The performance of Radial Distribution System (RDS) is enhanced by maintaining the appropriate Penetration Ratio (PR) of Distributed generation. However, it has been observed that Penetration Ratio cannot be useful to analyze the impact of a Microgrid on performance of RDS. Hence a new index ‘Relief Factor’ (RF) is defined in this paper and the impact of Microgrid at different RF is studied. This paper presents an approach to compute daily energy losses variation when Microgrids of varying RF are connected to RDS having different maximum demands. A methodology has been proposed for finding optimal RF and location of Microgrid. In addition, the impact of maximum demand of RDS on optimum RF is analyzed. This paper gives the novel concept of assessing the RDS for integration of Microgrid based on maximum demand of RDS as well as Microgrid and sizing of Microgrid based on optimum Relief Factor.

Insider threat is a significant challenge in cybersecurity. In comparison with outside attackers, inside attackers have more privileges and legitimate access to information and facilities that can cause considerable damage to an organization. Most organizations that implement traditional cybersecurity techniques, such as intrusion detection systems, fail to detect insider threats given the lack of extensive knowledge on insider behavior patterns. However, a sophisticated method is necessary for an in-depth understanding of insider activities that the insider performs in the organization. In this study, we propose a new conceptual method for insider threat detection on the basis of the behaviors of an insider. In addition, gated recurrent unit neural network will be explored further to enhance the insider threat detector. This method will identify the optimal behavioral pattern of insider actions.

Recently MRF damper -which has a significant controllable damping force - used frequently in many active and semi-active suspension systems. However, MRF damper needs controller to estimate the desired force to dissipate the occurred vibration instantaneously. PID controller is one of the effective feedback controllers which shows robustness and simplicity in control MRF dampers, but still the parameters of the PID controller under study to find out the optimum values. This study focused on the vibration control using Magneto-rheological (MR) damper on a FSAE quarter car suspension test rig to study and obtain the optimum running condition. The test rig was designed, modified and then tested using a P-controller integrated with MR damper, unbalance mass used as disturbance and analyzed using LABVIEW software in time and frequency domains. The natural frequency obtained was 2.2 Hz were similar to the actual FSAE car natural frequency. Based on the acceleration against time graph with different proportional gain value the optimal value for proportional gain, Kp was 1. Hence, the experiment work could be used as the initial stage to study and develop a robust controller to suppress vibration on a car.

This paper presents a compact microstrip ultra-high frequency (UHF) reader patch antenna with complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) for radio frequency identification (RFID). The total size of the antenna is 208 × 208 × 1.6 mm3. The proposed antenna is designed, fabricated and measured in order to verify the proposed concept. The characterization for radiation parameters, like return loss, radiation pattern and antenna gain have been done experimentally. The proposed antenna is operated at 921 MHz for and achieved a gain of 8.285 dBi. All simulations in this work have been carried out by means of the commercial computer simulation technology (CST) software. In compare to the simulated results, the measured outcomes are promised.

Storage Area Network (SAN) could be a dedicated storage network which carries the info between servers and storage devices. SAN offers flexibility to implement and share data between servers and remote devices instead of the traditional method that reduced the performance of service. This paper improves SAN backup method to increase the CPU utilization and reduce the load on the link; the result shows that the improved method is better than of traditional in terms of response time in FTP about 36% while the traffic data is about 3%.

Indoor air purifier (IAP) has been developed by various companies worldwide to address indoor air pollution. The manufacturers of these air purifiers rarely concentrate in controlling the rotation speed of the fan which results in the use of traditional control techniques wherein some still relies on human intervention. In this paper, Fuzzy Logic (FL) was applied to control the rotation speed of the fan of an indoor air purifier. The system automatically maintains a suitable fan speed based on the fuzzy values generated on the current environmental condition. The series of testing conducted using the system showed a very high accuracy in the interpretation of dust concentration to its equivalent Air Quality Index (AQI) levels of health concern. For each detected AQI, the system was able to regulate the voltage coming into a motor that controls the speed of the fan. The usage of the fuzzy logic fan controller in the indoor air purifier fan reduced the energy consumption by 41.67%.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is predicted to be one of the major megatrends in technology that applies worldwide including in Malaysia. Current advantages and expectations of using a connected device has become a reason to use applications in many areas, including the field of retail industry. The evolvement of technology has changed the retail landscape that replaces the manpower in their operations to improve the efficiency, quality and work ethics. Hence, this paper discussed comparative study of technology innovation applied and process flow in unmanned store from different country. Next, prototype of unmanned store apps was designed according to the most preferred technology based on the comparative study. IoT retailer model can be used to improve the retail experience for the customers. Thus, it may perform strategic marketing and gain retail intelligence. Besides, the revolution of using technology in this retail industry is contributing towards Industry 4.0 through digital transformation.

This paper classifies the basic power system parameters based on sensitivity and performance capability. This is the basic step in selecting the suitable parameter for intelligent islanding detection technique. The behaviour of basic power system parameters is analyzed using wavelet transform under all possible islanding and non-islanding conditions. In wavelet transform, the mother wavelet plays a significant role in the extraction of parameter features. The db4 mother wavelet is selected after an extensive analysis on different mother wavelets. As a result, it has been found that the extracted feature of reactive power shows the highest capability to distinguish islanding from non-islanding events.

Real estate forecasting has become an integral part of the larger process of business planning and strategic management in real estate sector. This study covers residential estate markets and concentrates on property types, while previous studies that have considered country wide house price indices. There is a gap identified in the literature which need to study correlations between property types within a region or a city and whether they will provide diversification benefits for real estate investors such as risk reduction per unit of returns. This aim of the paper is to propose and develop a computer assisted real estate property price forecasting model. This proposed framework will examine the current uses of artificial intelligence, particularly combining case base reasoning and artificial neural network, in the business-forecasting field and considers suitable applications in real estate. The methodology consists of five phases: 1) Data gathering b) Data cleaning c) ANN Training d) CBR (Case Base Reasoning) similarity retrieval e) Result retrieval. This research will investigate the influence of residential real estate property characteristics on property values (prices) in global context, it revealed a high positive linear correlation between property characteristics and the property market values; an indication that these characteristics reasonably predict property market values. The results of the study will enable Real Estate Professionals to make fair estimates of the market values of residential real estate properties given the features/characteristics of such housing units.

This paper presents the Least Mean Square (LMS) noise canceller using uniform poly-phase digital filter bank to improve the noise can-cellation process. Analysis filter bank is used to decompose the full-band distorted input signal into sub-band signals. Decomposition the full-band input distorted signal into sub-band signals based on the fact that the signal to noise ratio (S/N) is inversely proportional to the signal bandwidth. Each sub-band signal is fed to individual LMS algorithm to produce the optimal sub-band output. Synthesis filter bank is used to compose the optimal sub-band outputs to produce the final optimal full-band output. In this paper, m-band uniform Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) digital filter bank has been used because its computational complexity is much smaller than the direct implementation of digital filter bank. The simulation results show that the proposed method provides the efficient performance with less and smooth error signal as compared to conventional LMS noise canceller.
