Abstract

It makes the topology of distribution network more complex to contain a lot of distribution generations (DGs) in it. For this reason, a fault location approach suitable to the distribution network containing DGs is proposed. Firstly, according to the results of power flow calculation, a database of voltage sag is established; then the power quality information is acquired by power quality monitors and correlation analysis on collected nodal voltage data and voltage sag data of the established database is performed; and then the node with the matching extent value most close to 1 is determined as the fault point. Simulation results of IEEE 33-bus system show that the proposed approach is effective and using the proposed approach the misjudgment can be prevented. Finally, the results of the analysis on the influences of different load models, transition resistances, connection and disconnection of DGs on the proposed approach show that the proposed approach possesses better robustness and reliability.

Abstract

One of the most significant current discussions in life is solar energy and has been in use since the beginning of time. Increasingly, man is learning how to yoke this important resource and use it to replace traditional energy sources. Recent developments in the field of solar energy have led to a renewed interest in Solar cells to store this energy and reproduce electricity. Unfortunately the amount of energy converted is very less, that is the efficiency of conversion is poor. The major problem is to improve the efficiency so that the losses can be minimized. In this project the Maximum Power Points are found and the Fill Factor is calculated. In this paper using MATLAB and SIMULINK model the comparison of silicon solar cell and type of panels is done.

Abstract

Due to physical limitations inherent in Magnetic resonance image (MRI) scanners, the inter-slice resolution of MRI is coarse. Thus, interpolation is often used to compensate it. MRI corresponds to a thin slice through the human body, and contains all the information in the slice. Based on this characteristic, a novel slice interpolation algorithm using disassemble-reassemble (D-R) method is proposed for doing MRI slice interpolation. The algorithm first disassembles all the information contained in MRI, and then reassembles them under a heuristic approach of neighborhood consistency to get higher inter-slice resolution. Series virtual images that imitate the characteristic of MRI were used to explain the principle of proposed algorithm, and the process of proposed algorithm was derived from detail analysis. Finally, we performed a large number of interpolation experiment and compared the proposed algorithm to several other interpolation techniques. Results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the other interpolation algorithms, which means the D-R method is more suitable for MRI interpolation.

Abstract

The phenomenon of network resource-constrained often appears in wireless sensor network (WSN) because of nodes with energy-limited, so it becomes a research topic to study on high-performance routing protocol in wireless sensor network. In accordance with the characteristic of quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO), a novel clustering routing protocol with QPSO algorithm is proposed based on the low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH), which includes several steps, such as determining the number of cluster-head, preliminary clustering, optimization on temporary cluster by QPSO algorithm, clustering after optimization, and so on. Comparative analysis on simulation experiments show that the proposed routing protocol is superior to that of LEACH, and saves energy consumption of network excellently and balances energy of nodes so as to prolong the life of the network.

Abstract

Aiming at the special structure of products with enclosed shell, the limitations of the usual methods are analyzed and concepts of axial subassembly and radial subassembly are proposed, the subassemblies are identified base on the adjacent matrix and interference matrix. A new kind of assembly relation matrix with the subassembly information is proposed to express the assembly model, the assembly transition probability in the ant colony algorithm is modified based on the assembly relation matrix and assembly precedence relations. The assembly sequence of products with enclosed shell can be planned rapidly with the algorithm aforementioned. Finally, the effectiveness was verified by an example.

Abstract

Considering the influence of the transient process of transient electromagnetic receiving coil on the early signals detection of the secondary field, as well as the great change and the various decay rates in different periods of the secondary field signals, which will affect the secondary field signal collection, we aim at designing a new receiver with the variable stored program control receiving coil, prefixed amplifying circuit, programmable amplifying circuit and high-performance analog-to-digital conversion circuit according to the underground coal mining environment, in which we apply the different sampling interval software and self-adaptive filtering algorithm to eliminate the influence of transient process and filter out the 50Hz power line interference, thus to increase the data collection ability and improve the detection result. The whole device is suitable for underground coal mining environment with a small volume.

Abstract

In the present study, genetic algorithm has been used to resolve the placement of wind turbines in a wind park giving maximum power and efficiency with minimum number of turbines. Unlike past approaches where each plot was subdivided into smaller square grids at the centre of which a turbine can be placed, the present study does not require division of the plot. Thus, a turbine now has more flexibility to be placed anywhere outside a radius of 200m of each other yielding better results. The case of unidirectional uniform wind is considered and 600 individuals evolve 3000 generations. Along with the optimal layout, fitness value, total power output, efficiency and number of turbines have also been reported. Comparison with results of earlier study and possible explanation is also provided.

Abstract

The three-level Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) inverter has become matured and widely used topology in high-power medium-voltage applications due to several advantages associated with it as compared to other available multilevel topologies. This paper presents a brief review on operation of three-level NPC inverter. Different modulation strategies used in NPC inverter is also discussed. The problem of neutral point voltage balancing with its solution is presented. Finally, the simulation and experimental results for three-level NPC inverter are given which validates the proper operation of this topology.

Abstract

The observer-based H-infinity controller design problem is considered for the networked control systems with uncertain network-induced delays and packet dropouts. The system states are reconstructed by introducing an observer and an augmented system model with time-varying delays is established. Based on the delay-dependent Lyapunov stability theory, a sufficient condition is proposed to ensure that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable with a guaranteed H-infinity performance level r. Since the obtained condition is nonlinear, the singular value decomposition method is applied to convert the nonlinear inequalities into LMIs. The delay-dependent approach shows a less conservative result than the delay-independent approach. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the high validity and merit of the proposed approach.

Abstract

Traditional Fuzzy C-means segmentation algorithm requires to set clustering number in advance, and to calculate image clustering center by the iterative arithmetic. So the traditional algorithm is sensitive to the initial value and the computation complexity is high. In order to improve the traditional Fuzzy C-means algorithm, this paper presents an infrared image segmentation method using adaptive Fuzzy C-means algorithm based on potential function. The presented algorithm can directly determine the optimal clustering number and clustering center for infrared image to be segmented by the potential function. After calculating the membership matrix of pixels in the infrared image by the fuzzy theory, the final segmented image is obtained through the fuzzy clustering. The experiments show that the presented algorithm in the paper could determine the optimal clustering number of the infrared image adaptively, and ensure the accuracy of segmentation, while significantly reducing the computation speed and complexity of the algorithm.
