Abstract

On the basis of multi-sensor fusion algorithm, a target recognition algorithm based on Back Propagation (BP) neural networks and invariant moments was proposed. Invariant moment takes advantage of overall information of the targets. It has good differentiating effect and high identification technique. On the other hand, BP neural networks not only have the adaptive learning ability, but also are insensitive to imperfection of input mode. Therefore, it has proper classification and extensibility. It is effective for the algorithm based on BP neural networks and invariant moments that decrease the adverse impacts for the images, which are always subject to the changes of imaging distance, direction and position. Simulation results show that the algorithm has strong recognition capability for surface targets from infrared image sensors. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.2062

Abstract

In this paper, we present an improved Direct Adaptive Fuzzy (IDAF) controller applied to general control DC motor speed system. In particular, an IDAF algorithm is designed to control an uncertain DC motor speed to track a given reference signal. In fact, the quality of the control system depends significantly on the amount of fuzzy rules-fuzzy sets and the updating coefficient of the adaptive rule. This can be observed clearly by the system error when the reference input is constant and out of a particular range or in the case of it varies with nonzero acceleration. So, in order to enhance quality of the system, increasing the amount of fuzzy sets and adjusting appropriately the updating coefficient of controller based on value of state error vector are needed. In addition, the proposed IDAF algorithm can control the DC motor speed under unstable supply voltages and varying loads. The control system is implemented on a dsPIC33FJ256MC710A 16-bit DSC (Digital Signal Processing Controller) board. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.1861

Abstract

The characteristics of radio frequency identification (RFID) systems introduce growing security and privacy concerns. RFID systems need security protocols to provide confidentiality, user privacy, mutual authentication and etc. Many security protocols for the RFID system have been presented. This paper analyze several of the newest RFID security protocols which proposed by Niu et al., Fu et al. and Habibi et al. respectively form the security viewpoint of data desynchronization attack. These lightweight protocols were expected to proposed security protections for the RFID system and safeguard against almost all major attacks. However, we found that these RFID security protocols were vulnerable to the attack of data desynchronization. Based on strand spaces model, data desynchronization attacks on these protocols were analyzed and described. Furthermore, improvements to overcome the security vulnerabilities of two protocols presented by Niu et al. and Fu et al. were given.  DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.1993

Abstract

Mechanical fault diagnosis is a feature extraction and pattern recognition process. The feature extraction is related to the accuracy of fault diagnosis and the reliability of the prediction. How to extract fault features effectively and build an accurate model to recognize fault is the key of diagnosis technology. Accordingly, a feature extraction method based on LMD-approximate entropy was proposed, and combined it with LSSVM to diagnose mechanical fault. Firstly, the decomposition of fault feature by LMD, and then the approximate entropy of product function were taken to extract fault features accurately. Finally, the eigenvectors were input to LS-SVM for fault recognition. Compared with EMD and wavelet decomposition, the results show that it can extract fault features effectively and can improve the accuracy and speed of fault diagnosis. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.2028

Abstract

This paper designed and built a distributed hash table based computing resource sharing platform named OE-P2RSP. By employing Peer-to-Peer services, OE-P2RSP allowed users to submit jobs to be run in the system and to run jobs submitted by other users on any resources available over the Internet, essentially allowing a group of users to form an Ad hoc set of shared resources. OE-P2RSP is based on structured peer on network share, improves the communication mode of system by encapsulated object, object group, and physical proximity principle, and the use of physical proximity principle, and gathers computing resources better in the same research institution or enterprise within local area network. The experimental results obtained via simulations show that the system can reliably execute scientific applications on a widely distributed set of resources with good load balancing and low matchmaking cost and that OE-P2RSP has good efficiency, load balancing and scalability. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.2056

Abstract

The traditional image matching algorithms adopt more complex strategies when dealing with mismatch caused by a lot of noise. In this paper, a simple, intuitive and effective noise processing algorithm is proposed based on Delaunay triangulation in computational geometry. The algorithm extracts feature points using SIFT method, respectively establishes Delaunay triangulation in multi-spectral and panchromatic images, and removes the feature points that three points are collinear and four points are on circle by Delaunay triangulation, obtains the registration images through the correspondence between the Delaunay triangulations. The effect of image registration is evaluated by objective method. In the image matching, Delaunay triangulation is introduced. The establishment of Delaunay triangulation is independent of the selection of initial values. In general, a unique Delaunay triangulation can be got when a feature point set is given, and it can provide the accuracy of the algorithm. The algorithm is simple and clear for converting a lot of mismatch noise to the operation of Delaunay triangulation. Experiment results show the algorithm can keep the good rotation feature and translation invariance in SIFT method, the number of extraction feature points has been significantly reduced in the algorithm compared with SIFT method, registration speed and accuracy are better than the registration algorithm based on conventional SIFT method. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.2004

Abstract

According to thermo-elastic deformation theory, take the temperature field analysis results of hydrostatic pressure mechanical seal as volume load to resolve the problem of thermal-structure coupling deformation of rotating and stationary rings in ANSYS software. The distribution laws of thermal strain, thermal stress and thermal-structure coupling deformation are obtained. The effects of working, material and structural parameters on axial, radial thermal deformation and deformation taper of the end faces are discussed in detail, and the main affecting factors are found out. Measures and structural constraint programs to control the thermal deformation are put forward. Base on the theory of thermal deformation compensation, the rotating and stationary rings are optimized, and the thermal deformation before and after their optimization are solved respectively and analyzed comparatively to verify the feasibility of the optimization program. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.2049
