Abstract

Pakchoy (Brassica Chinensis L) or sawi sendok is one type of vegetabel which is much needed by Indonesian. Organik pakchoy cultivation could be done on limited land by using polybags. This research aims to know the impact of media volume and application of liquid fertilizer towards growth and yield of pakchoy plantation in the polybags. This research has been done at Desa Pojok, Kecamatan Mojogedang, Kabupaten Karanganyar on April 1 till May 6 2017. This research are using a complete randomized design with two different treatment. The first factor, media with code (B), consists of 3 extent i.e. B1 = 2 kg media (placed on 20x20 polybag size), B2 = 3 kg media (placed on 25x25 polybag size) and B3 = 4 kg media (placed on 35x35 polybag size). The media is soil mixed with solid organik fertilizer with proportion 1 : 1. The second treatment factor is the application interval of liquid organik fertilizer, coded as (P) consists of P0 = without treatment, P1 = once every five days, P2 = once every ten days. The result shows that : (1) The weight of the media has no significant effect toward height of the plant, the length of leaves, leaf width and dry weight of the plant, but it has distinctive impact on the number of leaves also fresh weight of the plant and the pakchoy consumption weight. (2) The application interval of liquid organik fertilizer has no significanteffect toward height of the plant and the length of leaves, it has effect toward leaf widht and dry weight of the plant also the number of leaves, fresh weight of the plant and consumption weight. (3) The combination of both treatment (weight of the media and application interval of liquid organik fertilizer) has no significant interaction with all of the growth parameters.

Abstract

Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. vanillae is a pathogenic fungi for vanili plants. The fungi have chitin cell wall that can be degraded by chitinase from chitinolytic  Rhizoctonia binucleate of fungi. Aim of this research was determine how the interaction between the  F. oxysporum f.sp. vanillae  and Rhizoctonia binucleate were isolated from plant rizosfere. Chitinolytic activity were measured based on the clear zone around the colony in chitin medium. Interaction of fungi were determined by an antagonistic test. This research showed that Rhizoctonia binucleate  is  chitinolytic,  antagonist and alternative of biofungiside to F.oxysporum f.sp. vanillae.

Abstract

Sorgum is currently a commodity that is a government program in food diversification in Indonesia because it includes the most potential as a substitution of rice. In addition to its equivalent nutritional content of rice also has the advantage of being able to grow in a hot environment, less fertile, and limited water and even sandy land (Yanuwar, 2002, Sirrapa, 2003). Sorgum is needed by consumers with special needs other than because glutenous free food, low glycemic index (Sungkono et al., 2009). The development of the sorghum plant is the main alternative that needs to be pursued to meet the increasing demand for food while fertile land is decreasing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of composite fertilizer dosage on growth and Sorgum yield on Vertisol soil. This study used a Completely Randomized Block Design (RAKL) with 6 fertilizer doses (0, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120kg / ha NPK Ponska). This research was conducted on Vertisol soil in Sukoharjo regency. The results showed that the dose of Composite fertilizer had significant effect on growth and yield and Sorgum sugar level, but did not affect the weight of 1000 seeds. Composite Dosage 60 kg / ha is the highest dose that can be given to Vertisol Sukoharjo soil to increase the highest yield of Sorgum seed.

Abstract

Application of organic farming of rice in generally used local varieties, while improved varieties are rarely used. Local and improved varieties of rice have different agronomic characters so if growth will be different of organic culture. The purpose of this study was to analyze the growth of local and improved varieties of rice under organic culture. The experiment was conducted in irrigated soil with inceptisol, altitude 114 m asl in Kebonagung, Imogiri, Bantul. The design used was randomized completely block design factorial 2 factors was repeated 3 times. The first factor was the kinds of farming, i.e. organic farming and conventional farming and the second factor was the kinds of varieties of rice comprising 5 different varieties of rice which consisted of Mentikwangi, Pandanwangi and Cianjur as local varieties and IR64 and Cisedane as improved varieties. The parameters observed leaf area index (LAI), age of leaf area (ALA), specific leaf weight (SLW), net assimilation rate (NAR), relative growth rate (RGR), and crop growth rate (CGR). The results of this study show that (1) the increasing age of the plant, then the ratio of LAI, ALA, NAR, RGR, and CGR between organic and conventional farming has decreased, (2) NAR  there is a close relationship with the SLW, (3) RGR there is a close relationship with the  ALA, SLW, and NAR, (4) CGR there is a close relationship with the SLW and NAR.
