Abstract

The optimal layout of stamping blanks is a complicated problem under the control of multi-circumstances, and it cannot be best solved by any single algorithm. In order to solve this problem, the paper proposed a new kind of algorithm combining CHNN and genetic algorithm. It set up models for irregular parts, and these irregular parts were processed by using the surrounding rectangle methods and graphic composition. The paper used AutoCAD as a develop studio, and discussed CHNN and its mapping to layout and optimize the weight of CHNN by genetic algorithm. The kernel program adopted VB program language and developed the intelligent layout system. With the input of layout parts graphics and layout parameter, the system preprocessed graphics and gave layout results automatically. Sample analysis showed the results that the system had good man-machine interfaces, interactive features, high speed and quality retention of solution. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1601

Abstract

Standard FCM algorithm takes the pixel gray-scale information into account only, while ignoring the spatial location of pixels, so the standard FCM algorithm is sensitive to noise. This paper present a pavement image segmentation algorithm based on FCM algorithm using neighborhood information. The presented algorithm introduces neighborhood information into membership function to improve the standard FCM algorithm. It can eliminate noise effectively and retain the boundary information. The experiments by synthetic images and real pavement images show that the presented algorithm in this paper performs more robust to noise than the standard FCM algorithm and retain the boundary information effectively. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1551

Abstract

A novel fault phase selector for double-circuit transmission lines is presented. The fault type is determined with the superimposed components and steady state components of fault voltage. According to the determined fault type, auxiliary criteria based on the magnitude and phase difference of fault phase current is applied to judge whether inter-line fault happens or not. If inter-line fault happens, the fault phase is determined by comprehensive criteria based on the comparison of current magnitude and the judgment of impedance direction. The simulation results verify the correction of the proposed phase selector. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1569

Abstract

To meet with the requirement in virtual rendering, an OpenFlight mesh generation method based on B-Rep model is proposed. The bridge construction method, which is flexible for arbitrary multi-loop regions, are employed on model planes. In order to get the closed parametric region for the curved surface, boolean trimming operations between surface grids and boundary poly-lines are implemented efficiently. Due to the node adjustment method, the mesh nodes on the public border are strictly matched, and no cracks are created on the joint of model boundaries. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm is satisfying in controlling the meshing count of the virtual objects. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1454

Abstract

This paper considers three well know nonlinear Kalman Filters for the tracking of a ballistic target. Extended Kalman Filter (EKF), Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF), and the Cubature Kalman Filter (CKF) are applied for estimating the position, velocity and the ballistic coefficient of the ballistic target. The theory formulation and computer simulation has been done for the comparison of the three nonlinear Kalman Filters. Results show that all of them can accomplish the estimation task, but the UKF and CKF both have higher accuracy and less computation cost than the EKF. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1564

Abstract

In a response to a growing demand for environments of 70dB or less noise levels, many industrial sectors have focused with some form of noise control system. Active noise control (ANC) has proven to be the most effective technology. This paper mainly investigates application of neural network on self-adaptation system in active noise control (ANC). An active silencing control system is made which adopts a motional feedback loudspeaker as not a noise controlling source but a detecting sensor. The working fundamentals and the characteristics of the motional feedback loudspeaker are analyzed in detail. By analyzing each acoustical path, identification based adaptive linear neural network is built. This kind of identifying method can be achieved conveniently. The estimated result of each sound channel matches well with its real sound character, respectively. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1580

Abstract

The increased temperature of the cable insulation with rising load currents, are known to accelerate the formation of water and electric trees in cables which ultimately lead to cables failure. There are several factors which will determine the thermal and electrical behaviour of a given wet cable installation. These include the assumed ampacity, the cable construction and circumstances of installation, the thermal properties of the surrounding soil and the electrical properties. The work presented in this paper involves the use of COMSOL multiphysics finite element software to develop an integrated electrical, thermal model with 5micro meter and 2.5 micro meter water bubble radius. The presence of water tree results in the reduction of their dielectric strength. Here the finite element simulation technique is used to evaluate the electric field, potential and temperature distribution inside the 10 kV and 15 kV power cables. A model that illustrates the water-dielectric interface within the cable insulation system is proposed.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1298

Abstract

In the process of development of some technologies about Ubiquitous computing, the application of embedded intelligent devices is booming. Meanwhile, information security will face more serious threats than before. To improve the security of information terminal’s operation system, this paper analyzed the threats to system’s information security which comes from the abnormal operation by processes, and applied RBAC model into the safety management mechanism of operation system’s kernel. We built an access control model of system’s process, and proposed an implement framework. And the methods of implementation of the model for operation systems were illustrated. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1449

Abstract

A complete vehicle-ballasted track-bridge coupling dynamic model is established. A program to analyze dynamic characteristics is also invented, which is the first time to systematically analyze the dynamic characteristics of vehicles, tracks and bridges when using mats under ballast on the rigid foundation of bridge, in China. The results show that:(1) The mats under ballast are able to reduce vibration of the train and the wheel-rail forces by a certain extent, which increase the comforts of passengers.(2) The mats under ballast are able to reduce the stress of ballast, which has a great practical significance on avoiding ballast powdering and reducing maintenance work of ballast. (3) The mats under ballast are able to reduce the vibration of bridges. It has a great significance on avoiding the lateral flow deformation of ballast under dynamic loads, keeping good track geometry to ensure the safety of operation. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1575
