Jenderal Soedirman, North Purwokerto, Purwokerto, Central Java. ELISAkit was obtained from Agdia. Inc Elkhar tIndiana, United States. Tubers of potatoes,Granola variety and Atlantic variety were obtained from potato breeders in Banjarnegara Regency. Survey and interview were conducted at seven seed breeders by asking questions about the process for producing potato tubers. ELISA test was performed on 1 g tuber/sample. Antigen wasextracted from the sample using 10 ml General Extract Buffer/sample. Then 100 ml solution of antigen was transfered into ELISA wells and incubated for 2 hours. After incubation the antigen solution was removed from the wells. Then the wells were washed using Phosphate Buffer Saline Tween (PBST) seven times. 100 ml enzyme conjugate was added/well and incubated for 2 hours. Enzyme conjugate solution was removed and washed using PBST eight times. Substratep-Nitrophenyl was added as much as 100 ml/well and incubated for 60 minutes. The result was read using a micro plate reader at 405 nm wave length.The results showed that, the way potato cultivation in order to produced seed varieties Granola and Atlantic using a screen house and aeroponics method were of effective way for produced free Potato Virus Y tubers. Results of tests using ELISA against Granola varieties and  Atlantic of seed potatoes from  six breeders in Banjarnegara Regency showed that, seed potato varieties Granola G4 from breeder Trubus contained of Potato Virus Y.Keyword: Tuber potatoes, Potato Virus Y, ELISA

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of onion extract and media towards growth mucuna cuttings, as well as whether there is interaction between the two factors. This research was conducted in Krueng itam village Tadu Raya Sub-District, Nagan Raya regency from  1 July to 4 September 2012. This research used randomized block design (RBD) factorial design with three replications. The factor of this researchare concentration of extract  onion and plant medium. Onion extract consists of 5 levels concentration 0 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml, 15 ml and 20 ml per liter of water. Plant medium (soil: manure) consists of three levels 2: 1, 3: 1 and 4: 1. The results showed that concentrations of the extracts of onion geve significant effect against the number of roots of mucuna age 60 HST,significant effect against shoot on 40 and 60 after day plant  andnot significant against the number of shoots. The best of growth cuttingfound at 15 ml concentration  of onion extract per liter of water. The plant medium effected was  not significant on  high shoots towards 40 and 60 after day plant, amount of mucuna shoots and number of roots  on 60 after day plant. Therewas asignificant interaction between extract of onions and plant media againstthe root length of mucuna. The best length of root found at concentrations of 10 ml of onion extract per liter water,plant media with 2:1(soil: manure). Keywords : Onion extract, vegetative, medium, mucuna

Abstract

Shade is one of the obstaclesin the cultivation of soybean crops in intercropping systems. This study aims to determine the change in the characters of agronomic and morpho-physiological leaves of soybean plants due to shade. This research was conducted at the experimental farm of Agriculture Faculty, Teuku Umar University Meulaboh in West Aceh, from August to November 2013. This study uses split plot design with three replications where separated sub plot (vareities: Anjasmoro, Kipas Merah Bireun, Grobogan, Burangrang, Sinabung, Kaba) nested in the mainplot (shade: without shade, 25% and 50% shade). The results showed that the shade and varieties very significant effected on changes in production characters except 100-seed weight. While the interaction shade and varieties very significant effect on changes in production characters except variables 100-seed weight. Keywords : Intercropping, soybean, shading , varieties, yield

