Abstract

In this paper, software reliability measurement is studied from the perspective of usage profile. Reliability parameters on each usage profile are expressed with unascertained rational numbers. Since failure process of each usage profile can be affected by multiple factors such as software attributes and users imports etc., GEP (gene expression programming) is introduced into software reliability modeling, to study comprehensive force among the factors. Finally, a software reliability GEP model based on usage profile is constructed. With the new model, users can confirm software reliability according to its usage, thus enabling software reliability to a more objective assessment. The new model is experimented to measure reliability of SYS in Musa data, and proved with a satisfactory performance. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1572

Abstract

As the problem of hole-filling in the high-curvature region of the triangular mesh isn’t satisfactory, a new algorithm is proposed. In the mesh subdivision process, judge the mean curvature of the triangles that have a common edge, if the edge in the high curvature area, inserting new vertices in different ways according to the different situations of the edge length to achieve the mesh subdivision. The algorithm can make holes with neighboring mesh transit more natural and the repairing effect is satisfactory by many examples. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1549

Abstract

Collaborative sensing is an important technology in cognitive radio(CR). According to the influence of signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of sensing signal to the result of the detection, this paper discusses a new collaborative algorithm for the spectrum sensing based on SNR. It groups the cognitive users according to the SNR of the signal, and processes the test results of each group using “OR” guideline and “AND” guideline respectively. Finally, combine the results of each group reusing “OR” guideline. Numerical analysis and computer simulations show that the algorithm can improve the credibility of spectrum detection, because it has the characteristics of the detection conclusion of every cognitive user. Compared with the traditional algorithm, the simulation results prove the algorithm is more effective in improving the detection probability. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1567

Abstract

Forest resource is the material basis of forestry production and forestry sustainable development. Mastering the basic status of forest resource provides effective basis for forest resource’s scientific management. Nowadays the concept of “Digital Forestry” is put forward and 3S technology is used in forestry.  Therefore the   embedded system of forest resource information acquisition has been designed which integrated embedded technology with GIS, 3G wireless communication technology and GPS. After analyzing the requirement of forestry resource, the overall structure has been established and the system has been developed by using the advanced demo-board OMAP3530.There are  six functions including system login, data acquisition, data manage, map operation, GPS positioning and navigation, temperature and humidity measuring to enhance working efficiency, reduce power consumption and get real-time data. On the building Qt/Embedded platform, the upper application program interface is designed. Linux system and applications are successful transplanted. Adopting GPS technology, real-time positioning, navigation and latitude and longitude display functions are achieved. At the same time, the collected small class survey data and temperature and humidity data can be saved; the data can be uploaded and downloaded by using 3G module from internet. The embedded system of forest resource information acquisition has been verified in Lianyungang Xinpu district forest of China, which gives a good guide to forestry management. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1662

Abstract

The cost minimization with due dates in cloud computing workflow is an intractable problem. Taking the characteristics in cloud computing of pay-per-use and resource virtualization into account, in this paper, we present a QoS-based hybrid particle swarm optimization (GHPSO) to schedule applications to cloud resources. In GHPSO, crossover and mutation of genetic algorithm is embedded into the particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO), so that it can play a role in the discrete problem, in addition, variability index, changing with the number of iterations, is proposed to ensure that population can have higher global search ability during the early stage of evolution, without the premature phenomenon. A hill climbing algorithm is also introduced into the PSO in order to improve the local search ability and to maintain the diversity of the population. The simulation results show that the GHPSO achieves better performance than standard particle swarm algorithm used in minimize costs within a given execution time. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1452

Abstract

Wide-area communication system is the information exchange supporting platform for wide-area relay protection (WARP), which includes not only visible physical communication equipment and links, but also communication protocols and other upper communication services. WARP communication had become an important issue in WARP practical applications, but it has not been described in IEC 61850 standard. To solve this issue, this paper firstly presents the general steps of WARP modeling according to the layer upon layer modeling methods of the IEC 61850 standard, then proposes a tree structure model of master station and affiliate stations with information interaction model between master station and affiliate stations following IEC 61850 by taking a 220kV smart substation and WARP algorithm based on fault voltage distribution for example, finally establishes a communication model of WARP that includes client/server transfer model, electrical value transmission model and logical status variables transmission model. The fundamental purpose of constructing the communication model is to implement the interoperability between WARP−IED (WARP−Intelligent Electronic Devices) and other IEDs in a smart substation. DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1562

Abstract

At this stage the application server systems, such as e-commerce platform , instant messaging system , enterprise information system and so on, will be led to lose connections , the data latency phenomena because of too much concurrent requests, application server architecture, system architecture, etc. In serious cases, the server is running blocked. The new type of application server system contains four parts: a client program, transfer servers, application servers and databases. Application server is the core of the system. Its performance determines the system’s performance. At the same time the application servers and transfer servers can be designed as the web service open to be used, and they can be achieved as distributed architecture by a number of hardware servers, which can effectively deal with high concurrent client application requests. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1578

Abstract

In order to eliminate the internal condensation of enclosed switchgear cabinet, this paper introduced a subminiature and high-performance dehumidifier based on semiconductor refrigeration technology. This equipment utilized a Fuzzy self-tuning PID intelligent controller to monitor the humidity change in the cabinet continuously and judged the dehumidifier start-stop automatically. Besides, real-time communication with a host computer through RS485 interface was also considered. Experiments showed that this design could effectively reduce the internal humidity, eliminate the condensation, and provide a practical and effective solution to prevent the power device accidents caused by wet and condensation. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1555

Abstract

Since malwares contain stalling codes, malicious behaviors can’t be detected in emulated analysis environment. This paper proposes an approach to detect malicious behaviors by evade stalling codes. First, we executed a malware in the emulated analysis environment, and saved every executed instruction in a trace file; Second, we began to detect stalling codes with the trace file, and constructed stalling code evasive points; At last, we executed the malware again and evade stalling codes with the evasive points, and then the malicious behaviors detected. It has been proven by experiments that the approach can evade stalling codes to detect the later malware behaviors effectively, and improve the performance of detecting the malicious behaviors in the emulated analysis environment. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1573

Abstract

For the search and rescue robot navigation in unknown environment, a bionic self-learning algorithm based on A* and Q-Learning is put forward. The algorithm utilizes the Growing Self-organizing Map (GSOM) to build the environment topology cognitive map. The heuristic search A* algorithm is used the global path planning. When the local environment changes, Q-Learning is used the local path planning. Thereby the robot can obtain the self-learning skill by studying and training like human or animal, and looks for a free path from the initial state to the target state in unknown environment. The theory proves the validity of the method. The simulation result shows the robot obtains the navigation capability. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1605
