Abstract

Non linear loads are highly effected by variations in voltages. Dynamic voltage restorer is one of the most popular compensating devices due to its low cost and better performance. Usage of Park’s transformation technique effectively reduces the rating of Dynamic voltage restorer. Application of fuzzy logic controller for getting the better result is proposed in this paper. The results are verified in Matlab/Simulink environment.

Abstract

In this paper we study the problem of combining low-level visual features for semantic image annotation. The problem is tackled with a two different approaches that combines texture, color and shape features via a Bayesian network classifier. In first approach, vector concatenation has been applied to combine the three low-level visual features. All three descriptors are normalized and merged into a unique vector used with single classifier. In the second approach, the three types of visual features are combined in parallel scheme via three classifiers. Each type of descriptors is used separately with single classifier. The experimental results show that the semantic image annotation accuracy is higher when the second approach is used.

Abstract

It is essential to alter effective electromagnetic parameters of a material to enhance its response. In the present work, we propose a novel Left Hand Metamaterial (LHM) structure comprising dual turn spiral resonator (DTSR) and capacitance loaded strips (CLS). This structure is numerically explored to examine the resonance and effective material parameters i.e. permeability and permittivity. The negative refraction in the unit cell is confirmed with identification of double negative region (negative permittivity, ε and negative permeability, µ ) on placing the unit cell in a waveguide with well defined Perfect Electric Conduction/Perfect Magnetic Conduction boundary conditions.

Abstract

As a result of the electric vehicles popularity and the development of vehicles intelligent, the number of vehicle sensors surge, meanwhile, many defects of traditional energy supply are increasingly prominent, such as pollution and maintenance difficulties. Taking into account the vehicle vibration exist everywhere, we use the piezoelectric technology to collect vibration energy, and designs a piezoelectric vibration energy harvesting system to be used to solve the energy problem of micro-power sensor. In this paper, the system structure and the theoretical model are analyzed, and the mathematical model of the system vibration frequency and the piezoelectric output have been put forward, then a piezoelectric energy harvesting device is designed on the basis of simulation analysis. Experiments have been done to test the performance of its power generation in the case of resonance. The results showed that the theoretical model proposed in this paper can be a good predictor of the output characteristics of the system. As the resonance frequency is 16.5 Hz, acceleration is 0.5g, the maximum open circuit voltage of the system obtained is 3.5 volts, the optimum load resistance is 425kΩ, and the vibration energy collection device maximum load power is 14 uW. Conclusion: Greater energy could be caught to meet the vehicle sensor power supply needs with the use of super capacitor.

Abstract

Secret knowledge, like remembering password or token based authentication systems are deemed inconvenience and difficult to use for users such as password may be forgotten or token may be lost. So burdens like remembering password and stolen or forged token based authentication have raised a current trend of biometric authentication system. Now in this current tech world, everyone needs security everywhere to protect our personal gadgets.  So to keep it secured, biometric based approach can be applied for better convenience and ease of use for the user. In this paper, a novel hybrid multimodal approach for ear recognition and finger print recognition has been presented for better robustness and efficiency which can be applied in various fields of applications like authentication in banking transactions. Biometric based human recognition is rapidly gaining popularity due to breached of traditional security systems and the lowering cost of sensors. This paper comprehensively reviews multimodal recognition using ear pattern and finger print data, it is concluded that further research should investigate fast and fully automatic ear-finger print multimodal systems robust to occlusions and deformations.
