Abstract

In most B2Cs, such as 5-star Amazon, users’ rating capability is nonhomogeneous, which make it necessary to distinguish different users' profiles. Besides, recommender systems sometimes overlook differences among users’ judging power and simply recommend for the target users based on the preferences of his/her neighbors, leading to unsatisfactory recommendation performances. In this paper, we firstly propose a natural extension of the YZLM algorithm to get users’ judging power. Then we equally divide the users into some groups so that the intra-group users have close judging power. Through experiments on three benchmark datasets, namely MovieLens, Netflix and Amazon, we can find the interesting phenomenon which indicates a positive correlation between groups’ judging power and group’s recommendation performance. By analyzing this phenomenon in detail, we put forward some guidance to improve recommendation algorithm according to different users' judging power. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2277

Abstract

The friction disturbance influences servo system in follow-up performance directly, active compensation for the friction disturbance can improve the servo performance. The current compensation algorithms have some disadvantages, such as the complication of algorithms and the high requirement on hardware. In this paper, we propose a new method based on velocity observer. By this method, analytic solution of compensation voltage can be obtained aim to friction disturbance. The method is validated by comparing the results between simulation and experiment. This method has advantages of low requirement on hardware and simple algorithm. It is easy to be applied in practice and provides reference to other servo system for compensation of disturbance. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2810

Abstract

A well-prepared abstract enables the reader to identify the basic content of a document quickly and accurately, to determine its relevance to their interests, and thus to decide whether to read the document in its entirety. The Abstract should be informative and completely self-explanatory, provide a clear statement of the problem, the proposed approach or solution, and point out major findings and conclusions. The Abstract should be 100 to 150 words in length. The abstract should be written in the past tense. Standard nomenclature should be used and abbreviations should be avoided. No literature should be cited. The keyword list provides the opportunity to add keywords, used by the indexing and abstracting services, in addition to those already present in the title. Judicious use of keywords may increase the ease with which interested parties can locate our article. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2821

Abstract

Automatic hydraulic press is one of the key Ceramic machinery and equipments for pressing ceramic wall and floor tiles, and its frame withstands all of the work force when it works, so the work performances of the frame have an important impact on the structural performance of the entire automatic hydraulic press. Took the frame of 32.8MN automatic hydraulic press as research object, established its three-dimensional model through Pro/Engineer software and carried on contact finite element analysis for it by using the large commercial finite element software ANSYS to gain the stress and strain distribution of the frame, and then carried out a detailed analysis of the results. The work done can help to fully understand the structure properties of existing automatic hydraulic press and serve as guidance to further improve its performance, and at the same time provide a theoretical basis for the structural design of the same type of automatic hydraulic press frame. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2836

Abstract

Combining with the present situation of risk management in domestic coal enterprises, the overall flow of risk pre-control system of coal enterprise is designed on the basis of the ISO/FDIS31000 “Risk management—Principles and guidelines” released by the International Standards Organization and risk precontrol management system of safety in coal mine, UML(unified modeling language) is used as a tool to establish the model of system requirements analysis, risk management subsystem is taken as an example to elaborate the modeling process of system analysis, the merit of ensuring the accuracy and consistency of system analysis when using UML as the tool of object-oriented system requirements analysis is verified. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2853

Abstract

For the problem of segmenting the unevenly lighted document image, this paper proposes an illumination compensation segmentation algorithm which can effectively segment the unevenly lighted document. The illumination compensation method is proposed to equivalently convert unevenly lighted document image to evenly lighted document image, then segment the evenly lighted document directly. Experimental results show that the proposed method can get the accurate evenly lighted document images so that we can segment the document accurately and it is more efficient to process unevenly lighted document  images than traditional binarization methods. The algorithm effectively overcomes the difficulty in handling uneven lighting and enhances segmentation quality considerably. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2932

Abstract

Accurate tax revenue forecasting has become a most important management goal, however, tax revenue often presents nonlinear data patterns. Therefore, a rigid forecasting approach with strong general nonlinear mapping capabilities is essential. The genetic algorithm has been used to select the parameters automatically for support vector machine. Then a RBF neural network has been built based on support vector machine and genetic algorithm, which helps to form a forecasting model system of RBF neural network optimization algorithms. As a result, this algorithm can avoid not only the shortcomings of traditional algorithm which is easy to get local minimal value, but also a large number of experiments or experiences which are needed to pre-specify network structure. Case study on Chinese tax revenue during the last 30 years demonstrates that the network based on this algorithm is much more accurate than other prediction methods. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2199

Abstract

This paper presents an adaptive neural control design for a class of unknown nonlinear systems. Novel state variables and the corresponding transform are introduced, such that the state-feedback control of a pure-feedback system can be viewed as the output-feedback control of a canonical system. An adaptive predictor incorporated with a neural network observer is proposed to obtain the future system states predictions, which are used in the control design to circumvent the input delay and nonlinearities. The proposed predictor, observer and controller are all online implemented, and the closed-loop system stability is guaranteed. The conventional backstepping design and analysis for pure-feedback systems are avoided, which renders the developed scheme simpler in its synthesis and application. Practical guidelines on the control implementation and the parameter design are provided. The applicability in nonlinear system is demonstrated by simulation experiments. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2804
