Abstract

This research aims to find out the best composition of brake lining materials from the shell of candlelnut and bamboo fiber through hardness testing and wear and tear of brake lining materials. The method used is direct emphasis using the Universal Testing Machine and Oghosi tools using the High Speed Universal Wear Testing Machine (Type OAT-U) Oghosi tool. Brake lining materials consist of shell powder of candlenut and bamboo fiber and then added aluminum powder and polyester resin with percent of specific composition for each sample. The results of this study were the five samples having lower wear value than the market but only the sample 4 with the composition of 15% of the shell powder of candlenut, 30% bamboo fiber, 15% aluminum powder and 40% polyester resin recommended as alternative material of brake lining because of its hardness close to the hardness of the material of brake lining of the market is 13.5 BHN and its wear is 2,96 x 10-6 mm2 / kg.Key Words: Strong Test of Pressure, Wear of Brush, Bamboo Fiber, Shell Powder of Candlenut, Aluminium Powder, and Resin

Abstract

This research attempts to know the quality of biodisel based on measurements of physics. Using five sample of biodisel  from several species of cooking oil, there are fortune, sedaap, cemara, coconut oil and panah mas. method that performed on this research is by applying the measurement of a density of mass and viscosity. Based on the results obtained  density of mass from sedaap type are 0,8 gr/ml, (fulfill the value standard 0,88 gr/ml), while for other biodisel was not fullfill to the value standard, viscosity discharging 1 times with temperature 40 °C ( 0,0610; 0,0362; 0,0359; 0,0515 and 0,0513). So biodisel sedaap fulfill the ISO standard while the value of viscosity discharging twice not much different from the use of 1 times namely sample biodisel b (sedaap) and the other was not far different with sedaap . Keywords: jelantah oil, biodisel, viscosity, density of mass

Abstract

The research has been carried out under the title of the Making of Nanosilica Gel from Silica of Rice Hulk Ash. This study aims to determine the characteristics of the resulting silica gel and the ratio of moisture content and its adsorbsity with silica gel of the market product is Kiesel Gel 60 GF254. There have been many studies showing that rice husk contains silica of 87-97%. The silica extraction process of the rice husk uses a reflux method extraction process. Meanwhile, the process of making silica nanoparticles using ultrasonic milling method. Ultrasonic milling method is a method to solve particles by utilizing ultrasonic waves which will produce cavitation phenomena. Based on the research, it can be concluded that rice husk used in this research has silica content of 93,46%. The resulting silica gel was divided into three with each different treatment are silica gel without sonication process (TN), silica gel with sonication process for 60 minutes (N 60) and for 120 minutes (N 120). The silica gel has particle size, morphology, elemental content, lattice parameters, crystalline form, crystal phase and different moisture content and adsorption capability. According to the research that has been done, kiesel gel 60 GF254 has water content value and adsorption ability respectively that is 0.045% and 0.1569 gr / ml. Silica gel having water content value and adsorption ability which closest to kiesel gel 60 GF254 are N 60 with moisture value of 0.035% and N 120 with an adsorption capacity of 0.1279 gr / ml. However, silica gel having water content and adsorption ability were TN with moisture value and adsorption ability of 0.2% and 0.2025 gr / ml, respectively.. Key Words: Rice husk, silica, nanosilika, moisture content, adsorption.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the minerals contained in fish bones using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and to find out the values that are relevant to standard values. This study used a test sample in the form of a beam with a length of 30 cm, a width of 10 cm and a height of 15 cm with the composition of fish bone powder varied from 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30%. Make batako with a mix of sand, semen, air and fish bone powder. Based on the results of testing each parameter parameter, analysis of fish mineral minerals using XRD. The yield of fish oil (CaO) content is 65%, zinc (ZnO) 11%, Iron (Fe2O3) 22%, and Cu4O3 2%. While the average value for each parameter in the composition of 10% to 15% is obtained by the compressive strength of 25.21 Kg / cm2 and 40.16 Kg / cm2 (according to the SNI 3-0349-1989 standard class category IV and class III level of solid concrete brick).Keywords: brick, compressive strength, fish bone