Abstract

The aims the research were to know the influence of age and number of planting seed/hole towards the growth and yield of rice plants, as well as real whether the interaction of both of these factors. The research was arranged by Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial with 3 replicates. Treatment of replanting are : 10, 15, 20 and 25 after germination. The number of seeds are: 1, 2, and 3 seeds/hole. The research was conducted in Gampong Blang Baro sub-district of Kuala District Nagan Raya from January 10-May 08 2014. The results showed the replanting gave significant effect of the planlet number at 15 and 45 day after planting (DAP), significant of long panicles. Not significant on high of plant at 15, 30and 45 DAP, number of plantlets per clump at 30 DAP, flowering age and the number of plantlets per clump, high productive plants when harvesting, the number of panicle, pithy grain percentage, the percentage of empty grain, weights 100 grain, dried grain per plot and production yield per acre. The amount of seed gave significant effect against number of planlets at 15 DAP, not significant against plant at 15, 30 and 45 DAP, number of plantlets per clump age 30 and 45 DAP, flowering age and the number of plantlets per clump, high productive plants when harvesting, the number of panicle productive, panicles, pithy and hollow grain percentage, weight of dried grain per plot and production per acre. There is a very real interaction between age and total seedling planting move per planting hole against number of planlets at 15 DAP 100 grain weight and grain. Keywords : replanting, count of seed, growth and production of rice plant

Abstract

Food security is the principal problem in most countries in the world. One of the efforts to build food security of families through land use lawns that are beneficial in supporting the family in addition to nutritional needs at once to beauty (aesthetics) when optimally managed and planned. Land can be developed as an area of the Kawasan Rumah Pangan Lestari (KRPL). This activity is conducted in Gampong Ujong Tanoh darat and Gampong Pasi Aceh Baroh Sub-district Meureubo, Aceh Barat. The selection of the location based on the consideration that location most of the inhabitants are farmers. The second reason is expected to give direct benefits of the existence of the Agriculture Faculty Of Teuku Umar University in the middle of the community. The third reason is to expect the gampong can become Small-scale Agriculture Faculty Of Teuku Umar University. The outer achievedare KRPL product andnursery. The outer of services are the achievement of self-reliance and material management of the farming community. The implementation of the activities carried out have been completed, KRPL vertikultur model, nursery, outreach to the community, and technical guidance to the community gampong. The success rate of the program was can be known the desire ofcommunity especially the housewife, prevail in their house by making use of the potential of the existing yards, though not exactly the same as the model that is applied. Keyword: Food Security, KRPL, Land, Vertikultur

Abstract

Red Ginger (Zingiber officinale var. Rubrum) requested for the purposes of herbal medicine, industrial medicine and flavoring in both the domestic and export abroad. Development of ginger in wide scale with the optimal cultivation system so that its productivity increases can be made in intensifying planting materials by submersion use ZPT Atonik. This research aims to know the influence of concentration and long soaking in the ZPT Atonik against growth of Red ginger. This research was carried out at the experimental of Agriculture Facultyof Teuku UmarUniversity Aceh Barat. The material used is a local clone of Red ginger seeds from the village of Kuala Manyeu, Nagan Raya, ZPT Atonik, cow dung, manure polybags size 45x35 cm, pesticide Furadan and Dithane, as well as basic fertilizer (urea, KCl and SP-36). The experimental design used in this study was a randomized Design Group (RAK) factorial pattern 3 x 3 with 3 replicates. Factors examined are the concentration of ZPT Atonik consists of 3 levels i.e. without ZPT, 2 ml. l-1, and 4 ml. l-1 and long soaking consists of 3 levels, namely 10 minutes, 30 minutes and 50 seconds. The parameters observed were higher plants, the number of shoots per clump of leaves, the number and length of the leaf. Data analysis with her rangeand conducted further trials BNT on levels 5% if there is a noticeable influence. The results showed that there is no interaction between concentration and long soaking in the ZPT Atonik against all the parameters were observed. The best red ginger growth found on the concentration of ZPT Atonik 2 ml. l-1. The best red ginger growth is in long soaking treatment that is 10 minutes. Keywords: Red ginger, concentration, long soaking, ZPT Atonik.

Abstract

Acidic dry land generally has poor chemical elements, such as high Al content, low organic matter content, low nutrient content, especially N, P, K, Ca, and Mg, and low pH. This study was conducted to assess the effect of organic matter on soil chemical elements on dry land in the district Ingin Jaya, Aceh Besar. This research using randomized block design (RBD) non factorial with three replications. The factors that studied are organic materials include: compost (B1), manure (B2), and green manure (B3). The results showed that added of compost, manure, and green manure with a dose of 20 tons per hectare is very significantly increased P-available, significantly increasing the pH and C organic, and the effect is not significant to the CEC, N-total. The highest content of P-available, pH, and C-Organic are found in the treatment of organic compost.Keywords: Acidic dry land, organic matter, soil chemical properties.

