Abstract

The use of waste oil palm empty Fruit bunches (OPEFB) is rapidly increasing.OPEFB Fiber are potential to be made engineering product especially innovative products. The  innovative products can be used for technical component cases, especially products which have lifespan, durability, easily designed, recyclable, corrosion resistant, and heat absorbent as well as economical.The aims of this research was the effect of impact loads for innovative products manufacturing Parking Bumper polymeric foam material. The impact was tested by using free fall Impact testing device and Impact Test Specimens were done by using ASTM D1621-00.The result parking bumper design in simulation showed the stress value of 0.13 MPa. For trapezium type.  which Force is provided for 4425 N, the dimension of the parking bumper 250 x 200 x 130 (mm). Simulations performed using Ansys workbench 12.1., the result of mechanical properties showed the second composition with the variation of the fall height was not close enough. This indicate that the second composition (Blowing Agent 15%, 70% Resin, Fiber 10%, Catalyst 5%) for parking bumper product would become more accurate and perfect.Keywords: waste (OPEFB), innovative products, parking bumper, free fall impact testing device

Abstract

The process of ice crusher bars in the shredder ice used in the fish market building efforts in Meulaboh is not optimal anymore work given that there are parts of the engine components that are no good in this case can also be seen from at least the production of ice produced at less than 24 kg / min, and based on the observations of the author of the engine sound is also louder and the machine is not standard anymore. Starting from the problem, the purpose of this planning the authors feel the need to plan the re-shredder ice blocks into better and more efficient work. in general usually machine consists of three main parts that work. Wherein the third part is the driver, the successor system power (power transmission) and the driven part. The initial step in planning is to conduct market surveys of business building in the city of Meulaboh. The next step is to plan and calculate the component elements of the machine, planning and calculation performed on the shaft, pulley-belt and bearing on tools that have been designed. The final step in the planning process is made by evaluating the results of calculations performed. Abstract

Which more lower deficit of fossil energy for generated power plant, in order to need to do wind power generation plant analysis based on renewable energy which is wind turbine horizontal type. This study is analyzing a power system with electric power load for Teuku Umar University by using a hybrid power generation system which HOMER between wind turbines and diesel generators. Wind resources are used is measured by BMKG Meulaboh Station, which is 6 m/s. The results of the simulation is given by the value of the Net Present Cost (NPC) and the lowest, in the amount of $43,686,940, Cost of Energy (COE) is 16.993 $/kWh for the value of Renewable Factor (RF) was 40% and for the value of Renewable Factor (RF), the largest at 58%, the value of the Net Present Cost (NPC) amounted to $ 68,091,256 and Cost of Energy (COE) is 16.993 $/kWh. Abstract

Plastics are polymers long chains of atoms that bind to each other. This chain form many repetitive molecular units, or "monomers". Plastics are formed from organic condensation or addition polymers and may also comprise other substances to improve performance or economics. Judging from the nature of the plastic that is composed of constituent components of petroleum hydrocarbons, the plastic waste has the potential to be converted into fuel. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of time and temperature on the quality of oil products from the pyrolysis process PP and LDPE plastic waste. The technique used to restore the plastic material is by breaking the carbon chains or polymers that become hydrocarbons. And for the decomposition technique to be used is the method of pyrolysis. Pyrolysis is a process of decomposition of the material at high temperatures in the absence of air or with air is limited. Decomposition of the pyrolysis process is also often referred to devolatilization. The main products of pyrolysis can be produced are charcoal (char), oil, and gas. On pyrolysis occurs tool decomposition process of organic compounds on the materials. This decomposition caused by the heating process without directly related to the air with little oxygen. Results of testing tools to test materials for a type of plastic LDPE (low-density polyethylen) at temperatures of 246 0C combustion chamber, reactor temperature 114 0C, 94 0C temperature of the first condenser and the second condenser temperature 61 0C with a duration of 57 minutes burning oil expenditures occur. At 345 0C temperature in the combustion chamber, the reactor temperature 113 0C, 99 0C temperature in condenser I, temperature 63 0C in condenser II with the duration of 93 minutes burning of oil does not produce. With the test material for plastic types PP (Polypropylene) at temperatures of 239 0C combustion chamber, reactor temperature 114 0C, 94 0C temperature of the first condenser and the second condenser temperature 57 0C with a duration of 42 minutes burning oil expenditures occur. At 330 0C temperature in the combustion chamber, the reactor temperature 121 0C, 105 0C temperature in condenser I, 59 0C temperature in condenser II with the duration of 99 minutes burning of oil does not produce.   Keywords: Waste plastic, temperature, pyrolysis oil, Testing

