Abstract

Cascading failures are common in most of the networks, which can result in a congestion regime with degradation in the network performance. In order to investigate how a small shock can trigger avalanches mechanisms affecting a considerable fraction of the network, lots of failure models have been constructed. In this paper, Based on our AHP network cascading model, we have estimated how the efficiency will be affected when coefficients of K, S, T changed, we  find the fact  that the network efficiency of BA network is determined by its attacked types, and  the efficiency  is largely influenced by the attacked types of K and S, and under the same number of failure node, the efficiency under attacks of types T and I are relatively higher than that of the efficiency under attacks of types S and K , and the importance I is largely determined by the proportion of T, when the node failure number is equal, the higher proportion of T, the  higher efficiency it is  under I type attacks. We also tabled some proposals for reducing the damage that the networks suffered from the cascading failures. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.2968

Abstract

This paper addressed the issue of vascular ultrasound image segmentation and proposed a novel ultrasonic vascular location and detection method. We contributed in several aspects: Firstly using mean-shift segementation algorithm to obtain the initial segementation results of vascular images; Secondly new data item and smooth item of the graph cut energy function was constructed based on the MRF mode, then we put forward swap and  ideas to optimize segmentation results, consequently accurately located the vessel wall and lumen in vascular images. Finally comparison with experts manually tagging results, and appling edge correlation coefficients and variance to verify the validity of our algorithm, experimental results show that our algorithm can efficiently combines the advantages of mean-shift and graph-cut algorithm and achieve better segmentation results. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3346

Abstract

In order to realize the accurate distortion parameters test of aircraft power supply system, and satisfy the requirement of corresponding equipment in the aircraft, the novel power parameters test system based on improved filtering algorithm is introduced in this paper. The hardware of the test system has the characters of s portable and high-speed data acquisition and processing, and the software parts utilize the software Labwindows/CVI as exploitation software, and adopt the pre-processing technique and adding filtering algorithm. Compare with the traditional filtering algorithm, the test system adopted improved filtering algorithm can help to increase the test accuracy. The application shows that the test system with improved filtering algorithm can realize the accurate test results, and reach to the design requirements. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3416

Abstract

In order to enhance the accuracy of multi-pose and multi-expression face detection, this paper proposes an algorithm based on multi-orientation Gabor feature fusion of mean and variance of sub-images. Firstly, to remove the huge background regions, we segmented images based on YCbCr space and then used two-eye templates to locate faces in skin-color regions by template matching. Secondly, the features were extracted from the face regions which had been removed the nose parts. After filtering by four-direction Gabor filters, the images were divided and then the corresponding constituent parts were formed. Thirdly, we calculated the mean and variance of the constituent parts block by block and processed them with features fusion. At last Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Back Propagation net (BP) were used for classification detection. The experimental results show that the algorithm has higher detection accuracy than other similar algorithms in multi-pose and multi-expression facial detections. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3432

Abstract

MOS Current-Mode Logic (MCML) is widely used for high-speed circuits. However, the MCML circuits have large static power consumptions due to their constant operation currents. This paper presents a power-gating scheme for MCML circuits to reduce their static power dissipations in sleep mode. The PMOS transistors for linear load resistors of MCML circuits are used for power-gating switches. A power-gating control circuit consisting of NMOS and PMOS transistors is added for switching power-gating switches under the control of the sleep signal. The structure and operation of the proposed power-gating scheme are presented. In order to verify the correctness of the proposed power-gating scheme, several basic cells and a full-adder based on MCML circuits are realized. All the circuits are simulated with HSPICE at SMIC 130nm technology. The simulation results show that the power dissipations of the MCML circuits can be greatly reduced by shutting down their idle logic blocks. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.2877

Abstract

To solve task decomposition of multi-expert system, agent-based task decomposition model and algorithm based on dependency is introduced. Firstly, AND/OR dependency graph for operation set is presented. Formal description of task decomposition based on With AND/OR dependency graph, is proposed. Secondly, task decomposition algorithm based on operation dependency is analyzed to solve communication among agents. Analysis of algorithm performance and instance are discussed, collaboration work flow between expert agents are analyzed and  can solve the collaboration problem among expert-agents very well. For illustration, expert system for oil-gas reservoir protection is utilized to verify the effectiveness of the method. Finally, multi-expert system based on our proposed algorithm shows that our proposed model has good time and space efficiency, and support task dynamic decomposition and can effectively solve the collaboration of experts in the multiple-expert system and improve the accuracy of inference. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.2539

Abstract

At present, the moving target detection and flame characteristics extraction almost become the most important parts in majority of video fire detection systems. Through the above two-part study, a new fire features detection method is presented in precise moving target area. That is, using the improved background difference method and flame features (such as the color and uniformity, Wavelet energy, stroboscopic and contour features) to detect fire. Experiments show that this method can improve theaccuracy and anti-interference ability of fire detection. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3340

Abstract

The transmission delay is an important index of the system performance of NoC (Network on Chip). Although the method of simulation-based can get accurate transmission delay, the simulation requires time consuming and a large number of test vectors. Especially in the study of some algorithms, such as mapping algorithms, buffer allocation algorithm, the simulation method is not applicable. To solve the above problems, the paper uses queuing theory to study the establishment of a NoC delay model. The model considers the limited buffer of routing unit and virtual channel technology for network transmission delay and proposes solving algorithm of the delay model based on reverse deduction method. The simulation shows that this model used to analyze the application-specific data transmission delay has smaller average error (reduced by 8%) and higher evaluation efficiency (increased by more than 30 times), which provide designers an efficient method of performance evaluation. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3395

Abstract

The nodes can freely join or leave the P2P network, which will lead to much false routing information that can cripple the performance of P2P network. Many hackers also utilize the weaken point to attack the P2P network. We propose a safety routing algorithm for P2P network to resist the routing attack. The algorithm adopts the multiple-encryption detecting technology. The node which launches the communicating connection will periodically detect every node in its routing path by sending some multiple-encryption detecting packets. By the responding message of the detected nodes, the malicious or disable nodes in its routing path will be accurately located and kicked out of the routing table. Simulation experiments demonstrate the algorithm can effectively improve the safety of the P2P routing and topology stability of the P2P network. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3411
