Abstract

Due to the share nature of wireless medium, interference is the critic factor for the performance improvement in wireless mesh networks. In this paper, we address topology and traffic has the impact on the interference, and even routing, and the interference consists of two parts. One is topology-related interference. Another is traffic-related interference. In IEEE 802.11 based wireless mesh networks, topology-related interference is come from the hidden nodes, and quantified by the number of hidden nodes. Taking information from CTS frames, traffic-related interference is defined and quantified. With the integration of topology and traffic related interference, an interference-aware routing metric and protocol is proposed. In route selection, the proposed routing protocol selects the route with the least interference as the data transmission path. Simulation results show that the proposed routing protocol outperforms the other two protocols in terms of network throughput and end-to-end delay. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i4.870

Abstract

Technically, electricity business under competition structure is more complex than that of vertically integrated one. The main prolems here are how to create an applicable competition framework and to solve electric calculations very quickly to obtain an optimal energi pricing, cost of losses, congestion and transportation costs by less than 15 minutes. This paper proposes a competition framework with the electric calculations, where  a bilateral contract has been accommodated. Optimal energy price in the paper is calculated based on direct method of economic dispatch to obtain the result very quickly. The proposed method has been simulated to a 4-bus system. The simulation results show that the method works well and complies with the expectation. Abstract

Punctured convolutional codes are known to have low complexity compared to their non-punctured counterpart, while retaining a good performance. Analyzing the performance of punctured convolutional code can be simplified by using non-punctured equivalent code. In this paper new punctured convolutional codes with rates of 3/8, 3/7 and 3/6 are proposed, and their performances are studied by first constructing non-punctured equivalent codes.  Simulation results show that different puncturing patterns will affect the code performances. Further investigations show that puncturing adjacent bits is to be avoided as it tends to degrade the code performance, as indicated by a decrease of the free distance by 9% and 33% below average for code rates 3/7 and 3/6 respectively. On the contrary, dispersed punctured bits will yield good code performance as indicated in the increase of the free distance by 27% and 32.45% above average for code rates 3/7 and 3/6 respectively. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i4.865

Abstract

To improve building energy-saving equipment control gets more and more attention. In order to make the room have a good comfort level, this paper designed a system to control temperature and humidity of variable air volume air conditioning, by a new control method of VAV air conditioning self-adaption decoupling to decouple temperature and humidity, combining the fuzzy PID control and the RBF neural network decoupling control method, improved the control effect that inhibit the coupling of temperature and humidity. Simulation results show that: the neural network decoupling control method has a strong decoupling control capability for the strong coupling lead to control issues like accuracy is not high and the control performance is not good in the multi-variable control system, stable state and dynamic performance have been improved and the control effect of the air-conditioning systems and indoor air quality have improved. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i4.860

Abstract

Artillery plays an irreplaceable role in modern warfare. But due to its huge destructive power, artillery experiment is dangerous and costly. Computer simulation technology uses mathematical models to replace the missile systems and thus avoid accidents and save funds. Based on the trajectory equation model, this paper presents a computer simulation of the projectile distribution. Then, by the simulation results, this paper analyzes each factor’s influence on the fall point’s distribution, as well as the distribution type and distribution parameters.
