Abstract

Women are still often imaged positively by the authorities in the public sphere. This can be seen from some of the elements contained in the images, including in the text "Dear Sweet Wife / Mother wearing the left lane" on banner safety riding ads. The prominence of the term 'WIFE' and the term 'MOM' instead shows the passive position of women who are only positioned as 'silent' subjects to wait for their partner to return. But in this case, the rules of traffic order become the representation of the symbolic phallus. This study uses a qualitative method which in the study of cultural studies is described by Paul Willis as a model of reflexive methodology, where the emphasis lies in theoretical awareness and interest, to reach the depth of 'reality'. The results emphasize that the image of women remains served as a passive subject and tend to be obedient to all transcendent rules. So, it is not excessive if in the end, this image also represents an inferiority in women. However, it really directs, herds, and encourages its viewers to always bring their own narcissistic desires. The woman in the image has been mythical, and soon she becomes part of the banality in the spaces of society.

Abstract

Text book is one of important instruments in successful learning. Ministry of Education and Culture published standard textbook. Readability?s textbook must compatible with student?s capability and psychology. Fry?s graph is the best readability measuring tool for textbook. Aim of this research is to descibe readability?s Indonesian textbooks of Junior and Senior High School curriculum 2013 published by Ministry of Education and Cultural 2014. The kind of this research is literature study. The data collection used documentation technique. The result of this reseach is (1) the readability of Indonesian textbook for seventh grader is not suitable for target student because 20 of 33 texts is not suitable for seventh grader student based on Fry?s graph, (2) the readability of Indonesian textbook for eighth grader is suitable for target student because 17 of 22 texts is suitable for eighth grader student based on Fry?s graph, (3) the readability of Indonesian textbook for tenth grader is not suitable for target student because 18 of 23 texts is not suitable for tenth grader student based on Fry?s graph, (4) the readability of Indonesian textbook for eleventh grader first semester is not suitable for target student because 9 of 10 texts is not suitable for eleventh grader student based on Fry?s graph, and (5) the readability of Indonesian textbook for eleventh grader second semester curriculum 2013 is not suitable for target student because 14 of 22 texts is not suitable for seventh grader student based on Fry?s graph.

Abstract

Indonesian is a multicultural nation-state, consisting of different ethnicities, races, traditions, religions and cultures. However, the difference is a form of diversity that complement each other, thus enriching the repertoire of Indonesian culture. Although the Indonesian people are multicultural, but can live side by side, mutual respect, mutual respect, and mutual tolerance, so that people can live in peace and happiness regardless of ethnic, racial, cultural, and religious differences. Multiculturalism contains three basic principles, namely tolerance, equality, and equality of rights for other cultural groups. In the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta and Bumi Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy many reflect multicultural in Islamic perspective, meaning that in the novel many depicted activity, behavior, and speech language that reflect multicultural characters related to Islamic teachings. Although they are different nation, race, culture, and religion, they can live side by side, mutual respect, mutual tolerance, and help each other for those who need help regardless of difference, ethnicity, race, culture and religion. They help for the sake of their love for Allah to keep the commandments of Allah SWT.

Abstract

This study aims to find laternatif way to improve society?s reading prolicity, particularly for school members, as a solution to overcome the low of reading. The reading prolicity has a great influence to the progress of the nation-state. Compare to the neighbor country, Indonesian reading prolicity is still low. It is a key to boost the progress because the capability of science and technology can be achieved through reading skills. Family, society, and educational institution have significant role in improving reading skills. It is responsible for all elements of society like librarian, teachers, parents, and society itselves. Librarian and teachers have direct responsible in improving that. To deal with that, it is good to give stimulant in gaining the reading tradition. The reading force is not effective for students. It is also unrecognized to force student to buy books.

Abstract

This paper discusses the adoption of several phonological processes in Indonesian words into Ciacia in Buton, Southeast Sulawesi province. Ciacia language which is one of the languages with the most speakers in mainland Buton Kingdom in its development are adopting some Indonesian words. Adoption of words in Indonesian as compared to most other areas of the language word. This is due to ethnic mixing Ciacia just used both languages in daily life. In adopting Indonesian words into Ciacia many who have phonological processes. Phonological processes are most commonly found is the addition and removal of noise at the end of the word. The word has been adopted into the language Ciacia always be words with open syllables. This is caused by the language Ciacia unknown words with closed syllables.
