Abstract

The heat exchange station of central heating system has been increasingly widely used as the intermediate hub connecting the heat source and heat users. If the specific temperature control requirements are not satisfied effectively and specifically, the security and stability of the primary network and quality of the secondary network will be affected directly. A temperature control scheme of the heat exchange station is presented based on intelligent three-states Pang-Pang. On the basis of mechanism analysis, we choose the average of supply and return water temperatures of secondary network as the controlled variable in presented temperature control scheme, which is equivalent to inducing the supply water temperature as the feedforward signal. The advantages of the intelligent three-state Pang-Pang control algorithm lie in improving the stability of the primary network, reducing the overshoot and accelerating the response of the secondary network. The application of the presented control scheme to the practical engineering shows that it not only implements the automatic control of the temperature of heat exchange station hence improves its control performance but also enhances and improves the controllability of the system effectively and especially has the referential and extending significance for heat exchange station transforming open-loop to closed-loop control. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.3538

Abstract

This paper develops and experimentally demonstrates an AC signal detection method in DC power system with a combination of a novel detection circuit and the wavelet neural network method. Aims at dealing with the travelling wave and fault signal cannot be detected accurately with the uncertainty of signal velocity when AC signal injected. In which, the injected AC signal in DC power system is detected via the current transformers and the voltage transformers distributed in different current loops. The acquired signal is taken as original fault signal while the sub-band energy function of wavelet packet decomposition is used as secondary characteristic and the minimum distance is used as the criterion in WNN method. Simulations are carried out to demonstrate the correctness and validity of the proposed method and which gives a good consistency with experimental test. Results show that the AC signals can be detected and located in DC power system accurately with the proposed method applied. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4206

Abstract

K-medoids clustering algorithm is used to classify data, but the approach is sensitive to the initial selection of the centers and the divided cluster quality is not high. Basic Artificial Fish Swarm Algorithm is a new type of heuristic swarm intelligence algorithm, but optimization is difficult to get a very high precision due to the randomness of the artificial fish behavior. A novel clustering method based on improved global artificial fish swarm is proposed in this paper by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of two algorithms, which has the ability to optimize the global clustering effect. The result of the experiment shows that quality of clustering is improved; the optimal central points and the clear division of data groups are obtained by the mathematical model combing improved fish swarm algorithm and K-medoids algorithm. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5110

Abstract

This paper aims to research the position control of the hydraulic cylinder controlled by the high-speed on-off valve to realize the precise position control. A compound algorithm of proportional integral & speed feedforward- displacement feedback is put forward based on the research on the relationship between the duty ratio and the past flow for the high speed on-off valve. The speed feedforward-displacement feedback algorithm can solve the hysteresis resulting from the feedback control and be considered as the certain duty ratio is given ahead, and the proportional integral control algorithm is designed and utilized to deal with the position error by adjusting to the duty ratio of high speed on-off valve. The genetic algorithm is used to tune the control parameters, including speed forward coefficient, proportional and integral coefficient of displacement feedback, output coefficient to gain the optimization result, on terms of the performance of the position control system. The mathematics modeling is analyzed and simulated with Simulink using the bulk-cavity-node method, and the hydraulic loop is established to verify the simulation result with the optimized results on the FESTO platform. the research finds that the proposed position scheme is effective to increase the position precision, and the position control parameters optimized by genetic algorithm can decrease the position error more. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4218

Abstract

Based on the research of the Kalman filter, a kind of H2/H∞filter is put forward which depends on the model. H2 filter assumes that the noise is white noise, but does not require the statistical properties, also ignores color noise. H∞ filter only considers the non-white and energy- limited noise. It can ensure the accuracy of the filter in worst frequency point, but doesn’t consider the influence of white noise. Synthesizing the advantages and disadvantages of H2 and H∞ filter scheme, H2/H∞hybrid filter devide the noise into the white noise and non-white noise of limited energy. Baed on norm analysis about the noise and system, the optimization index J is adopted as the optimization goal, and its physical meaning is given. The hybrid filter is designed by solving the corresponding Riccati Equation, the simulation and actual calculation example are given. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4935

Abstract

A lane detection algorithm for complex environment was proposed. It was concerned on selecting candidate lane region by object segmentation. Then redundancy edges were extracted by Sobel operator. Furthermore, candidate lane markers were obtained by threshold selection from the edges. Finally lane markers were detected by piecewise fitting. The proposed algorithm was simulated in MATLAB. Experiments showed that lane markers could be detected correctly. Piecewise linear transformation in preprocessing has enhanced performance of detection while the environment was dim. And limited region of interest helps to identification lane in an appropriate region, which have the effect of enhancement in the speed of operation. Feature-based method is usually affected by intensity of image. Several characteristics of roads need to be considered in further for detection more precisely. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.3240

Abstract

According to the characteristics and current situation of power transformer fault diagnosis , information fusion technology is introduced into this field of fault diagnosis of power transformer. By studying the general framework of information fusion fault diagnosis process, combined with the dissolved gas and electrical tests data,it is proposed a fault diagnosis method of information fusion which is based on fuzzy coding boundary and Bias regularization Levenberg Marquardt (LM) network. The algorithm uses a Bias approach to determine the hyper parameters, making the neural network adaptively adjust the parameter in the training process and getting the optimization parameters of the objective function . Combined with fuzzy coding boundary for feature attribute reduction to improve the accuracy of fault diagnosis .The contrast analysis of twice fusion results shows that the  fault diagnosis model of the transformer accurate rate is 89.83%. Finally , it proves the validity and practicability of this new diagnosis method. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4054

Abstract

The reliability of smart substations has a great significance on the safety and stability of smart grid operation. Taking the protection system in smart substation as an example, this paper constructs comprehensive reliability models to evaluate the reliability of smart substations with different architectures. The paper first illustrates two important aspects which affect the reliability of the protection system, namely the network architecture and the maintenance strategy. To satisfy these two aspects, the paper then adopt the Monte Carlo simulation combined with the Reliability Block Diagram method to make quantitative reliability analysis. At last, reliability of four power transformer protection systems applying different maintenance strategies with alternative architectures is evaluated. The simulation results show clearly that advanced maintenance strategies such as conditional maintenance will play a critical role in enhancing the reliability and availability of smart substation. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5109

Abstract

Key management play a central role for protecting communication in WSNs. Due to the limited memory resources and energy constraints, complex security algorithms cannot be used in sensor networks. Therefore, to secure data communication and well balance between the security level and the associated energy consumption is a challenging task. In this paper, we present an Improved Key management Scheme for Securing communication in Hierarchical Wireless Sensors Networks (IKS). The proposed technique based on symmetric key mechanism, generates and distributes the keys within a cluster efficiently and updates periodically keys to mitigate the node compromise attack. We provide a detailed security analysis of our IKS protocol and show its advantages in avoiding node capture attack and several serious attacks from malicious nodes. Finally, using NS-2 simulator, the results shows that IKS provides energy saving and has low communication overhead and end to end delay compared to existing key management schemes. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4241