Abstract

The case studies in the field, especially in the districts of Aceh Barat, if the shaft has been used fracture, then largely reconnected by means of welded, through welding without considering the type of groove welds suitable for welded joints pivot, so that its power will be lower and the life of the shaft becomes shorter. This study aims to determine the type of groove welds suitable for metal welding carbon steels are used and sold in the market town of Meulaboh, and estimate the maximum load permitted to work on the shaft so that the expected life of the shaft becomes longer, and see the pattern of fractures that occur on the surface shaft. Testing is done for 3 specimens a double groove welds V, 3 specimens double groove U and without welds 6 specimens in accordance with ASTM E-466. The results showed that specimens with a double weld groove U have a better fatigue strength compared with the double-groove weld V. fatigue limit (endurance limit) 85.83 MPa carbon steel. The pattern of the specimen surface faulting on the double U groove weld area deformed by the signs of the beach (beach mark) towards the center of the surface of the specimen (weld center) fracture pattern on the specimen surface area double V groove welds undergo large deformations on the outskirts of surface spesimen. Abstract

The capacity of energy storage and temperature storage has come into consideration in choosing thermal energy storage system. Absorbed or released material either big or small can be determined by finding the value of the specific heat (Cp) and the latent heat fusion (HL). The selection of materials suitable for Phase Change Materials (PCM) latent heat storage system is the most difficult but the most important thing. The determination of specific heat (Cp), latent heat (H) and thermal conductivity (k) of the PCM is very important in order to assess its performance for the process of developing a good and superior PCM. with a lot of bee-wax materials which is in the district of Aceh Besar province of Aceh, the bee-wax materials of this need to be investigated for long-term goals as a PCM. In this study, T-history method is used to determine of specific heat (Cp), latent heat (H) and thermal conductivity (k) of the bee-wax materials. The results of calculations using the T-History for bee-wax materials obtained Cps at 0,03 KJ/Kg.K ; Cp,l at 3,45 KJ/Kg.K ; Hm at 307,15 KJ/Kg ; k at 0,262 W/mK. Based on these data, the bee-wax in Aceh Besar district can be used as a Phase Change Materials (PCM). Keywords : bee-wax materials, T-history method, specific heat, latent heat, thermal conductivity

Abstract

The results of the simulation is given by the value of the Net Present Cost (NPC) and the lowest, in the amount of $ 66,535,084 for the value of Renewable Factor (RF) was 58% and for the value of Renewable Factor (RF), the largest at 71%, the value of the Net Present Cost (NPC) amounted to $ 68,091,256. Abstract

The west coast of Aceh region is an area that is passed directly to the Indian Ocean, the Malacca Strait and the Gulf of Bengal. The tsunami that Aceh in December 2004 has led to the greater part of the coastal region of Aceh, including the region of Aceh Barat and Nagan Raya merged in seawater and the impact on the destruction of the environment around the coast. This condition causes the infrastructure in tsunami affected area becomes more susceptible to corrosion attack. This condition is exacerbated by the fact that the Aceh region is an area that is prone to earthquakes that have corroded infrastructure can suddenly collapsed during the earthquake occurred at a smaller scale. This study aims to look at the effect on the rate of corrosion of structural steel in the region of Aceh Barat and Nagan Raya. This research is done on location Peunaga Pasi For West Aceh region and village Kubang Gajah To Nagan Raya area. Testing methods to lose weight with the exposure time period of five months. The results showed that the corrosion rate of the highest value for western Aceh region ranged from 0.74 to 4.29 mpy and to Nagan Raya ranged from 0.85 to 2.61 mpy. For all types of steel in this region the level of corrosion rate is still relatively low. Keyword : Atmospheric Corrosion, Steel Construction, Corrosion rate.
