Abstract

Zinc and copper are micronutrients that are the factors that support microalgae growth rate besides macronutrients, CO2, temperature, salinity, and pH. Growth of Nannochlopsis sp was observed to determine the influence of the addition of Zn and Cu concentration. Microalgae cultivation was located outdoors on the semi-mass scale using 800 L medium on mesophilic condition in 3 treatments with the addition of 1 ppm, 3 ppm, and 5 ppm concentrations of Zn and Cu metals. Cells density was calculated using a hemocytometer, and the absorbed metal content was measured by AAS. The study aimed to test the growth response of Nannochloropsis sp cells to Zn and Cu metals. The growth rate of microalgae was observed for the addition of Zn and Cu concentration in the cultivation medium. The result showed the highest Nannochloropsis sp growth rate for Zn addition was 0.053/day and for Cu addition was 0.279/day. Between Zn and Cu addition, the highest growth rate was observed in the addition of 1 ppm Cu metal (Cu1) which was equal to 0.279/day. This shows that adding micronutrients are not automatically will increase the growth rate of microalgae as well.

Abstract

Operational limitations are the main problem in monitoring 3.31 million hectares of mangrove forest areas throughout Indonesia. However, with the disruption of technology, there are currently many approaches and methods that can be adapted to answer these problems. One of them is drone technology. This technology can be utilized in high-resolution rapid mapping for limited areas. The output from the data acquired by the drone can be analyzed for various purposes, including assessing the health condition of the vegetation. In this study, the results of the acquisition of unmanned aircraft on mangrove vegetation are used to determine the health level of vegetation in mangrove conservation areas. The research was conducted on 46 hectares of mangrove conservation area. The acquisition process was divided into four flying missions with a flight height of 150 m, 80% patching, and using the Hasselblad L1D-20c camera with a 1-inch sensor. The acquisition results are processed using the online photogrammetry method through the cloud-based photogrammetry service from DroneDeploy. Processing uses standard mode, where this mode is designed to produce good image quality with a relatively fast processing time. The acquisition results of 1614 photos were 100% successfully aligned, with 3.50 cm/px GSD resolution. Based on the application of the VARI algorithm to the resulting orthophoto, it is known that 30.2692% of the AOI is an area and/or dead or non-vegetated vegetation. Then 59.3887% is vegetation in an unhealthy condition, 10.3405% is considered as vegetation in healthy condition, and 0.0015% is vegetation in very healthy condition.

Abstract

Transmission of Escherichia coli in food can occur through contact with infected workers, as well as tools and materials used during food processing. One way to determine the presence of E.coli in processed fish balls is to perform a bacteriological test. The purpose of this study was to detect the presence or absence of bacteria in fish balls so that it can be seen whether these meatballs are in the hygienic category and are suitable for consumption or not. This type of research is a laboratory experiment. This research was conducted at the Maluku Provincial Health Laboratory on 26-28 January 2022. The sample used in this study was fish balls taken by purposive sampling (taken according to research needs) for laboratory testing. Based on the results above, it shows that the E.coli bacteria found in the meatball samples during the phenotyping test with Vitek 2 compact both at a dilution of 10-1 to 10-3 were not identified because they had not passed the maximum limit. Based on the results obtained, it was found that the fish balls made by service participants in Mamala country were still in accordance with the criteria of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) No.7388:2009 regarding the maximum limit of E.coli bacterial contamination in processed meat products made by the government for the protection of consumers regarding the quality of the product in circulation and declared to meet the requirements for the maximum threshold of microbial contamination in food if the value is 3/g for the status fit for consumption. The condition of the value of the test results of the fish balls sample under study is due to the fact that food makers or processors when processing fish balls still use the correct sanitation and hygiene principles and according to procedures.

Abstract

The purposive of this study, namely to find out how much and what are the sources of income for traditional fishermen's families in Belang District, and the expenses of traditional fishermen's families in Belang District. The Method used in this research is a survey method. The populations in this study are traditional fishermen in Belang District. The sampling method is using a quataed Multi-Stages Purposive Sampling, with the number of sample villages being 15 villages and the sample fishermen taken are fishermen with fishing rods and nets as much as 10% of the total population in each sample village. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The standard of living of traditional fishing families is analyzed using the Engel index. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the income of traditional fishermen's families in Belang District comes from their main job as fishermen, side jobs outside the field of fisheries. The total incomes of traditional fishermen's families in Belang District on average for one year is Rp.53.394.000. There are two types of expenditures for traditional fishermen's families in Belang District, namely expenditures for food and expenditures for non-food such as clothing, housing, health, education, electricity, transportation and others. The total average expenditure for one year is Rp. 53.394.000, which is divided into expenditures for food needs of Rp. 32.284.500 and expenditures for non-food needs, which are Rp. 21.109.500. The results of the analysis of the Engel index are 60.46%, used to meet food needs only. The proportion for food, which is 39.54%. This is indicates that the standard of living of traditional fishermen in Belang District is still relatively low because more than half of their income is only sufficient to meet food needs.
