It is interested in the study of curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment, as well as economic, cultural and political aspects related to the role of vocational and professional education and training in society.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of using the Multisim 12 software as a learning medium to achieve the student learning outcomes in electronic engineering competency standards. In this research, the researchers used experimental research to determine the effect of a treatment in a learning process. The subject of this research was the Electronic Engineering students of the State Vocational High School 1 of Ampelgading Pemalang. The researcher involved 72 students of class X as the sample. Before data collection, the researchers conducted observations and interviews, followed by the preparation and validation of research instruments. The research instrument validation was determined by expert judgment. After that, it was tested to the students by the pre-test and post-test. In data analysis, the researchers applied the t-test using the SPSS program as a technique to analyze the learning outcomes. The results of this research showed that the Multisim 12 software was effective to be used as a learning media to analyze semiconductor diode components. It was proved by the increase in the student learning outcomes from the analysis results using SPSS. The Regression Coefficient test (t-test) result showed that the t-count of 8.713 was smaller than the t-table of 2.000.

Abstract

Learning activities are a system that is deliberately planned with the modification of various conditions that are directed so that the objectives contained in the curriculum can be achieved, in the implementation of the learning process in Vocational High Schools (SMK) there are many problems that arise from various factors supporting the learning process starting from students as students, teachers as educators, methods as a means of delivering the subject matter, learning support facilities and school policies that can affect the smoothness of the learning process. Selection of the right learning media can improve learning outcomes as well as the elaboration of new habits by developing soft skills of students themselves by using e-modules for class XII TKRO 4 and those who do not use e-module XII TBSM 2 at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Kuningan for the academic year 2020/ 2021. The purpose of this research is to develop an E-Module on Industrial Culture Materials with a Problem Base Learning learning model to improve students' soft skills. This study uses research and development or R and D methods. The design chosen is ADDIE, which includes five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research uses various instruments, namely (1) a feasibility assessment sheet for e-modules; (2) e-module practicality questionnaire; and (3) a questionnaire on the effectiveness of the e-module to measure the soft skills of class XII TKRO 4 and XII TBSM 2 students at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Kuningan. The data analysis used is (1) categorical to determine the feasibility level of the e-module; (2) Guttman's categorization to determine the level of practicality of e-modules, using the coefficients Kr and Ks; and (3) N-Gain and different N-Gain tests using t-test, to determine the effectiveness of the e-module on student learning outcomes. Based on the feasibility test, practicality test, and the effectiveness test of the e-module, the industrial culture material developed, according to the responses of media experts and material experts, obtained the criteria for a very feasible e-module response. Responses from teachers and students as user responses to the practicality test of the e-module obtained very practical assessment criteria. And from the effectiveness test in the experimental class, the e-module obtained effective and significant criteria for improving the soft skills of class XII TKRO 4 and XII TBSM 2 students at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Kuningan.

Abstract

Covid 19 pandemic influenced the learning process and brought traditional classes to online classes. This condition made the XI grade of Computer Networking students got difficulty in the examination at school.  The students were not ready because of the absence of learning media that provided students with the material. The current research aimed to develop and analyse the feasibility, practicality, and also effectiveness of information systems for XI-grade students of Computer Engineering and Networking. The researcher adopted RnD with the ADDIE approach, and twenty students became the participants of the research. Media experts and material experts were involved in examining the product. An information system was implemented in the first group of the networking installation subject.    The data collection used need analysis, the feasible test questionnaire of information system, pre-test, and post-test. The researcher applied mean, percentage descriptive analysis, Paired sample t-Test, and N-Gain as data analysis of the research.  The result showed 1) the feasible test of information system achieved 4,79 for the media, or it was categorized as very feasible. Furthermore, the product gained 4,71 for the material, or it said very feasibly. 2) The practicality of the information system showed an overall average score was 97% of the practicality criteria. 3) Information system media was declared effective in increasing students’ competency with an average N-gain score achieved 73% or stated as quite effective.

Abstract

Vocational High School is an institution that prepares skilled workers. The National Education System Law states that competency certificates are given by education and training institutions to participants as an acknowledgment of their competence, administered by an accredited education unit or certification institution. The selection of this scheme can increase the graduate competency significantly. The present study aims at simplifying and improving graduate competency. The instrument used in the present study is an assessment sheet on the website media of the Level II Certification scheme from 7 clusters to 40 units; and a questionnaire to measure the graduate competence of grade XII TKR students at SMK Negeri 1 Semarang. The data analysis used in this research is categorical to determine the level of feasibility of the website media for the Level II Certification scheme from 7 clusters to 40 units; and N-Gain and the different N-Gain test using the t-test, to determine the effectiveness of the website media for the Level II Certification scheme from 7 clusters to 40 units on the graduate competency. Based on the feasibility test and the effectiveness test according to the responses given by the experts, the criteria for the responses were very feasible. From the effectiveness test in the experimental class, the module obtained quite effective and significant criteria used by students to improve the graduate competence.

Abstract

The implementation of Field Work Practice (PKL) has experienced several problems, one of the problems is that students experience confusion when filling out existing activity journals. To overcome these problems, electronic journals for PKL in accordance with the level 2 Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) are proposed. This study aims to develop electronic journals that are in accordance with level 2 KKNI. The research method used is the ADDIE, which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Based on the feasibility test, effectiveness test of the developed PKL electronic journal, and the responses given by media experts and material experts, the criteria for the responses were very feasible. From the practicality test, the criteria were very practical. From the effectiveness test in the experimental class, the criteria were quite effective and significantly used by students to improve the competence of graduates of the light vehicle engineering study program. The conclusion of this study is that electronic journals are effective in improving the graduate competence. The novelty of this research is that it is electronic based and refers to the level 2 KKNI.

