Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) memetakan praktik guru dalam mengukur kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS), (2) mengevaluasi langkah pengembangan instrumen, (3) menilai kelayakan instrumen melalui validitas dan reliabilitas, serta (4) menggambarkan tingkat HOTS pada mata pelajaran Ekonomi kelas XI di SMA Negeri Sub Rayon V Klaten. Penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model Borg & Gall yang dimodifikasi. Perumusan butir mengikuti tahapan konseptual yang menekankan penjabaran indikator HOTS dan penyusunan stimulus kontekstual. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 155 siswa kelas XI IPA. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes; validasi isi dilakukan oleh pakar menggunakan analisis Aiken’s V, dan analisis butir dilakukan dengan Iteman 3.00. Hasil menunjukkan: (1) guru pada umumnya belum melaksanakan pengukuran HOTS secara sistematis; (2) tahapan pengembangan mencakup studi pendahuluan, perencanaan, pengembangan produk awal, uji coba awal, revisi, uji coba akhir, dan finalisasi; (3) terbentuk 16 butir yang dinyatakan valid berdasarkan penilaian pakar, dengan koefisien reliabilitas Alpha sebesar 0,796 (tinggi); (4) tingkat HOTS siswa pada mata pelajaran Ekonomi berada pada kategori sedang. Temuan menegaskan perlunya penguatan kapasitas guru dalam asesmen HOTS dan perluasan bank soal berbasis konteks agar pengukuran lebih akurat serta berkontribusi pada perbaikan pembelajaran.   Design and feasibility of a grade XI Economics HOTS test using a modified Borg & Gall Model   Abstract: This study aims to: (1) map teachers’ practices in measuring Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), (2) evaluate the steps of instrument development, (3) determine instrument feasibility through validity and reliability, and (4) describe HOTS levels in Grade XI Economics at state senior high schools in Sub-Rayon V, Klaten. A modified Borg and Gall development model was employed. Item construction emphasized the articulation of HOTS indicators and context-rich stimuli. Participants were 155 Grade XI science-track students. Data were collected through a test; content validity was established by experts using Aiken’s V, and item analyses were conducted with Iteman 3.00. Results indicate that: (1) teachers generally have not implemented systematic HOTS assessment; (2) the development cycle comprised preliminary study, planning, initial product development, pilot testing, revision, final testing, and finalization; (3) the resulting instrument contains 16 expert-validated items with an Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.796 (high); and (4) students’ HOTS in Economics fell within the moderate category. These findings highlight the need to strengthen teachers’ assessment capacity and to expand a context-based item bank so that HOTS measurement becomes more accurate and meaningfully informs instructional improvement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) memetakan bahan ajar yang digunakan guru pada tema Hidup Bersih dan Sehat di SD Negeri Klodangan, Berbah, Sleman; (2) mengembangkan bahan ajar cetak tematik berbasis buku kerja yang layak; dan (3) menguji efektivitasnya terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas II. Penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model 4D (define, design, develop, disseminate). Data kebutuhan dikumpulkan melalui telaah dokumen dan wawancara guru. Kelayakan produk dinilai melalui validasi ahli materi dan media. Efektivitas diuji menggunakan paired sample t-test terhadap skor pratindakan dan pascatindakan. Hasil menunjukkan guru belum menggunakan bahan ajar cetak tematik berbasis buku kerja pada tema tersebut. Produk yang dikembangkan memuat ringkasan materi, latihan kontekstual bertingkat, lembar kerja, dan umpan balik mandiri; dinyatakan sangat layak oleh ahli materi dan media. Uji efektivitas menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan dengan p value = 0,000 (p < 0,05). Temuan menegaskan bahwa bahan ajar cetak tematik berbasis buku kerja dapat mendukung keterlibatan siswa dan pencapaian kompetensi pada tema Hidup Bersih dan Sehat. Rekomendasi mencakup perluasan cakupan materi lintas subtema serta pendampingan implementasi agar keberterimaan dan dampak pembelajaran semakin merata.   Workbook-based thematic teaching materials on Clean and Healthy Living: A 4D R&D Study in elementary school   Abstract: This study aimed to: (1) map the teaching materials used by teachers for the Clean and Healthy Living theme at SD Negeri Klodangan, Berbah, Sleman; (2) develop workbook-based thematic print materials meeting feasibility standards; and (3) test their effectiveness on second-grade learning outcomes. A research and development design employed the 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). Needs analysis drew on document review and teacher interviews. Product feasibility was established through expert validation in content and media. Effectiveness was examined using a paired sample t-test comparing pre- and post-test scores. Results indicate that teachers had not previously used workbook-based thematic print materials for this theme. The developed product includes concise content summaries, scaffolded contextual exercises, worksheets, and self-feedback; expert judgments rated the materials highly feasible. The effectiveness test showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes with p value = 0.000 (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that workbook-based thematic print materials can enhance student engagement and achievement in the Clean and Healthy Living theme. Future work should broaden sub-theme coverage and provide implementation support to ensure consistent acceptance and impact across classrooms.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEM di Sekolah Dasar. Studi menggunakan desain kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi kelas, dan studi dokumentasi (perangkat pembelajaran, arsip alumni, dan data siswa). Keabsahan data diperiksa dengan triangulasi sumber dan metode. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif-naratif: pencatatan lapangan, pembacaan berulang, pencocokan antarsumber, dan penyajian temuan yang berfokus pada praktik pembelajaran berbasis STEM. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa implementasi STEM di kelas VI dilaksanakan pada beberapa topik dengan perencanaan yang mendahului pelaksanaan, meliputi pemilihan masalah kontekstual, penyiapan alat dan bahan, skenario integrasi sains–teknologi–rekayasa–matematika, serta penetapan indikator capaian. Pelaksanaan diawali stimulus (cerita/bacaan terkait konsep), diikuti eksplorasi, perancangan solusi, pengujian sederhana, dan refleksi kelas. Peran guru terlihat pada orkestrasi diskusi, fasilitasi inquiry, dan umpan balik formatif. Kendala utama mencakup keterbatasan waktu, variasi kesiapan siswa, serta ketersediaan sumber/alat. Implikasi menekankan pentingnya perencanaan rinci, kurasi masalah autentik, manajemen sumber belajar, dan penguatan kompetensi guru agar pembelajaran STEM konsisten mendorong keterlibatan dan penalaran ilmiah siswa. Temuan ini memberikan gambaran implementasi yang dapat direplikasi dan ditingkatkan di konteks SD serupa.   Planning and enactment of the STEM approach in elementary education: Descriptive findings from classroom practice   Abstract: This study describes the implementation of a STEM approach in elementary education. A qualitative descriptive design was employed. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis (lesson plans, alumni records, and student data). Data credibility was ensured via triangulation of sources and methods. Analysis followed a descriptive–narrative procedure: field note compilation, iterative reading, cross-checking across sources, and thematic reporting focused on STEM-based classroom practice. Findings indicate that Grade-Six implementation occurred across several topics and was preceded by explicit planning, including selection of contextual problems, preparation of materials and tools, scenarios for integrating science–technology–engineering–mathematics, and clear learning indicators. Enactment began with a teacher-provided stimulus (story/text), followed by exploration, solution design, simple testing, and whole-class reflection. Teacher roles centered on orchestrating discussion, facilitating inquiry, and providing formative feedback. Key constraints involved limited time, heterogeneous student readiness, and resource availability. Implications highlight the need for detailed planning, curation of authentic problems, management of learning resources, and targeted teacher capacity building so that STEM lessons consistently foster engagement and scientific reasoning. The study offers a replicable picture of implementation and areas for improvement for similar elementary school contexts.
