Abstract

In order to improve the recognition rate and accuracy of stored grain pests classification, saving classification time, a new recognition method based on the Gabor wavelet and sparse representation is proposed in this paper. In this paper, nine typical pests in the stored grain are regarded as the research object, Gabor energy features and morphological features are extracted, principal component analysis is used to reduction dimension and sparse representation is used to achieve the classification of stored grain pests. Simulation results show that, Gabor energy feature is a better choose for grain pests classification, and the overall performance of Gabor features and sparse representation is better than the traditional classification methods. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i6.4860

Abstract

In this paper a network QoS controller is designed. We use the controller to quantification ally control QoS under the random network traffic. The controller is built by min-plus algebra based on network calculus. The controller includes two parts, the lossless fractal regulator and the finite variable storage shaper (FVSS). We can get the arrival curve with the lossless fractal regulator. Then the FVSS control network traffic to realize the fine-gained QoS controller. At last, we analyze the performance of the network QoS controller. Research results show that the relationship between packet losses, packet delays and the buffer storage. We clearly observe the change of the packet loss and the packet delay with the storage of buffer. The results can be applied to evaluate the congestion and flow control strategies, as well as these are references to design network control device parameters. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i6.5484

Abstract

In this paper, a simplified Universal Serial Bus (USB) transceiver is designed, which is special used for mobile terminals such as smart mobile phone, IPad, smart sensor, and so on. The transceiver includes functions such as data serialization, bit stuffing, NRZI encoding and NRZI decoding, bit unstuffing, deserialization. The transceiver is designed and implemented with Verilog HDL in Modelsim. And the transceiver has been verified with FPGA and synthesized using 0.18um 1P6M CMOS process technology. The simulation and FPGA results show that the transceiver satisfies all design specification and can be used as an IP core for smart mobile terminals. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i6.5441

Abstract

Is EM algorithm parameter estimation under Rayleigh distribution sensitive to missing data and if it is, what extent is it? By designing computer simulation methods, contrast and analyze the results of maximum likelihood estimation with complete data and EM algorithm estimation under different missing rate in small sample. It shows that the results were almost identical when the missing rate is below 0.30, but the efficiency of EM parameter estimation gradually deteriorates as the missing rate increases. Meanwhile the results also show that the EM algorithm is sensitive to sample size and the selection of initial value. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i6.5491

Abstract

Current quality assessment methods of water parameters are mainly laboratory based, require fresh supplies of chemicals, trained staff and are time consuming. Sensor networks are great alternatives for such requirements. We present a practical application of wireless networks: a remote water monitoring system running TinyOS. The contents of several chemicals in the water are sensed and transmitted. The sensor data are collected and transmitted via ZigBee and GPRS. Instead of focusing on theoretic issues such as routing algorithms, network lifetime and so on, we investigate special techniques involved in the implementation of the system while employing TinyOS and its special programming language.

Abstract

The problem of optimal vibration control for vehicle active suspension systems under road rough-ness disturbance is considered. First, the models for two-degree-freedom quarter-car suspension systemunder road roughness disturbance are presented, and road disturbances are considered as the output of anexosystem. Then, the feedforward and feedback optimal vibration control (FFOVC) law for vehicle active sus-pension systems is obtained and the existence and uniqueness of the FFOVC is proved. A state observeris designed to solve the problem of the physically realizable for the feedforward compensator. Numericalsimulations illustrate the effectiveness of the FFOVC law. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i6.4380

Abstract

The disadvantage of patching algorithm is that the generating multicast flow disorder and cycle patch algorithm solved the above problems. Improved Batch processing cycle patch algorithm has better treatment effect for large scale emergency request, and has a good effect in demand on demand for hot programs or prime time, can effectively increase the number of users. The main function of the LiveMedia library is implemented on a variety of media types and coding format support. The paper presents development of video on demand server based on LiveMedia and improved cycle patch algorithm. The test curve showed that patch cycle algorithm can provide service for more users in the same bandwidth, can effectively increase the number of concurrent users. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i6.5015

Abstract

A Mixed Window Shrink and BayesShrink Image Denoising Algorithm Based on Curve let Transform is proposed in this paper. Curve let transform is effective in presenting line and surface property of image. In the proposed algorithm, Curvelet transform is employed for the first stage, then according the theory of image demising method based on Wavelet transform, we combine Window Shrink and BayesShrink denoising algorithm to perform noise reduction. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm is competitive to Wavelet transform in terms of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and denoising image quality.  DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i6.5479

Abstract

Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (TDMB) is one popular broadcasting standard that enable digital television transmissions to hand held receivers and cooperative system take advantage of the broadcast nature of wireless channels, uses relay stations as virtual antennas. Relay stations are an attractive solution to penetrate the wireless system with lower transmitting power at the Base station. In this paper, we presented a scheme can switch on/off the power weighting ratio between Base station and Relay station in TDMB cooperative Network. It will control the active relays in different channel propagations effectively. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i6.5399
