Abstract

Due to the impact of pollution, environment and so on in actual scene, it is difficult for the traditional single feature recognition model to obtain a higher accuracy of the license plate recognition. The paper proposed a new license plate image recognition model. First, the structural features and gray level features of the license plate, such as the contour and stroke order are extracted. Then, the principal component analysis is used to carry out the fusion, dimensionality reduction and redundancy removal processing for the two kinds of features, and a fuzzy fusion model for differentiated features is introduced to ensure minimal loss for the feature in fusion. Finally, the final result of the license plate image recognition is achieved in accordance with high degree of confidence criterion when the slope interference of the license plate is considered fully. Simulation results show that the license plate image recognition model based on multi-feature combination can solve the problem of the single feature recognition model, improve the accuracy of license plate recognition which is up to 99%. Moreover, the model has a faster recognition speed and can be applied to the actual license plate recognition. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4307

Abstract

Data Grid is composed of a large number of distributed computation and storage resources to facilitate the management of the huge distributed and sharing data resources efficiently. Dynamic replication can reduce the file storage time and use the grid resources effectively in a Data Grid environment. The Data Grid topology is divided into three layers: Regional level, LAN level, the grid site level. We have improved DHRA algorithm in three areas: replica selection, replica placement, replica replacement. Considering the weight and cost of replica, we propose dynamic Data Grid replication algorithm LWLC Based on Weight and Cost of Replica. At last, we use the OptorSim to prove the effectiveness of the LWLC . DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4737

Abstract

Abstract—Data mining is to use automated data analysis techniquesto uncover previously undetected relationships among data items. In datamining, association rule mining is a prevalent and well researched method for discovering useful relations between variables inlarge databases. In this paper, we investigate the principle of Apriori, direct hash and pruning and alsostudy the drawback of them. The first is constructing hash table withoutconfliction is theoretically optimal, but it needs consume a lot of memoryspace and space utilization is low. The second is that it does not have hashtree data structure leading to too long insert and search  time. So we propose a new association rule mining algorithm based on differential evolutionarycomputation. Theexperiment results show that our proposed algorithm has better execution timeand accuracy, which can be used in electroniccommerce system. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4810

Abstract

The dual server hot-standby mechanism is often used to improve the system availability. However, in traditional dual server hot-standby models, the states of servers are seldom determined from the client’s observation, and it’s easy for the master server and the slave server to make wrong decisions about the state of each other, which may cause split brain. This paper presents a multi-party decision hot-standby model. In this model, the master server and the slave server determine the state of each other not only from the observation of themselves, but also from the observation of the client, which helps them make correct decision to maintain or change the service platform, so as to ensure the continuity of application. Compared with traditional dual server hot-standby models, the model suggested in this paper is more reasonable because of the involvement of the client’s observation. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4887

Abstract

High dimensional data is usually produced by the source that only enjoys a limited number of degrees of freedom. Manifold leaning technique plays an important part in finding the correlation among the high dimensional data datasets. By making use of manifold alignment, the paired mapping relationship can be explored easily. However, the common manifold alignment algorithm can only give the mapping result of the training set, and cannot deal with a new coming point. A new manifold alignment algorithm is proposed in this paper. The benefit of our algorithm is two fold: First, the method is a semi-supervised approach, which makes better use of the local geometry information of the unpaired points and improves the learning effect when the labeled proportion is very low. Second, an extended spectral aggression trick is used in the algorithm, which can produce a linear mapping between the raw data space and the aligned space. The experiments result shows that, the correlation mapping can be precisely obtained, the hidden space can be aligned effectively, and the cost of mapping a coming point is very low. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4808

Abstract

Glucose concentration measurement is the basis of noninvasive detection of blood glucose concentration. It is significant in scientific research. In this study, Near Infrared Spectrum (NIRS) and regression analysis methodology were combined to measure the glucose concentration. The spectrum of glucose solutions was obtained with the Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectrometer, and then the data was used for regression analysis. In addition, the method of Paritial Least Squares (PLS) was used to achieve principle components and various spectral preprocessing methods were discussed. During PLS modeling, the Savitzky-Golay could improve the Prediction Residual Error Sum of Squares (PRESS) within 6%. The experiment results demonstrate that NIRS has the potential for the measurement of glucose solution. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4060

Abstract

As computer networks and distributed applications more complex, diverse and intelligent, network behavior anomaly detection has gradually become the effective monitoring and system controlling technology. The paper established a network intrusion detection system and to investigate the data rules, sensors and abnormal behavior automatic identification in this system, a kind of algorithm based on fuzzy rules to describe the network abnormal behavior was introduced into this paper. It was used to describe the misclassification invasion rules effectively and then to convert the misclassification invasion rules to the issue of seeking optimal separating hyper plane. Subsequently, the double super ball membership function was introduced into the system to restrict the intrusion features, and to establish intrusion rule set which was used to make optimized description of the intrusion rule set and then complete intrusion detection. The experimental results showed that: in the context of different network attacks, the system can complete a variety of attacks and efficient detection. The detection error was not more than 1% which basically met the requirements of the reliable, high precision, anti-interference ability in automatic network intrusion detection and provided a reference to the future research on network intrusion detection. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4288

Abstract

Modern science is increasingly data-driven and collaborative in nature. Comparing to ordinary data processing, big data processing that is mixed with great missing date must be processed rapidly. The Rough Set was generated to deal with the large data. The QuickReduct is a popular attribute algorithm as the attribute reduction of big database. But less effort has been put on fuzziness and vagueness data. Considering this requirement this paper proposes an improved attribute reduction based on condition entropy of fuzzy rough sets (FRCE) which can deal with the continuous and fuzzy data. This algorithm rewrites the expression of condition entropy by using the information theory. Last this paper takes the UCI database to simulate the efficiency of this algorithm. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4795

Abstract

The accuracy of magnetic heading sensor is reduced by the impact of manufacturing technology and local magnetic interferences. The singularity of constraint matrix in traditional calibration algorithm leads to unstable results. Therefore, an improved least-square ellipsoid fitting method is proposed in this paper. The error source and the deviation mathematical model are introduced. On the basis of the analysis on singularity of the constraints matrix, parameter extraction by the improved least-square ellipsoid fitting method is given. The new method successfully overcomes the instability of the traditional algorithm, and reduces the computation load. Simulation and experimental results show that this method is effective in calibrating magnetic heading sensor. The heading precision of the sensor acquired after calibration is better than 0.42º DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4837
