Abstract

Sukapura Village, located in Bandung Regency, has a Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) program that includes various activities, such as the production of cassava chips. Currently, there is a high demand for cassava chips that cannot be met. Through analysis conducted by the community service team, it has been determined that the demand for cassava chips exceeds the production capacity. One of the contributing factors is the manual process involved in making cassava chips, which takes a relatively long time. One specific manual process is the mixing of cassava chips with dry seasoning. The cassava chips are placed in a container, and then dry spices are added. The mixing process is carried out by hand, ensuring that the spices are evenly distributed throughout the cassava chips. This manual process typically takes around 10-14 minutes for every 1.5 kg of cassava chips. To address this issue and improve efficiency, the community service team has designed and constructed a machine specifically for mixing dry seasoning. With this machine, the mixing process is significantly more efficient, taking less than 5 minutes to achieve optimal results. As a result, the time efficiency and productivity of the mixing process have greatly increased.

Abstract

Pait Village, located in Kasembon Sub-district of Malang Regency, is a village with high natural tourism potential. However, the allure of tourism in Pait Village, which is located in a green area and surrounded by rivers and waterfalls, still lacks development. Carrying the main mission to increase the tourism potential in Pait Village, the community service team will develop a water tourism design in the form of a multifunctional fishpond. This fishpond will solve the problem of water surplus due to agricultural land runoff. In addition, this pond can be an alternative source of animal protein for residents and an integrated water tourism location in the Kasembon Area. The implementation method carried out in this program is to analyze the needs of the Pait village integrated Master Plan design with a community participatory model. The results of the Pait Village water tourism master plan design are in the form of a 3D mockup of water tourism and a cultivation pond that can be used as an amphitheater along with the regional expenditure budget plan (RAB).

Abstract

Poultry concentrate feed is predominantly produced by animal feed factories in Indonesia. Unfortunately, the selling price of concentrates has been steadily increasing, causing difficulties for poultry farmers in maintaining their businesses. Indonesia, being an agricultural country, possesses a wealth of agricultural products. The abundance of agricultural products, coupled with significant amounts of agricultural waste from by-products, can be processed and utilized as animal feed. In order to address this issue, a service activity was conducted in Suru Village, Doko District, Blitar Regency. The objective was to provide socialization and training on utilizing agricultural waste, which is abundant in Suru Village, as an alternative feed for poultry livestock. The approach employed involved socializing the activities to farmers, addressing the challenges faced by partners, and providing counseling and direct assistance. The counseling sessions focused on the types of agricultural waste readily available in Suru Village that can be utilized in poultry feed, as well as training on formulating simple rations. As a result of this activity, breeders were able to utilize rice bran, an agricultural waste product, as an alternative feed, thereby reducing the cost of expensive commercial feeds. By substituting rice bran in feed formulations for commercial concentrates, farmers were able to save Rp410,000 per 100 kg of purchased feed.

Abstract

Assistance with a hydroponic cultivation theme towards strengthening the self-reliant economy of Sukoreno Village is a manifestation of awareness in contributing to the development of a more modern agricultural system and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within the community. The partners for this activity are 10 members of the Sukoreno Village Youth Organization ("karang taruna"). The implementation method consists of three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. During the planning stage, the situation and potential of the Sukoreno Village community are analyzed. In the implementation phase, seminars are conducted to provide information and invite the local youth organization and village government officials to practice farming using hydroponic systems, which are more space-saving, environmentally friendly, and practical to maintain. This aims to raise awareness among the community that farmers do not always have to rely on large plots of land. Evaluation involves regular checks on the hydroponic growing media in the village's greenhouse. Based on the monitoring and assistance activities conducted by our group members, the cultivated plants have thrived and become assets for the village's youth organization. Furthermore, some residents have shown interest in practicing hydroponics in their own homes. This activity can be further expanded on a larger scale within the Sukoreno Village area.

Abstract

Sajen Village, in Pacet District, Mojokerto, already has a Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) that is primarily involved in the management of livestock and agricultural products because has village treasury land. Farms with cows and goats are administered by cooperatives of farmers. Even though there is always a livestock supervisor on guard, one of the farm locations closest to the village hall uses makeshift lighting and has a low level of security. This is due to the limited electrical energy which is still sourced from the village hall. In addition, human resources in Sajen village also need to improve their soft skills and hard skills to develop the village and keep abreast of current issues. This initiated the idea of building an independent power plant in the livestock area as a useful energy source for village lighting and security. Off-grid system was built in the livestock area and has been successfully utilized to supply energy for the lighting and security sector in the livestock area. Off-grid systems refer to energy sources that are different from those used by the state power utility. Solar power plant also contributes a percentage of clean energy use in village areas and can be a pilot for further development.
