Abstract

Modular decomposition is an effective means to achieve a complex system, but that of current part-component-based does not meet the needs of the positive development of the production. Design Structure Matrix(DSM) can simultaneously reflect the sequence, iteration, and feedback information, and express the parallel, sequential, and coupled relationship between DSM elements. This article, a modular decomposition method, named Design Structure Matrix Clustering modularize method, is proposed, concerned procedures are define, based on sorting calculate and clustering analysis of DSM, according to the rules of rows exchanges and columns exchange with the same serial number. The purpose and effectiveness of DSM clustering modularize method are confirmed through case study of assembly and calibration system for the large equipment. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1656

Abstract

An improved charge pump (CP) for phase locked loop (PLL) applications is presented. The proposed charge pump circuitry employs a variable current source in its sink path, which realizes feedback network for calibration. This scheme of charge pump minimizes mismatch between the sourcing current and the sinking current efficiently. The circuit is simulated in 0.18um CMOS technology and the simulation results show that good current matching characteristics can be achieved. The mismatch between the sourcing current and the sinking current can be reduced to less than 0.01% and the range of charge pump output voltage varies from 0.3V to 1.5V.

Abstract

A design of electromagnetic flowmeter with time division dual frequency excitation is proposed. The new design keeps the advantages of zero-point stability of the conventional electromagnetic flowmeter. The immunity to low frequency noise is enhanced, and the dynamic response to the fast change of flow velocity is improved. A prototype flowmeter was made based on the proposed design. The experiment result shows that the prototype flowmeter can measure water flow in a wide velocity range with satisfactory accuracy. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1633

Abstract

In the traditional design, the impact tools of broach maybe unable to achieve the requirements for the processing precision,or even occur the situation of partial fracture due to a exaggerated partial deformation. In this article,by using Pro/E we complete the 3D solid modeling and the dimensional parameterization of the impact tools for rectangle spline broach, then import the 3D model into ANSYS,to analyze and solve the whole process of load and deformation at work.It can effectively improve the machining accuracy and the reliability of broach, shorten the design cycle and reduce cost. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1651

Abstract

There is an unbalanced dimension problem in the existing load separation theory. According to the similar dimensionless theory, this article has obtained the dimensionless load separation theory. It finds out the modified Spb method which can be used to get the J integral resistance curve of ductile materials, which based on the dimensionless load separation theory. At the same time, the original testing software has advanced based on the modified theory in the process of getting fracture toughness of ductile material. The testing software is called J-LSS (J integral-the load separation software). Ultimately, this article provides the J integral resistance curve of pressure vessel material A508-3 steel using the J-LSS. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1694

Abstract

With respect to the problem of big volume, large weight and high power consumption of lunar sampler nowadays, the paper firstly described a novel flexible mini lunar regolith sampler. Then the vibration model of it is established while drilling. The drilling efficiency can be improved more effectively by controlling the lunar regolith sampler always in the resonance state. But the dynamical modeling of the sampler-regolith system is difficult to obtain and time varies when the sampler is in different depth in the lunar regolith. So we present a method of the vibration frequency fuzzy adaptive control based on the dynamic prediction by using the Levenberg-Marquardt Back Propagation (LMBP) neural networks. The LMBP with a FIR filter in series is used to predict the resonant frequency dynamically. And the fuzzy adaptive control is used to calculate the sweeping frequency bandwidth with the input of the amplitude and variation. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1628

Abstract

This paper studies the methods of corner detection of hand gesture, and mainly introduces the orthogonal three-direction chain code (3OT) and uses it in corner detection of hand gesture. The study is discussed from four aspects: the techniques used in corner detection, the techniques of Freeman chain code, the main idea of 3OT, the process of corner detection with 3OT and the experiments on corner detectors used for hand gesture images of 26 letters in American Sign Language are described in detail. Experiment results show that the 3OT has well performance with exact corner detection rate and least false corner’s number. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1646

Abstract

To enable the designers to design and modify model of nuclear channel head quickly and easily, we constructed the CAD system of the nuclear channel head. At first, we analyzed the geometric characteristics of nuclear channel, established of feature control parameter set and the parametric model of nuclear channel head. Secondly, other parameters related to the solid modeling are described through the parameter control set. Thus, the feature solid modeling of head shell surface, nozzle and boss are programmed. Finally, it is proved that the method and development strategy of parametric CAD system is effective by using automatic design example of nuclear channel head which is developed through CAD system of nuclear channel head. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1689

Abstract

With the increasing traffic contradiction between supply and demand, urban traffic problems have become quite complex. Reasons for traffic congestion have become much more diverse. During the construction of urban road project, the surrounding road network will encounter a huge impact, traffic problems therefore emerged. Simulation is an important means for transport impact assessment, which has an important role for construction traffic impact analysis. Accordingly, traffic simulation is particularly important for policy setting and traffic organization. Taking an improvement project of Changjiang rapid road in Zhongshan city for example, this paper used the professional simulation software Vissim to analysis the impact of Qiwan road during the construction project. The simulation and traffic evaluation results can give some forward-looking and targeted measures about traffic safety, traffic organization, road facilities alteration and so on. The traffic impact analysis results shown that traffic safety and high-efficiency transport system must protected by good traffic re-organization projects and the simulation method is an effective mean to actualize traffic impact assessment. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1657

Abstract

Organic Light Emitting Displays (OLED) is a new type of display device which has become increasingly attractive and popular. Due to the complex manufacturing process, various defects may exist on the OLED panel affecting the quality and life of the display panels. These defects have the characteristics of fuzzy boundaries, irregular in shape, low contrast with background and especially, they are mixed with the pixel texture background increasing the difficulty of a rapid recognition. In this paper, we proposed an approach to detect the defects based on the model of independent component analysis (ICA). The ICA model is applied to a perfect OLED image to estimate its corresponding independent components (ICs) and create the de-mixing matrix. Through estimation and determination of a proper ICi row vector of the faultless image, a new de-mixing matrix can be generated which constitutes only uniform information and is then applied to reconstruct the texture background of source OLED images. Through the operation of subtraction of the reconstructed background from the source images and the binary segmentation, the defects can be detected. Based on the algorithms, a defect detection system for the OLED panels was implemented and the testing work was performed in this study. The testing results show that the proposed method is feasible and effective. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1968
