Abstract

An integrity monitoring system is an inseparable part of global positioning system (GPS). According to the measurement noise feature of GPS receiver and the degeneracy phenomenon and alleviating the sample impoverishment problem in particle filter (PF). An approach to fault detection and isolation (FDI) for GPS receiver autonomous integrity monitoring (RAIM) based on genetic resampling particle filter is proposed. The genetic algorithm (GA) is melted into the re-sampling process of the basic particle filter to solve the particles degeneracy and impoverishment problem. A main GA-aided particle filter (GPF) is used to process all the  measurements to produce the optimal state estimate, several auxiliary GPFs are used to process subsets of measurements to produce the state estimate as detection references. By setting up the log-likelihood ratio (LLR) test to check the consistency of test statistics. The particles in GPF are assorted by weights, in order to reduce the computation complexity of the algorithm, only the lower weight particles participate in genetic operations.By collecting the GPS data from the GPS reciver, the feasibility and effectiveness of the RAIM approach is verified, and comparing with extended Kalman filter (EKF) and PF algorithm. The results show that the approach in the case of non-Gaussian measurement noise can estimate the state accurately, also can successfully detect fault satellite, therefore, improve the reliability of GPS positioning. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4879

Abstract

Research on the community detection in social tagging networks has attracted much attention in the last decade. Extracting the hidden topic information from tags provides a new way of thinking for community detection in social tagging networks. In this paper, a topic tagging network by extracting several topics from the tags through using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model is built firstly. Then a topic distance between users is defined, which depends on the bookmarking relationships between users and tags. Further, a modularity clustering approach based on the topic distance is proposed to detect communities in social tagging networks. Empirical studies on real-world networks demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively detect communities in tagging networks. DOI ; http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4170

Abstract

Ground level magnetic field from overhead transmission lines (OHTLs) is of increasingly important considerations in several research areas due to their harmful effect on human health and environment. This paper computes the ground level magnetic field, under normal and abnormal conditions of Egyptian 500-kV single circuit transmission line, in three dimension (3-D) coordinates by using 3-D integration technique. Abnormal conditions include symmetric fault, un-symmetric faults, direct stroke, and indirect stroke on the OHTL. Where, ATP software is used to simulate the OHTL under all faulty and lightning conditions. Varying time magnetic fields under normal and abnormal conditions, at certain points that located at mid-span, tower height and right-of-way (ROW), are also computed that to indicate the worst case. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5151

Abstract

Demand forecasting for port critical spare parts (CSP) is notoriously difficult as it is expensive, lumpy and intermittent with high variability. In this paper, some influential factors which have an effect on CSP consumption were proposed according to port CSP characteristics and historical data. And analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used to sieve out the more influential factors. Combined with the influential factors, a least squares support vector machines (LS-SVM) model optimized by particle swarm optimization (PSO) was developed to forecast the demand. And the effectiveness of the model is demonstrated through a real case study, which shows that the proposed model can forecast the demand of port CSP more accurately, and effectively reduce inventory backlog. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.3238

Abstract

Modern image measurement needs to take full advantage of sub-pixel edge information of images. This paper presents a sub-pixel edge detection method of color images based on image dimensionality reduction and the least square method. First of all we get the pixel level edge by Ostu algorithm and then combine gray processing algorithm based on color spatial distance and the least square method for sub-pixel edge location. Experimental results show that the algorithm positioning accuracy can reach 0.13 pixel which provides a basis for the selection of color image sub-pixel edge positioning. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4921

Abstract

The traditional manual counting wafers leaded to the silicon wafer cracked by operating frequently. Instead of the manual work, this paper proposed a system to counting wafers based on Machine Vision theory and Image Processing algorithm. We designed a counter system and adopted infrared led as parallel illumination source. In image pre-processing, this paper presented a series of algorithms, which contained image smoothing, uneven image correction and image morphology operation. This paper proposed a vertical projection counting based on statistics analysis substitute for the Hough straight lines detection, and the method had been achieved ideal effects by experimental results. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5108

Abstract

Dynamics of miniature unmanned helicopter are considered nonlinear and mutually coupled; therefore designing of a stable control becomes a big challenge for researchers. This paper addresses this issue by proposing a hybrid control methodology using both traditional and intelligent control. A 3DoF model helicopter system is used as a controlled platform. This hybrid control used PID as a traditional and fuzzy as an intelligent control so as to take the full advantage of advanced control theory. Proposed hybrid control is evaluated against the fuzzy and PID control through intensive simulation. Results verified that the proposed control has an excellent performance in static as well as dynamic environment as compared to individual PID and fuzzy control. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5091

Abstract

Dynamic deflection measurement is an important component to the bridge loading experiment or health monitoring. Using high-precision inclinometers to test the dynamic deflection is a good method for High-Speed Railway Bridge deflection measurement in this paper, we develop a kind of precision inclinometer which comprehensives the Capacitive sensor technology and the Servo sensor technology and has been called QY inclinometer. We also derive a new theory to calculate deflection based on inclination. Using eleven QY inclinometers and three Cable-Displacement sensors, we have done a comparison dynamic deflection measurement experiment on an arch bridge. Test results indicate: using inclinometers to measure dynamic deflection can achieve the same accuracy with Cable-Displacement sensor which can achieve 0.1 mm accuracy. Therefore, this experiment has proved Using high-precision inclinometers to measure dynamic deflection of bridge can satisfy the dynamic deflection measurement request of high-speed railway bridge. Comparing with other methods of dynamic deflection measurement, using high-precision inclinometers to measure dynamic deflection is very easy to operate, and also do not need find a static reference point. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4933
