Abstract

This paper aims to examine the political practice of symbol in the arena of local politics in Indonesia, by taking the focus on how the symbol is interpreted and used for various purposes, as a phenomenon that occurs in Fakfak (a Small town in West Papua). Based on qualitative data gathered from in-depth interviews and the results of observation field in Fakfak during the period 2012 to 20013, discovered three things that can be explained in this paper, first, the propaganda about The Furnace Three Stone as a symbol of harmony and peace in Fakfak, was accompanied the process of manipulation of symbols to various political interests of power. Second, the process of manipulating the symbols carried by mastering the control of the authority of interpretation and meaning (meaning regime) and conquered the power of civil society and local leaders to eliminate their critical reasoning. Third, this study shows that a political symbol at a certain level can create harmony and social stability, as evident from the low conflictual events in Fakfak. But socially, the politicization of the symbol will turn off the philosophical ideal values to be displayed and built through the symbol. Longer-term implications are potentially avoid appreciation and tend to gain public sympathy and antipathy deficit of meaning and the people in the future

Abstract

This paper aims to determine the attitude of religiosity in the lives of Orang Basudara. HMI organizationally is a part of Indonesian history always brought peace to overcome suffering together in accordance with the lofty ideals of the Indonesian people as a form of moral responsibility on the order of Indonesian people, especially Orang Basudara which of course starts from himself. It is important for HMI to find the religious identity in the spirit of nationality to spiritual-Indonesia's pluralist. In analyzing the data, the author uses the historical method with qualitative approaches, analytical techniques which use is descriptive. Based on the results of the study concluded that the HMI trip along Orang Basudara since 1957 and has been realizing an inclusive religious attitude and partiality to the unity and togetherness with Orang Basudara. It is not to undermine its identity, but enrich the existence of humanity by accepting and understanding the cultural and religious characteristics that exist

Abstract

Javanese culture and Islam are the two entities that are difficult to be separated. Both meet and create co-existence singkretik so that discussion of Javanese culture can hardly be separated from Islam, including in the political field. The works on Islamic Java continue to emerge, especially in the sociological-anthropological perspective. Since Geertz conduct a study on The Religion of Java, the study continues, either agree with him or who reject it. This paper intentionally taking the starting point of Geertz’s Studieswith concept of trikhotomi. Regardless of excess or weakness Geertz's conception, but it should be underlined that Geertz conception about the Islamic Java much a source of inspiration for the study of Javanese culture and even Indonesia. Even in its development, the conception was brought into the political arena into identity politics. Identity politics is political action to promote the interests of the members of a group have a similar identity or characteristics, whether based on race, ethnicity, gender, or religion. Abstract

The position of Islam in the 21st century global politics, distorted and tremendous pressures. There are two important variables that become steriotip the initiators of anti-Islam. First; the revival of Islam in the context of global politics is to build empires of Islam or Islamic caliphate. Second; Abundant natural resources in the Muslim lands into force of development and progress. Both are a potential threat to the West. This is the root of the birth of global war were then packaged in military-political terms as terrorism or in termteori provocative politics with little scientific terms clash of civilizations. Islamic boarding schools as an educational institution Islamispencetak character clerics in Indonesia, has entered the political arena map-terrorism. Abstract

Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan epistemology Sufi yang meneliti problematika realitas manusia moderen yang cenderung berburu menjadi pemenang, berburu ijabah, berburu karomah, berburu sukses, berburu hebat, dan berebut pencitraan. Apakah ini dampak dari epistemology Eropa yang melahirkan popular culture di era global. Kondisi ini ilmu pengetahuan seperti ini, melahirkan problematika krusial, karena dorongan manusia untuk berupaya menjadi terbaik dengan segala cara dilakukan, sebagai contoh presentasikan oleh para trainer motivation demi mencapai kesuksesan. Dalam paradigm sufi kesuksesan itu semu dan sifatnya sementara, tujuan besar ilmu adalah mewujudkan kesenangan jasmani dan rohani. Realitas popular culture sebagai model hidup lebih mengedepankan potensi materi yang mendorong manusia saling berbenturan untuk menjadi pemenang yang semu. Batasan penelitian adalah bagaimana model epistemology dakwah Sufi untuk mencegah sifat hedonisme manusia yang berpotensi melahirkan generasi Fir‟aunis yang karakter popular culture sebagai hegemoni materi, kekuasaan, dan sexualitas secara berlebihan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif, menggunakan data pustaka dan data lapangan dengan menggunakan metode Densin sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa problem epistemology Eropa yang berkontribusi besar sehingga lahirnya popular culture, yang memberi warna pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan bercorak Fir‟aunis. Solusi yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini adalah signifikansi epistemology Sufi sebagai basis pengembangan teknologi komunikasi. Corak epistemology Sufi terbagi menjadi tiga model yakni epistemology Imani, Islami dan ihsani. Model produksi pengetahuan ini memiliki peran efektif dalam proses reproduksi ilmu melalui proses dzikkrullah proses lahirnya pengetahuan. Epitemologi Sufi sebagai dasar pengembangan epistemology teknologi komunikasi. Ia lebih kontekstual bagi kebutuhan manusia modern di era global

Abstract

This paper discusses Islam in Indonesia before independence which includes the development of Islam before the Dutch colonial period, the Dutch colonial period and during the Japanese occupation. Based on the research literature by using critical analytical methods, found the idea that the development of Islam in Indonesia before the Dutch colonial period through three phases, namely the presence of Muslim traders phase, the phase of the formation of the Islamic empire (1316 AD) and Islam institutionalization phase. The development of Islam in the Dutch colonial period and the occupation of Japan experienced a period of decline tidal namely Islam, a period of national awakening, and the critical period of Islam. During the Japanese occupation, the role of Islam in politics in the country weakened. It was as a result of the challenges of secular nationalism and the suppression of the Netherlands and Japan on suspicion of Muslim political loyalty
