The wood samples were tested by the technique of stress wave, and the testing results were analyzed by using the statistic software of SPSS. The results showed that the length, density and knots of wood, the sizes of holes and numbers of holes have significant influence on propagation parameters and dynamic modulus of elasticity. Under the same specifications, the propagation time of the stress wave was longer in the wood with holes than the perfect wood samples, and the time become longer with the increasing the sizes and numbers of holes. The studying results of this paper will provide a sound background for the application of stress-wave technique in detecting the inner defects of wood products and other wooden structures. Accurate forecasting of electric load has always been the most important issues in the electricity industry, particularly for developing countries. Due to the various influences, electric load forecasting reveals highly nonlinear characteristics. This paper creates a system for power load forecasting using support vector machine and ant colony optimization. The method of colony optimization is employed to process large amount of data and eliminate. The SVR model with ant colony optimization is proposed according to the characteristics of the nonlinear electricity consumption data. Then ACO-SVR model is applied to the electricity consumption prediction of Jiangsu province. The result shows better than the ANNs method and improves the accuracy of the prediction. The multilevel cascaded converters are extensively applied for high-voltage and high-power applications, which are considered as the most favorable topologies for the high power ac-drives and the high-voltage DC transmission (HVDC) systems using the voltage source converters (VSCs). This paper presents the dc capacitor balancing and effective current regulation methodologies for the multilevel cascaded converters. The dc-link voltage balancing and capacitor energy evolving mechanism of the MMCC is analyzed, and an effective control scheme is devised by utilizing two dc capacitor voltage control loops, including the total capacitor voltage controller (TCVC), the capacitor voltage balancing controller (CVBC). The predictive current controller is proposed to enhance the tracking accuracy of current control loop. The proportional-resonant controller (PRC) is used as circulating current damping controller of the modular multilevel converter, which is found to be highly effective to minimize the circulating current. The Electromagnetic Transient Program (EMTP) is utilized for digital simulation of the single-phase five-level modular multilevel converter. The effectiveness of the control scheme is validated by the simulation results. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i11.2994

The computational aspects of finding the shortest addition chains for an integer are investigated in this work. Theoretically developed lower and upper bounds for the minimal length of the addition chains for an integer are exploited to construct a subtle pruning function for backtracking algorithm. These techniques are finally combined to build an efficient algorithm for finding the optimal addition chains. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i11.2902

Resource scheduling strategies in cloud computing are used either to improve system operating efficiency, or to improve user satisfaction. This paper presents an integrated scheduling strategy considering both resources credibility and user satisfaction. It takes user satisfaction as objective function and resources credibility as a part of the user satisfaction, and realizes optimal scheduling by using genetic algorithm. We integrate this scheduling strategy into Agent subsequently and propose a cloud computing system architecture based on Multi-agent. The numerical results show that this scheduling strategy improves not only the system operating efficiency, but also the user satisfaction. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i11.3497

This thesis proposes a safety instrument system which is based on D-S evidence theory, including sensor, logic voting system and execution unit. While the logic voting system concludes the input circuit, processor, output circuit and the diagnosis module based on D-S evidence theory. According to the diagnosis module in multi-channel logic voting system and calculation based on D-S evidence theory, the interconnected feedback information can improve the reliability of the diagnosis. Therefore, the safety instrument system elaborated in this thesis can achieve system’s self-diagnosis function under the premise of using less hardware equipment and at the mean time acquiring advantages of low cost, reliability and high security. The encoding time of traditional fractal image coding method is too long.Aiming at this problem, a quantum BP network algorithm is proposed in the paper. By using a neuronal model with quantum input and output, combined with the theory of BP in image compression and the complex BP algorithm, a model for image impression with 3-layer quantum BP is built, which implements image compression and image reconstruction. The simulation results show that QBP can obtain the reconstructed images with better quantity compared with BP in spite of the less learning iterations. The hollow inclusion strain sensors employed for in-situ stress monitor use strain gages to detect strain changes of the rock, and the detected strain changes are transmitted to resistance changes in a Whetstone bridge, then the output voltage values of the bridge are finally used for in-situ stress calculation. In order to correct the temperature influence on the strain gages, thermistors are used to record the temperature changes during the monitor and achieve the temperature compensation. A monitor network containing 9 hollow inclusion strain sensors with temperature compensation were built to measure the in-situ stress in an undersea mine, and the measuring results discover the distribution law of 3D in-situ stress state in the mine which can be used to optimize the mining design. Air ticket sales revenue is an important source of revenue for travel agencies, and if future air ticket sales revenue can be accurately forecast, travel agencies will be able to advance procurement to achieve a sufficient amount of cost-effective tickets. Therefore, this study applied the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Genetic Algorithms (GA) to establish a prediction model of travel agency air ticket sales revenue. By verifying the empirical data, this study proved that the established prediction model has accurate prediction power, and MAPE (mean absolute percentage error) is only 9.11%. The established model can provide business operators with reliable and efficient prediction data as a reference for operational decisions. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i11.2762
