Abstract

There are two main issues, high cost and interrupt response delay for current PACs (programmable automation controllers) which are using high frequency single-chip microprocessors and commercial RTOS (real-time operating system) working by switching the tasks and interrupts. To solve these problems, a new low-cost multi-core heterogeneous PAC structure was proposed. Based on the traditional front-end of interrupt service without interrupt switching delay and the division & deployment of multi real-time tasks. We implemented a new programming language Engineer C including its syntax, compiler and an integrated development environment, which can dynamically divide the multi tasks and deploy the division to single low-cost microcontroller, then built the hardware prototype, which consists of a digital signal board, an analog signal board and a motion control board, every board has its microcontroller and communicates each other by an enhanced SPI bus. Testing results show the hardware prototype and IDE can be provided as a low-cost PAC solution for construction machine. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.3802

Abstract

Particle SwarmOptimization (PSO) algorithm is a new swarm intelligence optimization technique, because of its simplicity, fewerparameters and good effects, PSO has been widely used to solve various complexoptimization problems. particle swarm optimization(PSO) exist the problems ofpremature and local convergence, we proposed an improved particle swarm optimization based on aggregation effect and with mutation operator, whichdetermines whether the aggregation occurs in searching, if there is then theGaussian  mutation is detected to theglobal extremum, to overcome particle swarm optimization falling into localoptimal solution defects.  Testing thenew algorithm by a typical test function, the results show that, compared withthe conventional genetic algorithm (SGA), it improves the ability of globaloptimization, but also effectively avoid the premature convergence. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.3703

Abstract

This paper introduces the logging principle of through-casing resistivity logging technology, finds a phenomenon that the leakage current measurements are susceptible to sufferring interferences. The through-casing resistivity logging technology in Russia and that of Schlumberger are studied, and the system of through-casing resistivity logging is established to improve the accuracy of calibrating, testing and measuring of the instrument. In this paper, distribution parameters of the form is replaced by the lumped parameter, and precision resistor array simulation in formation leakage current and scale pool simulation in different resistivity of formation are conducted, which make the dynamic range of the simulation in formation resistivity of the medium increase to 1- 300 Ω·m and meet the requirement of through-casing resistivity logging technology measurement range, 1 Ω·m ~ 100 Ω·m. Since the measuring signals of calibration acquisition and processing systems are extremely weak and calculation signals need to tell the nV (nanovolts) level, the high accurate data acquisition system of 24 digits is applied. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.3671

Abstract

In this paper we show that a biologically inspired model can be successfully applied to problems of building optimal district heating network. The model is based on physiological observations of the true slime mold Physarumpolycephalum, but can also be used for path-finding in the complicated networks of mazes and road maps. A strategy of optimally building heating distribution network was guided by the model and a well-tuned ant colony algorithm and genetic algorithm. The results indicate that although there are not large-scale efficiency savings to be made, the biologically inspired amoeboid movement model is capable of finding results of equal or better optimality than a comparable ant colony algorithm and genetic algorithm. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.3890

Abstract

In this paper, a parameterized transient finite element model for permanent magnet (PM) dimension analysis and performance simulation of a V-shape interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) with 8 poles is developed. The relationships between induced electromotive force (EMF) and PM dimension, cogging torque and PM dimension are analyzed; the geometries of PM structure are optimized by performing response surface methodology (RSM); a new type of flux-barrier is designed to weaken the flux leakage, and the performances of the sample IPMSM are simulated. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.3745

Abstract

A Ka-band two dimensional synthetic aperture interferometric radiometer (SAIR) called SAIR-2D has been developed for concealed weapon detection. The inter-channel mismatch due to amplitude, phase and group delay differences between each receiving channel pairs can result in an undesired effect called fringe washing function (FWF). As the security application usually needs a wide field of view, the FWF is unavoidable and could lead to radiometric performance degradation. This paper presents a general method to analyze the impact of inter-channel mismatch on SAIR. Based on the analysis, the performance degradation of the SAIR-2D is mainly introduced by the group delay difference. To decrease the degradation, a synchronization module is designed to correct the group delay difference. Validation experiments have been conducted on SAIR-2D. The experimental results have validated that the correction technique can meet the requirements of SAIR-2D. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.2890

Abstract

The formal and empirical proof is that the ensemble of the learning models performs better than the single one. In order to construct the ensemble of the system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), the two problems (diversity and accuracy of ODEs) are considered. In the paper, we estimate experimentally the model ensemble using multi-objective optimization. This paper presents a pareto optimal approach for identifying a family of the additive tree models which are used to reconstruct and identify the system of ordinary differential equations to predict the small-time scale traffic measurements data. We employ the tree-structure based evolution algorithm and particle swarm optimization (PSO) to evolve the architecture and the parameters of the additive tree model. The small-scale traffic measurements data is used to test ODE ensemble, and experimental results reveal that the proposed method is feasible and efficient for forecasting the time series. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.2878

Abstract

To meet the growing data traffic demands in the telecommunication applications, the number of wavelengths is to be increased in a fiber-optic backbone of the telecommunication network. The exponential growth of internet services, transmission capacity is a tremendous challenge to networks. Nowadays, 10 Gbps transmission systems are being used for commercial applications. At the same time, the non-linear effects such as FWM, SRS, XPM, SPM, and Dispersion are also increased, when the number of wavelengths passing through the single fiber is increased. The analysis of efficient modulation formats for DWDM system and long-haul transmission system, we go for various modulations for DWDM system. The maimum data rate for NRZ-OOK modulation format is 10 Gbps. For RZ-OOK the maximum rate is 50 Gbps. Since RZ-OOK modulation uses twice the band width when compared to NRZ-OOK modulation. The modulation format is partially upgraded from OOK to PSK, the influence of OOK signals on the updated PSK signals must be considered when using multi-channel wavelength conversion. The PSK modulation is also analyzed. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.2515

Abstract

With the continuous improvement of robot intelligent, constantly expanding range of applications, as well as multi-sensor information fusion technology, the traditional single sensor signal transmission problem has become multi-sensor transmission problems or multiple source signal transmission problems. This brought a large amount of signal variation and signals multiple variation problems. The traditional detection algorithm has been unable to meet the requirements; therefore, this paper puts forward a kind of robot multisensory signal variation test method based on artificial immune algorithm. First, establish the dynamic changes of the signal variability of equations to get the cross point of the distribution of the signal variability of variability, then update signal variation characteristic database, in the database selection signal variation characteristics. The method overcomes the drawbacks of traditional algorithms; the experiments show that this algorithm can avoid the defect signal variability of mutation, to improve the accuracy of signal variation detection.  DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.3682
