Abstract

Grounding system takes a very important role in the electricity and electronics device  protection system. The system is used for releasing current disturbance to the ground method. The smaller value of grounding system will give better system. In the certain ground, grounding resistance value is influenced by the depth and distance within the electrodes. The goal of this research is to find the characteristic of rod electrode grounding resistance and design computation method to calculate rod electrode resistance by changing its values and finally it can be used for the protection devices system reference. This research uses three point method to inject AC current into the electrode under test and a current probe and will give a potential between the earth electrode and the potential electrode, so the value of grounding resistance can be found. The result of the analysis indicates that the value of grounding resistance will be smaller when the deep of the planting, the amount of the rod electrode  buried and the distance of it are added. The decrease of grounding resistance value will be effective to 75 cm in deep and 300 cm in distance. While planting of rod electrode is deeper more than 75 cm and more 300 cm in distance not effective, because it can reduce the value of grounding resistance which does not have any mean. Therefore,  to get the small value of grounding resistance effectively, it is advised to add the amount of the electrode which is planted parallely. With the rod electrode installed before. However, it is important to notice when making the grounding system is the resistivity value of small and great of the ground  where the stability of grounding resistance is mounted. Finally, in planting grounding electrode it is important to have the geology data of the ground where the system applied.

Abstract

One method  for energy transfer wireless is magnetic induction couplings. In general, copper is the most important element in producing magnetic flux in the form of coils or coils. Copper is used as an electrical transfer media because the material consists of many electrons that can move freely. Magnetic coupling simulation with Multisim 12.00 shows that the transmitter coil induces a receiver coil and energy transfer occurs.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country where many residents have livestock. Starting from raising chickens, ducks, goats and cows. In the care of chicks, special care is needed, because newborn chicks are vulnerable to disease, thus inhibiting the rate of growth. The problem that is often faced by breeders is the temperature conditions that exist in the cage only by entering the temperature detector into the cage, and adjust the heater manually. For this reason, microcontroller-based chicks incubators are made. This tool is expected to help the chicken farmers to check the temperature conditions in the cage and can adjust the heater automatically to maintain the temperature stability of the incubator room. To regulate the temperature in the cage to remain stable by turning on, dimming and turning off lights and fans automatically, so that in the growth of chicks are not susceptible to disease due to instability of the cage's temperature. By using the dht11 sensor as a temperature and humidity detector, this tool can be used for three types of Doc chicks namely broiler chickens, broilers & native chickens, in turn. From several tests that have been carried out this tool has managed to stabilize the temperature of the cage by 75% and the average success of using chicks by 80% that survive.

Abstract

This study compares 2 controllers, the On-Off controller and the PID-Simulated Annealing which is a PID control whose parameters are tuned using the simulated annealing method. Both methods are applied to the incubator accompanied by 3 disturbances in the form of variations in the outside air temperature which affect the temperature inside the incubator. The performance of the two controllers is calculated using the Integral Time Absolute Error (ITAE) criteria. The results showed that the average ITAE between On-Off and PID-Simulated Annealing controls was 534,925 and 1,894. These results it can be concluded that the PID-Simulated Annealing control is the most effective control in regulating the temperature of the air inside the incubator and can maintain the air temperature from interference due to outside air temperatures.

Abstract

In this discussion the modeling of a transmission system consisting of multiple machine. To maintain transient stability and reduce the oscillation of the system SVC and PSS are used. In its operation, the electric power system often experiences short circuit, both permanent and temporary. The short circuit interruption can cause deviations in electric power system variables, such as voltage, frequency, and others. This deviation can affect the stability of the electric power system. Stability in an electric power system is defined as the ability of an electric power system to maintain synchronization during interruptions as well as after disruptions occur.PSS performance is expanding the stability limits of the electric power system by providing synchronous engine rotor oscillation reduction through generator excitation. This damping is provided by the electric torque applied to the rotor in accordance with variations in speed.With Matlab/Simulink, we can examine the role of PSS and SVC in the process of reducing oscillations, changes in rotor angle and engine speed. PSS and SVC can do the damping process quickly from disturbance to stable conditions.

Abstract

The purpose of research was to determine the condition of the power flow (active and reactive power), the voltage of each channel (bus) under normal operating conditions, and the power loss (losses) of each bus at the Block 1 PLTGU PT. PJB Gresik Generating Unit. The method used to analyze the power flow is Forward Backward Sweep by forming a BIBC and BCBV matrix, where the results of the analysis will be compared with the results of the simulation. From the results of comparison of calculations and simulation of power flow obtained active power (P) of 1% and reactive power (Q) of 1.76%. The biggest voltage drop on bus 5 is 7% and is a critical bus condition, because the voltage drop is ± 5% of the nominal voltage. The largest value of power losses is on bus 4 with an active power of 1.14% and a reactive power of 0.5%. Whereas for other bus conditions such as bus 2 including marginal bus conditions, bus 3 with bus 6 are critical bus conditions, because each bus has a voltage drop of ± 5% of nominal voltage.

Abstract

The wind diesel system is greatly influenced by the wind speed and which is then combined with the diesel engine. Optimization of wind-diesel systems is needed to get good frequency quality and optimal power. The optimal setting of the gain and time constant on the Load Frequency Control (LFC) causes the frequency stability to be weak. In practice, the wind-diesel system is controlled by a PID controller and Fuzzy Logic Controller. At present the gain value setting of the PID is still in the conventional method, so it is difficult to get the optimal value. In this study the control design is applied by using the Smart Method in finding the optimum Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) based on Bat Algorithm (BA). For comparison, the method is used without a control method, conventional PID method, PID auto tune matlab method, PID-BA method, and PID-BA-ANFIS. Wind-diesel modeling uses the transfer function of wind turbine and diesel diagrams. From the results of research that has been done shows that the smallest undershoot on PID-BA-ANFIS, the smallest overshot on PID-BA-ANFIS, and the fastest settling time is equal to PID-BA-ANFIS. This research can later be continued using other artificial intelligence methods.

Abstract

Study of the stability of the power system as an important and complex problem in the operation of a power system that is safe from the power system when there are small or large disruptions in the connected power system. This discussion studies load flow and stability analysis while a multi-machine power system with ETAP software.Single diagram system multi-engine system 9-bus system configured in ETAP. For  each multi-machine power system power flow and power flow analysis have been provided a complete tool in ETAP.The results of the load flow data are presented for each case. For the transient stability analysis, the system is simulated with three phase disturbance to earth and single phase interference in ETAP. The combination of AVR, Governor, and PSS maintains synchronization during all types of errors. Variations in rotor angle, bus voltage, and engine speed were studied in each case study. Simulation results are shown through graphical analysis. In the ETAP simulation study explains that the application of PSS can substantially improve the transient stability of the power system.
