Abstract

Software reliability testing provided the necessary guarantee for improving software reliability level and estimation. The traditional method for generating software reliability test cases could be seen as a simple random sampling, which was randomly choosen according to the operational profile defined by Musa. The stratified sampling was well known as a complex but more accurate sampling approach which could make the sampling results more accurate and less variance by dividing the population into several subsets and randomly sampling from each subset respectively. First, this paper introduced the traditional approach to determine the number of test cases in the discrete software reliability demonstration testing. Second, the background of the stratified sampling and necessary condition for the minimal test effort based on the stratified sampling were put forward. Third, the new method’s principle and details were analyzed and a sample was given to show the method’s effectiveness.Finally, the future work was discussed. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3041

Abstract

Implementing course evaluation is an effective way to improve university course management level, and how to evaluate university course is one of the difficulties and hot research fields for the researchers related. The paper takes university chorus course evaluation for example and presents a new model for evaluating university course evaluation based on data mining technology. First an evaluation indicator system of university chorus course evaluation with three grades is designed; Second, aiming at the shortages of the existing BP neural network algorithm of data-mining for evaluating innovation education performance, genetic and BP neural network algorithm are integrated  and some improvements are advanced to speed up the convergence and simplify the structure and to improve evaluating accuracy of the original BP model. Finally the model is realized with the data from three universities and the realization of the experimental results show that the model can improve algorithm efficiency and evaluation accuracy and can be used for university chorus course evaluation practically. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3074

Abstract

The shovel depth generally references to the depth of material pile operation, or according to operators’ experiences to determine the depth while loader shovelling original raw soil. In view of this situation, the relationship between the shovel depth of loader bucket and shovel resistance is analyzed in this paper, and a mathematical model is constructed for calculating the time of the material filling up the bucket. Taking ZL50 loader as an example, and combined with the relationship curve of the bucket work resistance and the shovel depth, and the traction characteristic curve of I gear, the relationship of the driving speed and shovel depth is worked out, on the basis of this, the mathematical model of optimization algorithm of the shovel depth is established. The result shows that there is an optimal shovel depth when loader shovelling original raw soil, while the operation efficiency of loader is the highest, and there is a best operation depth range of loader shovel, in which work efficiency of loader changes a little, this will bring great convenience to the operation for the driver. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3090

Abstract

This paper proposes a simulation modeling method for the electrical switching system of hydropower station, which is a sub-topic for Hydropower Station Simulation Training System. The graphics model of commonly used electrical switch equipment is developed with a certain software. As vast and different types of Hydropower station circuit breakers and associated grounding switches, and each specific action of the switch process is not same, so the modular modeling method is described to solve the problem. According to the role and status in power plant, electrical switch system is divided into several sub modules, among which a number of small modules are sorted in. In each sub module, a common model is developed. Besides, the application method that the network topology analysis algorithm used in electrical switching system simulation logic judgment is introduced. With the ‘connecting line fusion’ technique, logic function expression member information table is automatically generated, thereby enhancing the suitability for the electrical switch simulation model. The methods mentioned above assure the real-time, typicality and flexibility in simulation, and have been successfully used in the development of a large hydropower station simulator. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3135

Abstract

To detect the wireless network equipment whether there is protocol vulnerability, using the method of modular design and implementation of a new suitable for Wi-Fi protocol vulnerability discovery fuzzy test framework. It can be independent of its transmission medium, produce deformity packet and implementation of the attack on the target system. The author firstly describes the wireless network protocol vulnerability discovery and fuzzy test in this paper,then focused on the test frame technical scheme, detailed technical realization and so on, and its application are analyzed. In the experimental stage the fuzzy test is applied to a wireless networks gateway, the test results show that the fuzzy test framework can be well applied to the wireless network equipment agreement loophole mining work. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3147

Abstract

As a new network planning and design technique, the network simulation provides the objective and reliable reference for the network design, the network expansion, upgrade and optimization, thus the science of decision-making in network building is promoted. In this paper, we simulated campus users’ online behavior and actual network equipment operation by using OPNET, and carried on the simulation to the different scale and the different structure network, which obtained a group of simulation results. According to link utilization and end-to-end delay and other simulation results, we have analyzed the issue of influence campus network performance for designing the best network configuration, which has the important reference value for the planning and construction of the campus network. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3024

Abstract

Many complex networks have displayed the community structures, and the detection of community structure can give insights into the structural and functional information of these complex networks. In this paper, we proposed a neighbor similarity based new algorithm for community structure detection, in which we only consider the similarities between a node and its unclassified neighbors in the breadth-first traversal order, without considering other nodes’ influences; we take this node as a father node and its neighbors as the children nodes, to find out those children nodes which should belong in the same community with their father node. Then these children nodes are processed in the same way as their father node recursively, until the termination condition is reached. The most prominent property of our algorithm is that it has near liner time complexity, and furthermore it is a deterministic algorithm. We have tested our algorithm on several real networks, compared with some other algorithms, and the results have manifested that our algorithm outperforms the previous algorithms significantly. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3064

Abstract

Teaching evaluation plays a key role for universities to improve its teaching quality and becomes a hotspot research field for related researchers. The paper takes university English teaching for example and presents a new model for evaluating English course teaching based on improved BP neural network. Firstly an evaluation indicator system of university English teaching is designed through analyzing the aspects of teaching effects and teacher factors and student factors. Secondly, BP Neural network is improved by improving its Non-monotone linear search and adaptive step change to overcome its shortages of low convergence in calculation. Thirdly data from of some universities are taken for examples to verify the validity and feasibility of the model and the experimental results show that the model can evaluate university English teaching practically and can help university and English teachers take corresponding concrete measures to enhance its education performance. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3085

Abstract

Swath bathymetry system surveys with wide swath, high location resolution, and is used to detect sea bottom terrain. But the object resolution detected decreases as the depth increasing, its data processing with high mistake, used rarely in sea floor object survey.So GeoSwath, a multibeam sonar does. Although it covers an angular range of -120°to 120 °from the vertical direction, providing high density and high quality bathymetry data along with side scan like amplitude imagery, the data processing is more relied on human intervention to get accurate depth contour and sonar image which prevent its propular use in survey of seafloor targets. The purpose of this article presents survey parameter setting during survey and data processing technique to survey seafloor target by GeoSwath system, which set the proper detect parameters including ping length, ship velocity to increase the points over targets, setting navigation line parallel to the maximum dimension of target during survey, adopting appropriate filter to depth data processing and using TVG control over amplitude data to get accurate depth grid and sonar image of seafloor target. Finally, the way is used to measure the artificial object in harbor and two ship wrecks at sea, compound with the sonar image taken by the forward looking sonar, to search the ship wreck near harbor, to help to recognize the targets and locates its real position. This technology improves GeoSwath survey capability with compound detection and is helpful for make precise map for waterway. Also this work is helpful to achieve detecting seafloor objects fast, accurately, effectively in underwater large scale area during salvation and rescue task. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3029
