Abstract

In the color system of a computer, the nonlinearity of the image acquisition device and the display device may result in the difference between the colors displayed on the screen and the actual color of objects, which requires for color correction. This paper introduced the Support Vector Regression (SVR) to establish a color correction model for the nonlinear imaging system. In the modeling process, the Successive 3σ Filter was used to eliminate the large errors found in the color measurement. Because the SVR model of RBF kernel has two important parameters (C, γ) that need to be determined, this paper applied Least Mean Squared Test Errors Algorithm to optimize the parameters to get the best SVR model. Compared with quadratic polynomial regression, BP neural network and relevance vector machine, SVR has better performance in color correction and generalization. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3336

Abstract

A lot of complex systems in nature and society can be represented as the form of network. The small-scale subnets topological features are vital to understand the dynamics and function of the networks. Triangles comprised of three nodes are the simplest subnet in the network. Based on the triangle distribution of the complex network, we present a novel approach to detect overlapping community structure in directed networks. Different from previous studies focused on grouping nodes, our method defines communities as groups of links rather than nodes so that nodes naturally belong to more than one community. It can identify a suitable number of overlapping communities without any prior knowledge about the community. We evaluated our approach on several real-networks. Experimental results prove that the algorithm proposed is efficient for detecting overlapping communities in directed networks. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3401

Abstract

Object detection and tracking is an essential preliminary task in event analysis systems (e.g. Visual surveillance).Typically objects are extracted and tagged, forming representative tracks of their activity. Tagging is usually performed by probabilistic data association. However, as data may have been collected at different times or in different locations, it is often impossible to establish such associations in systems capturing disjoint areas. In this case, appearance matching is a valuable aid. This paper proposes a object matching method for multi-camera by combining HOG and block LBP, and computes accuracy rate by SVM. Using independent tracks of 30 different persons, we show that the proposed representation effectively discriminates visual object and that it presents high resilience to incorrect object segmentation and illumination. Experimental results show that the average accuracy DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3418

Abstract

During the operation, the distribution transformer performance will deteriorate. The maintenance is an essential task in enhancing the safety of distribution transformer. Based on equal deterioration theory, the relationship among distribution transformer failure rate in each period of maintenance was deduced. After analyzing the maintenance costs and the failure costs in detail, the model of optimal life cycle costs for distribution transformer was established. Then the genetic algorithm was used to solve the model for obtaining the optimal maintenance strategy. Finally, the optimization results and the influence factors were analyzed. The results demonstrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed method. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3458

Abstract

According to the control requirements of the leaves’ position precision in the multi-leaf collimator, the structure and working principle of the multi-leaf collimator in the conformal radiation therapy apparatus are described. The motor that drives the leaf of the MLC is taken as the control object. The module of the motor has been established. Then the PSO algorithm is used for the parameter optimization of PID controller that outputs the given expectation to the motor, in order to ensure the position accuracy of the MLC leaves. The experimental results indicate that this algorithm can meet the needs of the control precision of the leaves’ position of the multi-leaf collimator, and each control index is obviously superior to the traditional method for PID control. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.2759

Abstract

Mobile communication network has brought us great convenience. However, network security issues are outstanding increasingly. Authentication is the most essential procedure for preventing illegitimate, unauthorized or insecure devices from making access to the network. Tang and Wu proposed an efficient mobile authentication scheme for wireless networks, and claimed the scheme can effectively defend all known attacks to mobile networks including the denial-of-service attack. This paper strengthens the security of the scheme by authenticating the identity of visited location register such that any adversary cannot obtain the communication key between a mobile user and a service provider, or prevent them from establishing this key. An improvement is proposed to remedy these flaws. Our design is a less strong requirement for a mobile user MS in the communication cost than that of Tang and Wu's. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3706

Abstract

Different from Internet networks, DTN has its own unique characteristics, like intermittent connectivity, low data transfer rate, high latency and limited storage and node resources. Routing technology is always the key to DTN research. In this paper, a routing protocol that is PNCMOP was proposed. It makes some improvement of Epidemic routing protocol, and also to decrease the end-to-end average delay and improve delivery ratio, especially with congestion control. Simulation results show that PNCMOP achieved a good performance. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3348

Abstract

This paper analyses the classic Apriori algorithm as well as some disadvantages of the improved algorithms, based on which the paper improves the Boolean matrix. A row and a column are added on the former Boolean matrix to store the row vector of weight and account of the column vector. According to the quality of Apriori algorithm, Boolean matrix is largely compressed, which greatly reduces the complexity of space. At the same time, we adopt the method of weighting vector inner-product to find frequent K-itemsets so as to get the association rules. The complexity of space and time is developed to a large extent by the improved algorithm. In the end, the paper gives the computing procedure of the improved algorithm and by experiments, it proves that the algorithm is effective. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3397

Abstract

According to the physical process of discharge development of insulator that is struck by lightning, the lightning flashover model for quadruple-circuit transmission line with dual voltage 220kV/110kV in same tower is established basing on EMTP. The actual evaluation index of lightning protection performance is adopted with the consideration of influence of system voltage. The characteristics of multi-circuit trip-out simultaneously for mixed-voltage lines in same tower is studied, and the distinctions of lightning protection performance caused by differentiated configuration mode of lightning protection measures including phase sequence arrangement, coupling ground wire and so on. The results indicate that the lightning withstand level fluctuates approximately with the phase angle in the form of non-standard sinusoidal wave. The lightning withstand level emerges as optimum performance under the completely reversed phase sequence. The effect of coupling ground wire on top of tower is superior to that on bottom. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3413
