Abstract

Aiming at a class of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system with uncertainty, a sliding mode control algorithm based on neural network disturbance observer is designed and applied to ship yaw and roll joint stabilization. The nonlinear disturbance observer is finished by radial basis function neural network and with that a terminal sliding mode control algorithm is proposed. The asymptotic stability of closed-loop system is proved based on Lyapunov theorem. The proposed control law is applied to anti-roll control under simulative wave disturbances. Simulation results verified robustness and effectiveness of the suggested algorithm. A good anti-rolling effect is achieved and yaw angle is also reduced greatly with less mechanical loss.

Abstract

An incentive mechanism about service effort provided by the manufacturer in a dual-channel supply chain is studied under asymmetric information. The principal-anent models are developed for asymmetric information and symmetric information, and then the optimal fixed payment and the optimal profit sharing ratio are obtained. In contrast to the case under symmetric information, the conclusion implies that the manufacturer’s profit decreases under asymmetric information, the retailer’s profit keep same even lower service level is provided. Thus, the system performance of the supply chain decreases. http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i12.6193

Abstract

Conventionally Grid Connected Solar PV plants initially generate DC power and then converted to AC via inverters and connected into AC grid for transmission power. Depending on the size of the plant, required environmental condition and land availability large PV plants are generally located far away from the load centre. Hence reduction of transmission loss and incised transmission capacity expansion is a greater challenge for modern newly establish solar power plant. Transmitting high voltage DC power directly from Solar PV panel to High voltage DC grid is become an accretive option for modern PV power plant. In this paper DC-DC bypass diode converter model is adopted to generate high voltage DC voltage in PV power plant. Result shows that power in the range of HVDC level can be generated when the voltage of different PV technology blocks are used as input. P-SIM software is used for simulating the circuit here.http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i12.6822

Abstract

Recently, ground marker based on the principle of acoustic detection has become the trend of pipeline technology. As to the difficulty and low accuracy of ground marker, this paper introduces a new MEMS bionic acoustic vector sensor with high sensitivity, good performance in low frequency and lower power. As to the problem of the port/starboard blur of this vector sensor in ground marking, it proposes a new plan and proves the correctness of the plan through theoretic analysis and experimental verification. The results show that the mean error of the directional angle is within 5 degree meeting the needs of the engineering project.

Abstract

This paper deals with a comparative analysis of various converter topologies for Power Factor Correction (PFC) in BLDC motor drives. A power factor corrected converter is required for improving power quality at the AC mains of an inverter fed BLDC motor drive. Conventionally, the BLDC motor is fed by a diode bridge rectifier (DBR) which results in highly distorted supply current and a poor power factor.  A new bridgeless single-phase ac–dc Cuk derived topology has been introduced for power factor correction. This bridgeless topology uses minimum number of switches and thus reduces the less conduction losses compared with the conventional PFC rectifier. There are three cuk derived configurations for power factor correction. In this paper, all the cuk derived topologies are investigated and compared. The best topology is identified and recommended for PFC in BLDC motor drive.

Abstract

A crosstalk elimination method by using the optimal binary excitation sequences modulated with chaotic codes, which includes chaotic binary amplitude shift keying (c-BASK), chaotic binary phase shift keying (c-BPSK) and chaotic binary frequency shift keying (c-BFSK), is proposed in this paper. The selection of the optimal chaotic initial values with the best echo correlation characteristics is realized by adopting a genetic algorithm. A square wave is used as the carrier of the chaotic binary modulation methods in order to reduce hardware cost. However, it could suffer from the decreased energy efficiency caused by mismatching spectrum with ultrasonic ranging system. The parameters of the chaotic binary modulation methods are configured to make their central frequency and bandwidth matched with that of the ultrasonic ranging system very well. Experiments have been conducted using an ultrasonic ranging system that consists of eight-channel SensComp 600 series instrument-grade electrostatic sensors excited with chaotic binary sequences. Experimental results show that the c-BFSK outperforms the c-BASK and c-BPSK in terms of the energy efficiency, e.g., 0.3508  vs. 0.3365  and 0.3279 , respectively. And the optimized c-BFSK sequence also has the best echo correlation characteristics among the chaotic binary modulation sequences. http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i12.4640

Abstract

Electric motors are workhorse of the industry. Induction motors are used more commonly than the other electric motors because of being low cost, robustness, and requiring less maintenance (especially squirrel-cage types), and able to work in harsh conditions. In this study, simultaneously remote powering of three separate single phase motors or one three-phase induction motor, when it is requested continuously remote data collection of motor currents, voltages, and remote monitoring of motor status are implemented. Moreover, preventing motors not running on low or high voltage conditions and allowing to run when the values return to nominal rates are provided. The design consists of PIC18F4620 microcontroller connected with ethernet board, sensor cards and control card. The developed software and HTML labels belonging to web interface are embedded in the microcontroller. The serial ethernet board contains HTML labels in its buffer memory. Thus, instead of using a separate host computer the serial ethernet board does the same hosting job. The remote powering of induction motors was done by the help of any device connecting to the internet with using an IP number assigned to the serial ethernet board. http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i12.6719

Abstract

Extensive used traffic simulation systems are helpfulin planning and controlling the traffic system. In traffic sim-ulation systems, the state of each vehicle is affected by thatof nearby vehicles, called neighbors. Nearest neighbor (NN) queries, which are multi 1-dimensional and highly concurrent, largely determine the performance of traffic simulation systems. Majority of existing traffic simulation systems use Linked list-based methods to process NN queries. Although simple andeffective they are, existing methods are neither scalable nore fficient. In this paper, we propose a B+-tree-based method to improve the efficiency of NN queries by borrowing ideas from methods used in databases. In particular, we create a linked local B+-tree, called LLB+-tree, which is a variation of Original B+-tree, to maintain the index of neighbors of each vehicle. We also build a mathematical model to optimize the parameter setting of LLB+-tree according to multiple parameters for lanes and vehicles. Our theoretical analysis shows that the time complexityof the method is O(logN) under the assumption of randomly distribution of vehicles. Our simulation results show that LLB+-tree can outperform Linked list and Original B+-tree by 64.2%and 12.8%, respectively.
