Abstract

This paper presents a novel methodology using coupled inductor for hybridizing multi input sources. A four port three input dc-dc converter is chosen, two photovoltaic sources and a storage medium are interfaced with the converter. The two sources can supply the load as well as charge the battery. Four independently controlled switches are employed to provide dc regulated output. The hybridization of the sources and converter is achieved by coupled inductors. The results show that the presence of coupled inductors increases the voltage gain and reduces the switching stress. The proposed system is verified and validated in MATLAB environment under various operating condition.

Abstract

Demand on capacity and band width increasing day-by-day in the area of wireless communication. One of the solutions is utilization of frequency bands for broadband communication that is related to satellite communication. Mostly Ka-band is used in satellite communication. In this paper, an attempt is taken to design an optimized resonant-cap Ka-band oscillator. To obtain oscillation from Ka-band IMPATT device. It has been embedded in a resonant cavity for which resonant cap structure is used. From this study, it is found that the supply D.C voltage from the top of the diode provides a matching network between the diode and the load to achieve maximum power. Keeping the breakdown voltage of the IMPATT diode fixed, the variation of bias current helps for detailed study and mechanically tuning has been done with variation of cap height, Cap diameter as well as by varying the position of the short using sliding short tuner and verified experimentally. Optimization result is made to get maximum output with maximum efficiency for an optimized cap height, diameter, and position of sliding short tuner. With these facts the work is presented difference tuning methods for resonant cap IMPATT oscillator.

Abstract

In the current scenario demand of power is increasing day by day with increasing population. On the other hand energy crisis is also a main issue of today’s life and all there is a shortage of conventional energy resources due to its large usage. So, we have to sort out this problem with a technique which will not only overcome this energy crisis but also should be eco-friendly. Many conventional resources are creating pollution so that’s why focus is towards eco-friendly solution. This project emphasizes on idea which shows that power could be generated by specially designed speed breakers. A large amount of kinetic energy is being wasted on roads on daily basis in different forms which could be use to generate power and this power can be stored in batteries. This project shows clearly how we can generate power by using rack-pinion method where basically linear motion is converted into rotatory motion and then can be used to generate electricity. Large amount of electricity can be generated using this method and this method is eco-friendly.

Abstract

There are many power electronic converters and motor drives connected together to form the electrical system of an Electric Vehicle. In this paper, we have presented a modeling tool that has the advantages of utilizing capabilities of the PMSM software in detailed simulations of converters, motor drives, and electric machines. In addition, equivalent electrical models of Electric Vehicle drive system. This paper also gives a brief idea of PMSM validity as an Electric Vehicle simulation tool. PMSM drive system is described and analyzed due to its importance in many applications especially in Electric Vehicle applications. Applications due to their high efficiency, low inertia and high torque to volume ratio. In this paper we embody the simulation of Fuzzy Logic Controller. The controller govern the speed control of Electrical Vehicle EV using permanent magnet synchronous motor PMSM. This work characterizes to obtain the optimal parameters of FLC. Biogeography Based Optimization (BBO) is a new intelligent technique for optimization; it can be used to tune the parameters in different fields. The main contribution of this work efforts the ability of BBO to design the parameters of FLC by determining the shapes of triangle memberships of the inputs and output. The results of optimal controller (BBO-FLC) compared with the other controllers designed by Genetic Algorithm GA which it is a powerful method has been found to solve the optimization problem. The implementation of BBO algorithm has been done by M-file/Matlab, this program linked with SIMULINK to calculate the finesses function which has the complete mathematical system model has implemented using. The results show the excellent performance of BBO-FLC compared with GA-FLC and PI controller, also the proposed method was very fast and need a few number of iterations. These results also confirmed that the transient torque and current never exceed the maximum permissible value.
