Abstract

Efficient and safe traffic control strategy for emergency vehicle can reduce its travel time and avoid secondary accident. Based on the analysis of its requirement and object, we proposed a novel control strategy at intersection according to the status of emergency vehicle, which can be divided into three parts: “approaching”, “passing “and “recovering”, Furthermore potential safety risk caused by emergency vehicle was also taken into account when making control strategy. From the case study we conclude that with control strategy in this paper delay of emergency vehicle can be sharply decreased by 68.63% with only 19.86% loss of average delay of background traffic.  DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4928

Abstract

Focused on revealing variations of dynamic characteristics of an auto-leveling system used in mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) at large height, a unified mathematical model composited of a series of sub-models was built for the leveling systems. An effect on dynamic characteristics including the fast response and relative stability from varying-parameters was investigated. Results displayed the displacement-angle factor changing with work-conditions tended to cause fluctuations of the stability, while enlarging the amplifier gain would accelerate system response. Increasing the area ratio was conducive to leveling stability to be reinforced, but lead a different response speed for forward process or reverse leveling, which was harmful to overall stability. The findings would provide essential theory guidance for the design and manufacture of the leveling system devices of high altitude platform. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4914

Abstract

The central issue of finishing train is that we should distribute the thickness of each exit with reason and determine the rolling force and relative convexity. The optimization methods currently used are empirical distribution method and the load curve method, but they both have drawbacks. To solve those problems we established a mathematical model of the finishing train and introduced an improved Genetic Algorithm. In this algorithm we used real number encoding, selection operator of a roulette and elitist selection and then improved crossover and mutation operators. The results show that the model and algorithm is feasible and could ensure the optimal effect and convergence speed. The products meet the production requirements. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.3892

Abstract

A simplified modeling of shielding cavity with a wire penetrated was established, in order to study the coupling effects of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) with different incident angles when the shielding cavity has a penetrated wire. Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) was applied to analyze the rule of variation of coupling current magnetic field on the penetrated wire, with the variation of angles of incident wave. Further study shows that the electromagnetic energy coupled by penetrated wire when incident wave radiates aslant is more than the coupling energy when incident wave radiates the target vertically in the condition of vertical polarized direction of electric field, and less in the condition of horizontally polarized direction of electric field. And compared with the situation of horizontal polarized direction of electric field, more electromagnetic energy is coupled when the direction of electric field is vertically polarized. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5014

Abstract

Multi digital output relative humidity and temperature sensors-SHT71 were set network monitoring points in the system, which can measure at any moment, timing, real-time temperature and relative humidity per point of the environment by-turn. Temperature-humidity value, dew-point value, date and time per point were displayed by lattice graphics LCM (Liquid Crystal Display Module) HY-12864K. At the same time, they were saved in nonvolatile FRAM (Ferroelectric Random Access Memory) FM31256, which can assure data do not lose after the power of the system fail. Acquired data can be uploaded directly to PC in the USB-HOST mode or be copied indirectly to PC far away from testing field by flash disk in the USB-DEVICE mode. The application software not only can draw temperature, humidity and dew-point curve and calculate maximum, minimum, average, but also can make further statistical analysis, report forms printing and set-up basic measure parameters of the system. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5114

Abstract

According to the characteristics of heterogeneous networks and user demand for seamlessly connection, the necessity of handoff to WLAN was researched.  First of all, in order to reduce the influence of shadow fading on received signal strength (RSS), a smoothing algorithm based on support functions was proposed. Then, considering the context of mobile terminals and networks, and by using probabilistic knowledge, we propose an adaptive vertical handoff algorithm based on compensating time. The simulation results show that, compared with two algorithms, the proposed algorithm can make more effective and accurate handoff decisions, reduce the ping-pong effect and interruption probability, thereby greatly improving handoff performance. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4276

Abstract

In order to improve the frequent itemsets generated layer-wise efficiency, the paper uses the Apriori property to reduce the search space. FP-grow algorithm for mining frequent pattern steps mainly is divided into two steps: FP-tree and FP-tree to construct a recursive mining. Algorithm FP-Growth is to avoid the high cost of candidate itemsets generation, fewer, more efficient scanning. The paper puts forward the new algorithms of weighted association rules based on Apriori and FP-Growth methods. In the same support, this method is the most effective and stable maximum frequent itemsets mining capacity and minimum execution time. Through theoretical analysis and experimental simulation of the performance of the algorithm is discussed, it is proved that the algorithm is feasible and effective. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4770

Abstract

In this paper, a new method of 3D model automatic annotation is proposed based on a two-dimensional Hidden Markov Model(2-D HMM). Growing importance in the last years Hidden Markov Models are a widely used methodology for sequential data modeling. Recent years, HMMs are applied to research of automatic annotation, such as images and models annotation. The three basic problems with HMM-liked model are also solved in our model. Our modeling process has two steps, those are training and testing. In the proposed approach, each object is separated into several bins by a spiderweb model and a shape function D2 is computed for each bin. These feature vectors are then arranged in a sequential fashion to compose a sequence vector, which is used to train HMMs. In 2-D HMM, we assume that feature vectors are statistically dependent on an underlying state process which has transition probabilities conditioning the states of two neighboring bins. Thus the dependency of two dimensions is reflected simultaneously. To classify an object, the maximized posteriori probability is calculated by a given model and the observed sequence of an unknown object. Comparing with the general HMM, 2-D HMM gets more information from the neighboring bins. So the system of 2-D HMM performs well on images and model annotation. Analysis and experimental results show that the proposed approach performs better than existing ones in database. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4946

Abstract

Based on the ant colony algorithm, urban real-time traffic optimal path algorithm was designed through restricting search area and search direction of ant colony system, making the real-time traffic and distance as the optimal path weights and regarding intersection turning as the impact of weight value combined with Chinese situation. The algorithm could calculate the optimal path through algorithm complexity test. We obtained a traffic optimal path with timeliness and practical value combined with ant colony algorithm considering multiple parameters. The obtained path enabled user to reach destination within a short time and with the least fuel through actual traffic test. It was regarded as the optimal path. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.3535

Abstract

Power system planning is according to the demand of the social and economic development, energy resources and load distribution, determine the reasonable power structure and strategy. Power grid voltage grade, transmission mode and reasonable space truss structure, etc. Although a large number of literature have studied various aspects of the power planning, but there are few literatures on power system planning comprehensive study, and just theoretical analysis, useless for practical application. This paper analyzes the load forecasting of power system planning, evaluation of power grid and economic evaluation, gives the basic data needed for the analysis and calculation, and provides theoretical guidance for the actual planning work. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5112
