Abstract

Noise exposure can occur at any time and interfere with a person's psychological and biological condition. Alternative materials from banana midrib and soybean dregs can be used as sound absorbers based on their characteristics and abundance. This research aims to analyze the optimal composition for sound-absorbing composite materials from banana midrib and soybean dregs and the effect of adding a layer of varnish to its absorption capacity. The method includes the manufacture of the sample, the impedance tube, the box acoustic approach, and the CCD test. The drying process of banana midrib is divided into two types, namely those that are dried in the sun and oven with the banana midrib having gone through a 5% NaOH immersion process before drying. The application of varnish on the sample used the cold spray technique so the layer is not thick and provides durability and resistance to the sample. The impedance tube was carried out to analyze the value of the sound absorption coefficient of the sample at several frequencies which were then averaged. After being tested with the box acoustic approach, the sample has the ability to reduce sound when applied to the walls of the room with an average percentage decrease of 10.84%. Through the CCD test, it is known that the size and number of pores distribution affects the sound absorption capacity. Banana midrib and soybean dregs can be used as an alternative to sound absorbers with the average value meeting the ISO 11654 standard, which is 0.15.

Abstract

The people in Lamdingin village rely on aquaculture activities as their livelihood. The commodities cultivated in the pond are milkfish, tilapia, and shrimp. Water quality conditions have a significant role in the success of fish farming. Water as a living habitat for cultivated fish must be in optimal conditions in terms of quantity and quality. Therefore, water quality is the important factor in fish farming. This study aims to determine water quality based on parameters of brightness, temperature, salinity, and pH in milkfish ponds in Lamdingin village. Sampling and measurement were carried out at 09.00 in the morning for one week. Brightness was measured using a Secci disk, the temperature was measured using a digital thermometer, salinity was measured using digital salinity, and pH was measured using a pH meter. The results showed that the brightness, temperature, salinity and pH were 27.42 cm, 28.5 0C, 30.25 ppt and 7.42, recpectively. These results meet the Indonesian National Standard (SNI).

Abstract

The ability of students to achieve learning objectives can be measured by conducting an assessment. There are various forms of assessment, and the assessment in the form of a testlet is believed to have advantages in identifying the students' conceptual understanding achievements. This study aims to develop a testlet model physics instrument that is valid, reliable, and feasible to use. The development procedure used is 4D which consists of 4 stages, namely: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. However, this research is reduced to 3D only limited to the Develop stage. The research was conducted in a high school located in the city of Semarang. The small-scale trial sample involved 20 students who were selected using a random sampling technique. The results showed that the content validity analysis by the expert obtained an average result of 0.9 in the valid category. The results of the small-scale product test analysis showed that 92% of the items were declared valid and 8% of the items were declared invalid. The question is declared to have very high reliability with a value of 0.974. Analysis of the level of difficulty obtained criteria for 8% difficult questions and 92% moderate questions. The discriminating power of the questions shows the percentage of 2% of the questions being rejected, 2% of the questions being corrected, 2% of the questions being accepted well with improvements, and 94% of the questions being well-accepted.

Abstract

Water is an important need in human life which is a natural resource which must be maintained availability. Changes in the land usage and weather can cause changes in the condition of water sources. These changes can affect the availability of water. Currently the river  in Kranji Village, Kedungwuni Timur District, Pekalongan Regency, has decreased in quantity. If efforts to protect and repair the springs are not carried out, it can lead to the lost of water source. To better understand the problem of water availability in Kranji Village, East Kedungwuni District, Pekalongan Regency, it is necessary to conduct research that aims to determine the condition of water availability. The research was conducted by collecting data and information that can be used in the analysis of water availability. The data obtained in the form of secondary data, namely data from BMKG. The data were then be analyzed with the influence of climate change.  The results showed that the rainfall in the Kranji Village area from 2011-2016 experienced fluctuations in regional rainfall. In 2017-2020 the rainfall rate in the region decreased to 91.8 mm. Design rainfall data in the Kranji Village area from 2011-2020 has an average Log X of 1.972.  The amount of surface water has increased to 19% in the 10th year, reached 28.5% in the 15th year and reached 39% in the 20th year which were generated from the 2011-2020 study. Due to climate change, the mainstay flood discharge from runoff is estimated to decrease drastically, as well as rainwater that will seep into groundwater.

Abstract

This study aims to produce e-learning teaching materials that can be used to improve students' conceptual understanding. Teaching materials were made using scratch, which are integrated into web with the subject of physics subject waves for class XI. The type of research was Research and Development. The teaching materials developed have been implemented on a small scale, which was class XI students at MA Uswatun Hasanah Semarang. Data collection was carried out by giving the teacher a feasibility sheet for teaching materials. Data on students' conceptual understanding abilities were obtained from the results of pretest and posttest on a small scale, namely students of class XI MA Uswatun Hasanah Semarang and by looking for student or teacher responses to the teaching materials developed. Based on the experts and teachers’ assessment, the teaching materials developed were feasible. The implementation of teaching materials in physics learning on wave materials showed that the increase in students' conceptual understanding in the experimental class by using scratch-assisted e-learning teaching materials got a score of 0.52 (medium) better than the control class which used student worksheets to get a score of 0,34 (medium). In addition, students and teachers responded well to the developed teaching materials.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pattern of problem formulation skills and hypothesize students of class XI MIPA at SMAN 2 Grabag and SMA Islam Sudirman Pakis. The research design is qualitative research. The technique used in the data collection was an interview technique with 20 students and two physics teachers, as well as documentation during the research. Before the interview, the students observed 3 physical phenomena, namely (1) phenomenon 1 regarding the effect of oxygen on the flame of a candle, (2) phenomenon 2 regarding water surface pressure on razor blades and needles, (3) phenomenon 3 regarding eggs that put in various solutions with different density. The data analysis technique was qualitative analysis. Based on the research, all students were able to formulate problems according to the video of the observed phenomena, and based on the problem formulation proposed by the students found that there are three patterns of problem formulation in phenomenon 1, two patterns of problem formulation in phenomenon 2, and three patterns of problem formulation in phenomenon 3, with all problem formulation patterns proposed by students being problem formulations that correspond to each previously observed phenomenon. This shows that all students have good problem formulation skills, it can be seen that students can identify problems in each video phenomenon and ask them in the form of questions. The results showed 2 question words, those are "why" as much as 77% and the question word "what" as much as 23%. Students who formulate problems using the question word "why" can be categorized at the formal operational stage and students who formulate problems using the question word "what" can be categorized at the concrete operational stage. This difference in students' cognitive development can be a guide for teachers to use a student-focused learning model.
