Abstract

Virtual money is an actual money that a person own but in a form of a plastic card, an online account and a token or a ticket. Referring to the cash-base system, it is full of fraud and money scam activity. It even happens in a smaller division of a human population which are among family members. For example, when a child decided to do a money scam towards their parents by asking for extra money for what they actually needed to pay for school internal fee and with today’s technology, they can easily recreate a receipt of the payment based on the amount of money they have scammed. In this Cashless Payment Transaction (CPaT) in a school based on Low Frequency (LF) RFID Technology system, the system offers a virtual money transaction in the plastic card form and allows the transaction to be monitored by parents with the help of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, MySQL database and Email notification system. The MySQL database is paired with the PHP prgramming language  where the calculation for deduction credit will be done before being updated to the RFID card and MySQL database. As a result, the system will allow a cash-free transaction for school payment activity and allow parents to monitor their child spending activity and nutrition intake via MySQL database that are designed based on Graphical User Interface (GUI) within one minute after the transaction is successfully done.

Abstract

This paper presents study on optimizing RF signal detection and alert system for restricted area. Nowadays, mobile phone utilization is very common among youngsters. Despite of being very useful for educational purpose, it turns into a noteworthy issue while being smuggled into restricted area, such as examination hall and used as a cheating tool. To overcome this problem, an advancement on the detection and alert system of active mobile phone was proposed by implementing RF signal detection system optimization using multi-band dipole antenna and alert system utilizing LED and camera. The system demonstrated higher sensitivity to 3G signal followed by GSM and Wi-Fi with the decrease in voltage value across the LED when distinguishing 3G, GSM and Wi-Fi signal with the estimation of 2.316 V, 1.162 V and 1.054 V respectively. The alert system was improved by activating LED and camera instead of buzzer in displaying the region of the active mobile phone. The camera was able to effectively capture the conceivable cheating area when active mobile phone is present. The images of the potential cheating region can be recovered from the computer. This framework can assist the invigilators with being cautioned to the potential regions of cheating using mobile phone.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the favored video applications in video use, compatible techniques and technology to accommodate the learning styles of moral education students in Teacher Education Institutes. This study is also to explore the contents of lesson suit to technology preferred by students in learning Moral Education. This is a case study in where data were collected through interviews. Six semester four students were chosen through purposive sampling from two Teacher Education Institutes in Malaysia. The constructs and internal validity were verified by experts while the external validity was verified through support from existing studies and theories. Data of the study were analyzed by using the Nvivo software to identify the features of favored video, compatible techniques and contents of lesson suit to technology that enhance the quality of teaching and learning of Moral Education to students. The Physiological Stimulus of Dunn and Dunn Learning Styles Model was used as guidance in the interviews because this model was the most suitable to be applied to students with Physiological Stimulus. The results of the analysis showed that short videos with suitable musics and short duration are the favored video for moral education students in teacher education institutes that enabled students to memorize the content knowledge. This research could be the learning guidelines on the use of videos and consequences activities of the shown videos that accommodate the learning styles of moral education students in Teacher Education Institutes which could be used by instructors in their professional practice in the lecture room.

Abstract

Detection of primary brain tumors is inspired by the necessity of high accuracy as it deals with human life. Various imaging modalities techniques have incarnated as a tool in diagnosis and treatment domain. Yet, experienced and competent medical practitioners for the proper interpretation are still required. Thus, the involvement of information technology is highly demanded in introducing reliable and accurate computer systems. This study presents an algorithm for nosologic segmentation of primary brain tumors on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) brain images. Nosologic refers to the classification of diseases that can facilitate the diagnosis of neurological diseases. The purpose of segmentation is to highlight the tumor areas, whereas classification is used to identify the type of the primary brain tumors. For this purpose, an algorithm which hybridized the Grey Level Co- occurrence Matrices (GLCM), Intensity Based Analysis (IBA), Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Clustering Algorithm (CAPSOCA) is proposed. The combination of several computer vision techniques is aim to deliver reproducible nosologic segmentation of primary brain tumors which are gliomas and meningiomas. The performance of the CAPSOCA is quantified by two measurements which are segmentation and classification accuracy. The segmentation accuracy is evaluated using comparison with ground truth approach. On the other hand, the classification accuracy is quantified using a truth table by comparing the classification outcomes with histopathology diagnosis. Upon the testing conducted, the CAPSOCA was proven to be an effective algorithm for nosologic segmentation of primary brain tumors. It appeared to return 88.09% of overall mean accuracy for gliomas segmentation, 86.92% of overall mean accuracy for meningiomas segmentation. In another note, 83.72% and 85.19% of classification accuracy for gliomas and meningiomas were observed.

Abstract

This paper presents a Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) to solve Dynamic Economic Load Dispatch (DELD) problem with valve-point effects and piecewise fuel options. DELD aims to find out optimum generation schedule of the committed generating units over a certain timing period, sustaining practical constraints and power demands in each interval. Due to the valve-point effect and piecewise fuel options DELD becomes as complex problem, hence in order to achieve the cost reduction and satisfying the dynamic behaviour of the generating units proposed algorithm presented.  The practicality of the proposed method is evaluated by performing simulations on standard 10-unit and 19-unit Indian utility systems for a 24 h time schedule at various load patterns. The simulation results attained by the FPA are related with other previous published techniques of the biography. These results clearly show that the proficiency and robustness of the proposed FPA method for resolving the non-linear constrained DELD problem.
