Abstract

Efforts to realize the performance of SOEs is a very urgent requirement. This is related to the state ministry in Indonesia stakeholder‟s strategic plan 2012-2014. One important element in achieving this is improving the Quality Planning, Human Resources and Financial Management that can act as a surveillance tool as well as performance drivers. Therefore, through this study has explored: (1) the quality of work life, such as career plane, (2) organizational citizenship behavior, such as work ethic issues, and (3) employee engagement, such as remuneration policy issues. The research was conducted by applying a survey of 429 people Associate Manager at 141 state-owned enterprises in Indonesia. Data was collected by indirect communication techniques through instruments such as questionnaires and interview techniques through limited direct communication and documentation study. The study was conducted from January 2011, which ended December 31, 2012. The data processing techniques with descriptive analysis, the weighted mean score and inferential analysis of the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that: (1) Quality of work life, organizational citizenship behavior, employee engagement in SOEs in Indonesia showed a good condition, but not optimal, (2) quality of working life and organizational citizenship behaviors have a positive and significant effect on state employee engagement in Indonesia. The implications of this research, requiring hard work of the managers at levels 1 and 2 under the above directors and executive managers, to accommodate the interests of the manager as agent, and as the principal stakeholder‟s interests. Requires wisdom and policy decisions to implement the system of participation button up and participation from the top down. Keywords: quality of work life, employee engagement

Abstract

as one of the business engaged in the service has a requirement to ensure the service quality that directly or indirectly affect consumers. “BI”Hotel is always trying to provide the best service quality. This can be realized if the employee provides services earnest. According to the expectancy theory argues that the actions of employees who tend to do because of the  hope that the results will be obtained, the optimal service quality is achieved when employees are committed and feel satisfied with their work. This study aims to determine the direct effect  of significant variables of job satisfaction and organizational commitment to service quality “BI” Hotel. Results showed that job satisfaction is directly significant effect onorganizational commitment, job satisfaction is directly significant effect on theservice quality, organizational commitment directly significant effect on theservice quality. The implications of this study thatthe match between workload and salary is very important to note in order to maintain employee commitment to the company. Job satisfaction will increase employee loyalty to the company and the willingness of employees to provide the best service quality so that consumers feel satisfied.Keywords: job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and service quality.

Abstract

The measurement of consumer’s satisfaction level can be assigned by comparing the important level of factor with the satisfaction of the attribute. The aim of this study to compare the important and satisfaction of attribute from the tenant’s dormitory X. Population of this study are the students who become a tenant of dormitory. Samples of 105 tenants were choosen by non probability sampling technique. Result showed that primary factor in evaluating the service quality are maintain cleanliness at the public space (q1), tables and chairs neatly organized at the public space (q2) and the capability of building management staff keep the good atmosphere for rest and study. These three factor as a primary considerations and being attraction for the tenants.Keywords: Service Quality, Consumer Satisfaction, Importance Factors

Abstract

Financial report is an important factor for inventors to make investment decision in capital market. Publicly financial report which has relevant information will be reacted by market player. Many investors and other users of financial report do not pay attention to the process of publishing financial report, so it pushes the emergence of dysfunctional behaviours like earning management practices.The research aims to analyze the difference of market reaction between:1) earning management companies and non-earning management companies; 2) income-decreasing discretionary accruals companies and income-increasing discretionary accruals companies.Population of this research is 130 manufactured companies listed in JSX during 2009-2010. Using convenience sampling method, 49 companies were taken to become final samples for each period. The result with two independent samples test Kruskal Walles χ (sign 5%) shows that there was no difference of market reaction between earning management companies and non-earning management companies (χ 0,58989 dan 0,03137), and neither was there between income-decreasing discretionary accruals companies and income-increasing discretionary accruals companies (χ 0,735 dan 2,82767).Keywords : Earning Management, Market Reaction.

Abstract

This study examines the transmission channels of oil and food price shocks to selected Indonesian macroeconomic variables including Indonesia industrial production index, world interest rate, inflation, domestic interest rate, real effective exchange rate, and Jakarta Composite Index using monthly data over the period 2001M01-2013M08. An empirical analysis is carried out by utilizing structural vector autoregressive (SVAR) framework. Impulse response functions (IRFs) and forecast variance decompositions (FEVDs) are employed to track the impact of oil and food price shock to Indonesian economy. The empirical findings of IRFs suggest that oil price shock negatively affects industrial production, depreciates real effective exchange rate, increases inflation and interest rate, and negatively affects aset price. However, following food price shocks, industrial production increases, depreciates real effective exchange rate, increase stock return. Moreover, inflation and interest rate respond positively following food price shocks. The FEVDs results clearly reveals that the variation in industrial production growth, inflation, interest rate, real effective exchange rate, and aset price due to oil price shock is relatively larger than the food price shocks. This implies that oil price is most important source of disturbances in Indonesian macroeconomy. As a whole, this study recommend that world oil and food price should be considered for policy analysis and forecasting an Indonesian macroeconomy.Key Words : Oil and food price shocks, SVAR, IRFs, FEVDs, Indonesia

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to formulate promotion strategy for start-up business. In order to get comprehensive and deeper understanding this study uses qualitative approach. There are three categories of informant namely competitors, consumers, and expert. In depth interview and observation are used in collecting important data. Validity come from triangulation technique and data is analyzed by Miles and Huberman method. This study shows that there are five strategies for promotion namely social media, photography, discount, endorse, and website. Finally, attending exhibition is very important for this business in order to get many customers.Key words:promotion, strategy, start-up business, social media
