Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the Kejawen occult, which includes the sources of the occult, the teachings, practices that are still practiced to this day along with the dangers in the lives of Javanese people and believers. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method aimed at describing, describing facts, phenomena regarding the Occult Kejawen in Javanese society. The results showed that Kejawen was practiced by ancestors in Java who believed in the existence of spirit or natural forces and lived side by side with them. This Kejawen is passed down to the next generation and is preserved as a hereditary tradition in Javanese society, consciously or unconsciously starting when they are still in the womb. Kejawen itself is a combination or mixture of beliefs and rituals of formal religions with worship of nature. The researcher concludes that the occult is still practiced in people's lives in Java today, namely kejawen, which is binding starting from pregnancy, birth, marriage, spirituality, life, to death. The danger of practicing the occult is that the perpetrator will experience some nervous breakdowns, be physically tormented, depressed and even die spiritually. The Bible records the characteristics of occult actors, namely their faith is twisted, full of deceit, enemies of the truth, always turning God's way (Acts 13:10) full of all kinds of tyranny, greed, corruption, envy, murder, strife, wickedness (Rm. 1:29). Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the impact of nowadays sermons on congregations’ faith growth in Gereja Kristen Indonesia (GKI) Pondok Indah. The analysis was carried out within the scope of GKI Pondok Indah as a Protestant church. This research used a qualitative approach with the content analysis method. The observation was made by watching the rebroadcast of GKI Pondok Indah Sunday Services through the youtube platform, starting from 7 March to 4 April 2021 services. The sermon delivered at GKI Pondok Indah will be linked to research studies related to preaching and their impact on faith growth based on the supporting literature. The result of this research shows that sermon can increase faith growth because the sermon is meant to be a way to reveal God’s word in the life of believers so they can acknowledge the Bible’s truth, encourage them to do the right things, encourage them to change their perspectives of life, and encourage them to change their behaviour at last. This research concluded that sermons delivered at Gereja Kristen Indonesia Pondok Indah show an impact of nowadays preaching on congregations’ faith growth because fulfilled the four indicators that the researcher found. Abstract

This research aims to reveal about the politicization of religion in DKI Jakarta election from a Christian perspective. Indonesia, a country that is diverse, religious, and has God, must carry out its identity in politics. The implication of Indonesia as a country that is diverse, religious, and godly is the proliferation of political parties with religious ideologies along with various efforts to politicize religion. A study must be conducted to break the vicious circle that threatens the welfare and pluralism of the Indonesian nation, because the politicization of religion is the root of the problem. One of the cases of politicization of religion in Indonesia is the DKI Jakarta Pilkada. The method study of the politicization of religion uses a qualitative approach by collecting literature review data. The politicization of religion in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada was found to have brought politics further away from ideal conditions such as achieving harmony, justice, and prosperity. The results of the study show that politics and religion cannot be separated, in fact if the relationship between politics and religion is in the right position, it can create ideal and perfect conditions. The conclusion that can be conveyed is that politics will remain a dark world even though it has been filled with good values, so that the important role of believers is very real in the political world, because only believers are able to provide light to achieve perfect ideal conditions in politics. . Abstract

Science and religion are interesting topics to discuss, because science and religion are often contradicted in the history of their development to date. The purpose of this research is to look at the position of science and religion by reaffirming the truth of religion, especially the Bible as the Word of God towards science. The research method used is a qualitative method with a systematic literature study using the approach of Ian G. Barbour and John F. Hought. Barbour's approach relates science and religion to four types of conflict, independent, dialogue, and integration relationships, while Hought uses four types of conflict, contrast, contact, and confirmation relationships. Based on Barbour and Hought's approach, it can be resulted that science has limitations so that religion must still be the umbrella of science, so that this confirms the truth of religion towards science. Conclusion of this research can be an enlightenment in the midst of different views regarding the creation of the universe according to the views of science and religion through the approach of Barbour and Hought who are scientists as well as theologians so that it can be seen more objectively. The Bible must still be believed to be the highest truth in the midst of the progress of scientific development. Keywords: Affirmation, Science, Truth, Religion

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to help people with special needs to be able to interpret words properly and correctly. Talking about children with special needs is very interesting, there are many things we can learn, we observe and we can do for them. Our attention to them is very meaningful and needed, especially for parents of children with special needs.Every development is something that parents of children with special needs look forward to, many efforts are made to stimulate their children. Not a few parents choose music as a means of stimulus. The introduction of musical instruments and regular practice is an effort and a vehicle for the development of their children. The method used is qualitative by mapping and sorting based on attention in research. Results obtained, the saxophone instrument is one of the many musical instruments that can stimulate children with special needs.Blowing and trying to sound it while practicing the saxophone can help children with special needs to be able to feel the changes in loud and soft sounds.This process can help children with special needs interpret hard and soft words. The conclusion that can be expressed is that the habit of blowing on the saxophone makes people with special needs can feel the blowing pressure with the resulting sound, which is loud and soft.