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the early characteristics of the chemical waste and characteristic of chemical waste laboratory after mixed and combination with electrocoagulation method, filtration, and tying for metal and tamarin. Waste that processed are the residu waste from AAS testing in chemical instrumentation laboratory, Chemistry Department of UIN Alauddin Makassar. The research results obtained AAS waste before processed having the characteristics on pH parameters are 0.56, COD are 195000 ppm, Mercury (Hg) are 15 ppm, Cadmium (Cd) are 2.79 ppm, Lead (Pb) are 3.49 ppm, and cloudiness of 192 FTU. While AAS waste after mixed and combination with electrocoagulation method, filtration, and and tying for metal and tamarin having the characteristics of pH parameter are 2.76, COD are 20000 ppm, Hg are 0.001 ppm, Cd are 0.002 ppm, Pb are 0.123 ppm, and cloudiness of 662 FTU.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the effect of varying the color of LED light on the  content of carotenoid red spinach and green spinach, and to know what color produces the highest amount of carotenoids, therefore conducted research by giving 3W LED lighting with the brand sunfree lamp for 12 hours at night in open spaces with red, green, yellow and without lights with a distance of about 7cm for red lights, for green lights with a distance of 14 cm and yellow lights with a distance of 23 cm from the surface of spinach. With the intensity of the lamp 180 lux. Spinach used in this study was red spinach and green spinach. The variables measured in this study were the number of spinach leaves measured every week with temperatures ranging from 22-32 °C. Measurements were made every 7 days (every Friday). Based on the results of the activity, it can be concluded that the effect of light coloration on the levels of red spinach carotenoids on green light is very influential because the highest number of carotenoids is 123.11 μmol / L, because green light has the smallest wavelength of 495-570 nm and has the biggest photon energy is 2.17-2.50 eV. Whereas in the past green green spinach has the smallest amount of carotenoids caused by the color equation which makes the pigment or carotenoid small with carotenoid amounts of 68.46 μmol / L.Keywords: Red spinach, green spinach, UV-vis spectrophotometer, light

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the usage method of high voltage tube (kV) with doses and velocity of exposure radiation received by patients during the head checkup and to know the point or safe distance from the radiation sources to the patient and the employee of radiation in the radiology room in Bhayangkara  Hospital Makassar . Measuring Entrasce Skin Exposure using multimeter X-Ray Barracuda, and measuring the velocity of exposure radiation using surveymeter at a distance of 1 m, 2 m, and 3 m from the object .The eksposi factor used at voltage tube 70 kV, 80 kV, 90 kV, 100 kV, 110 kV, and the current of tube 200 mA, 160 mA, 100 mA, 50 mA, 20 mA, and time ekspos used 0,250 s. From this research obtained that using of high voltage tube 110 kV produce low Entrasce Skin Exposure 0,590 mGy and using standard voltage tube (kV) 70 kV produce high Entrasce Skin Exposure 4,188 mGy . And measuring the velocity of exposure radiation produce 2500 µSv/h at a distance  1 m, 2200 µSv/h at a distance 2 m, and 1700 µSv/h  at a distance 3 m, with high voltage tube at 110 kV. And using voltage tube 70 kV produce low velocity of exposure radiation of 115 µSv/h at a distance 1 m, 72 µSv/h at a distance 2 m, and 7 µSv/h at a distance 3 m. Results showing that the more high voltage tube the more few Entrasce Skin Exposure received to the patients but bigger the velocity of exposure radiation for the employee of radiation and the community and the close distances from sources, higher the rate of exposure radiation, and vice versa . For that reason , point / safe distance for the employee of radiation room and the public should be at a distance 5 m from the radiation sources.Keywords : radiation, Entrasce Skin Exposure , velocity of exposure radiation, high voltage

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between light intensity and beam distance as the inverse square law. From the experimental results it was found that the relationship between light intensity with the distance of the beam that is the farther the distance of the beam used, the intensity of the light obtained will be smaller, and vice versa. Abstract

It has been tested the performance comparison between gasoline water pump and LPG water pump machine in order to determine the engine temperature and the water discharge generated by gasoline pump ar engine and LPG fuel pump machine and fuel consumption of used machine the. The results showed that the temperature of the gasoline-fueled water pump and the elpyi-fueled water pump machine were 86oC and 75,33oC for the environmental temperature of 32oC, while at the temperature of 40oC the temperature of the gasoline water pump and the water pump fired elpyi successively is 87,33oC and 79,33oC. Water discharge generated by gasoline engine and gas pump water pump machine in a row is 0,28 m3/s and 0,215 m3/s for environmental temperature 32„aC, whereas at temperature environment 40oC large water discharge produced by gasoline water pump and LPG water pump machine are 0,29 m3/s is and 0,215 m3/s. Is fuel consumption of gasoline water pump machine 150 gram suck water 2,55 m3, while the fuel consumption of LPG-fueled pumping engines amounted to 124 grams of water sucking as much as 2,55 m3. Key Words: Water pump, Engine temperature, Water discharge, Gasoline, LPG.