Abstract

The aims of the research were determine the effect of the growth and production towards varieties of peanut plants on peat. The research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) pattern of non factorial with four replications. The factor is variety consist of Bison, Naga Umbang, Jerapah, Domba and Gajah. This research was conducted at the experimental field on Teuku Umar University, Meulaboh, Aceh Barat, from April 23 to August 29 2012. The varieties gave very significant effect on the number of branches on 15, 30 and 45 days after planting (DAP), percentage of pods pithy and hollow, are weight of 100 dry seeds. No effect on plant height at 15, 30 and 45 DAP, the number of branches on 15 DAP, one the weight of dry peas. The best growth and yield of peanut found on Jerapah variety and Naga Umbang variety. Keywords: varieties, peatland, peanuts

Abstract

This research was carried out in the village of Seuneubok subdistrict of West Aceh Regency Hero Johan, starting from 2 may until 7 September 2012. The purpose of the study is to know the influence of concentration and time interval of granting POC sea horse star appropriate towards growth and production plants of Eggplant. The seeds are used in this research are the seeds of Eggplant varieties Bungo F1, cow manure, Urea fertilizer, SP-36 and KCl as a basic fertilizer, and POC sea horse stars. This study used a Randomized Design Group (RAK) factorial pattern 3 x 4 with 3 Deuteronomy, there are two factors that are examined, namely the concentration factor consists of 4 levels, namely 0 1 cc/liter cc/liter water, water, water cc/liter, 3 5 cc/liter and water, and the granting of time interval consists of 3 levels of fertilizer that is 10 days, 20 days , and 30 days. Theobserved parameters include high plant at the age of 20, 30 and 40 HST, the diameter of the base of the stem at the age of 20, 30 and 40 HST, number of leaves at the age of 20, 30, and 40 HST, the number and weight of fruit is the fruit of Eggplant are calculated at the time of harvest. The results showed that concentrations of POC sea horse star very real effect against all the parameters of growth and production plants of Eggplant is observed. Growth and production of the best Eggplant plants found at a concentration of treatment 3 cc/liter of water. Time interval of granting POC sea horse Star very real effect against all the independent growth and production plants of Eggplant is observed. Best Eggplant cropproduction, namely the granting of time interval of fertilizer treatment 10 days and 20 days. Keyword : Eggplant, POC Sea Horse Star, Time Interval

Abstract

Mangroves act as a filter to reduce the adverse effects of major environmental changes, and as a food source for marine life (Beach) and terrestrial biota. The Tsunami disaster of 2004 have resulted in changes in landforms such as mangrove forests. The damage of mangrove forests and then aggravated it again with pressure and increase the number of   resulted in any change land use and natural resource utilization. Mangrove management, should involve all components of the stakeholders which includes the role of Government, local institutions and communities. The purpose of this research was to assess the management of mangroves in the coastal area conservation efforts are integrated through the role of local governments in terms of planning, utilization, control, maintenance, surveillance, and law enforcement in Aceh Jaya Regency. This research includes the types of descriptive research with qualitative approach by describing the strategic role of pemerintahdaerah in the management of mangrove in the Aceh Jaya Regency. Based on the results of the study can be obtained that a summary of the factors facing the Government in the management of mangrove areas include factors financing became a major factor in the realization of program management of mangrove areas, the occurrence of farmed land expansion (neuheun), expansion of the area of the settlements, the lack of human resources so as to affect the economic conditions of the community. System management of mangrove area should preferably be done through a bottom up approach and done in sitematis starts from perencenaan stage, utilization, control, maintenance, supervision and law enforcement. Key words: the role of Government, revitalizing, mangrove management
