Abstract

Lagrange Multipliers are a mathematical tool for constrained optimization of differentiable functions. The given procedure defines the Lagrangean Method for identifying the stationary points of optimization problems with equality constraints; L (ℷ, X) = f(X) – ℷg(X – C). This function is called the Lagrangean function and the parameters ℷ is the Lagrange Multipliers. The partial derivatives of this equation ∂L/∂ℷ = 0 and ∂L/∂X = 0 will give the optimal result for X.However, in some cases, sometimes we have been facing some difficulties to solve nonlinear programming problem with this method, therefore we would like to introduce the Substitution Method or Microsoft Excel Method, which is simple, easier and faster to solve the nonlinear programming problem. Because of the mathematical nature of nonlinear programming models, and in management science we do not have a single general technique to solve all mathematical models that can arise in practice, therefore simpler approaches should be explored first. In some cases, a “common sense” solution may be reached through simple observations.

Abstract

Quality is one of the important things variables when we produce any product. That’s why we need to establish a quality inspection to support our production. This research is about quality control in PT CreativindoPromocipta. Quality control need to establish from the very first step of production till the product delivered to our customer. From this research, we could find out that each company having their own quality standard, so it’s generally makes a different quality control policy in the same industry. PT CreativindoPromocipta using 100% inspection for their quality control strategy’s, along 2006 we found that, there is product which having bad quality, so this company needs to refresh their policy. From this research too we could conclude that PT CreativindoPromocipta needs to applied 100% inspection policy from the very beginning of production process to maximize product quality. Key Words: Level of defected product, Inspection, Quality Control

Abstract

In order to establish, University with International standard need to develop a Research College. In research college concept’s, we need to increase library as a media to transfer information that we need. Library should be able to provide a trigger for the research activity. Knowledge management could be used to increase creativity of the librarian to develop library concept. The result of this research was to find out that, portal is realization of knowledge management. In the future, the libraries with knowledge management basis need to be improved. If we have a good quality library, we will also improve the university’s quality.The application of knowledge management system will useless if system ignored by the community. So we need to motivated the community to use this system.Key words: Research, Library, Knowledge Management System

Abstract

Project is an activity using our resources. A success project needs to have a good plan, including for the schedule, budget, and raw material use by this project. Project management need to establish by project manager who responsibility with the project. A project manager has to manage the project with a great calculation.This research tried to find out, the application of PERT method at PT. SINERGI CIPTA KARYA. The result of the research is the company need to establish another way or strategy to create a plan with a minimize cost. PT. Abstract

This research discussed about investing concept and how the investor construct optimum portfolio. The concept of the most optimum portfolio consists of how to earn highest return with lowest risk. Basically, this research try to found out how to construct optimum portfolio with combination of three common stocks from LQ 45 based on data from September 2005 till September 2006. To protects investment fund, investor looking for hedge asset. Hedge asset chosen in this research is mutual fund, this research also want to investigation which the most safety combination to protect investor’s fund. Abstract

One of the most important things in production activity is how to manage a raw material requirement level in economics level to support production planning activities. An established company usually uses Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method to provide an effective management system of material requirement to minimize inventory cost. This research found out that, PT Unison Jaya needs to use Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method to minimize the inventory cost. When PT Unison Jaya decided to use Material Requirement Planning (MRP)method, they need to support their system in to computerize system and held on the job training for the production staff to use this method.Key words: Lot Sizing, Inventory Cost, MRP