Abstract

Due to the implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) caused by Covid-19 pandemic, the learning process has been switched to be online. Eleventh grade vocational high school students of the hospitality skill competency experience difficulties and limitations in the online learning process. Therefore, students need learning media that are in accordance with the situation and conditions, and effectively improve competence, namely Android-based e-module. This study aims to develop, analyze the feasibility, and analyze the effectiveness of the Room Service E-Modul. The research method used is Research and Development with ADDIE approach and quantitative method with an experimental two group design approach. This study involved three media expert validators and three material expert validators. The implementation of e-modules is carried out in online learning for 4 x 3 x 45 minutes. The data collection techniques used were needs analysis observation, e-module feasibility test questionnaire, and pretest and posttest. Analysis of the data used in this study is the mean, descriptive analysis of the percentage, N-Gain, and independent t-test. The results showed that: 1) the results of the Room Service E-Module feasibility test got an average value of 3.33 in the very feasible category; 2) E-module room service is declared effective in increasing the competence of students with an average N-gain of 0.71 in the high category, with a significant value of p = 0.000.
Development of Job Instruction on Student Readiness in Carrying out Internship in the Automotive Engineering Skill Competency

Abstract

One of the Ministry of Education and Culture strategies to realize quality and industry-recognized vocational education and training for the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is to provide opportunities for students to carry out industrial work practices or project work with business and industrial world (DU/DI). In practice, vocational students in automotive engineering skill competency tend to be unprepared which results in ineffective internships. This development research aims to formulate the need for job instruction which is oriented toward the readiness of students to carry out an internship program in which there are basic components of instruction and preparation, understanding, testing and participation stages, and follow-up. The readiness of students includes knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Research development uses the ADDIE development model procedure, namely (1) Analysis, (2) Design (3) Development, (4) Implementation, (5) Evaluation. This study aims to: 1) Develop job instruction, 2) Know the feasibility of job instruction, 3) Know the effectiveness of job instructions; 4) Know the increase in student readiness before carrying out internships. The feasibility test obtained a score of 3.63% with a very feasible category. Practicality of 92% with a very practical category. The job instruction that was developed was also tested for its effectiveness with an N-Gain value of 78% which means it is effective and the result is a student readiness level of 84.47% in the ready category. The results of this development research show that job instruction has a positive effect on student readiness and can be used at the stage of industrial work practice debriefing of Automotive Engineering Skill Competency.

Abstract

The fundamental problem for vocational graduates today is the ability of soft skills which are the main basis for developing self-character to support the hard skills they have. Soft skills have a very important role in determining the character maturity of SMK graduates towards the world of work. The aims of this study were: 1) to describe the factual conditions for the soft skill development of SMK students that are integrated with the learning process and 2) to develop career-based soft skill enhancement strategies for SMK graduates oriented towards 21st century learning. The research approach used was descriptive research, followed by SWOT analysis. while the research respondents were determined through purposive random sampling method. The research results show that,SMK still has weaknesses in learning soft skills, including: 1) learning is still limited to increasing knowledge and skills (hard skills); 2) teachers, not all of them personally can become role models for students; 3) learning strategies have not yet integrated learning models based on improving students' soft skills; 4) the uneven application of Du/Di culture in the learning process; 5) lack of Du/Di support in the soft skills development of SMK students; and 6) the lack of the role of guidance and counseling in the development of soft skills. Furthermore, based on the resulting SWOT analysisthe highest score for the strength-opportunity strategy (SO: 3.53), whereimproving the soft skills of vocational students based on career-oriented learning in the 21st century, can optimize the SO strategy in all aspects, namely: 1) learning objectives; 2) basic behavior of students; 3) learning materials; 4) career-based learning strategies oriented to 21st century skills; 5) media and learning resources; and 6) learning evaluation.21st Century Learning emphasizes a balance between the development of hard skills and soft skills for SMK graduates, in order to be able to compete in the world of work and entrepreneurship, however, it is necessary to accelerate the role of various parties, especially schools in developing the character and careers of its graduates.

Abstract

Almost all countries are experiencing an outbreak of the corona virus or covid-19. The emergence of a pandemic causes stress at various levels of society. Stress is a mental disorder faced by a person due to pressure. One of the effective therapies to reduce the level of stress experienced by the community is Mindfulness Meditation. Mindfulness meditation has been shown to significantly have an effect on reducing stress levels experienced by people due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to determine the effect of Mindfulness Meditation therapy on reducing stress levels. This study uses the Pre Experiment technique with One Group Pre and Post Design. The sample in this study was the people of Karanganyar RT 3 RW 11 Palur. The number of samples used was 50 patients. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. After statistical testing using Wilcoxon, the results obtained a significance of 0.000 (p value 0.05). There is an effect of Mindfulness meditation therapy on reducing stress levels in the community due to the pandemic in Mojosongo Village, Surakarta.

Abstract

The effectiveness of archives management in an organization is greatly influenced or supported by employees in the administration section, the facilities or facilities used in archive management and the availability of funds for archive maintenance and archive maintenance. SMK Negeri 1 Punggelan has administrative officers or staff whose job is to manage documents or archives which are carried out starting from the start of the archives to the depreciation of the archives but most of them are still manual. This School Action Research aims to: (1) To describe an increase in motivation to use Google Drive for digital administration through IHT activities for administrative staff at SMK Negeri 1 Punggelan and (2) To describe an increase in the ability to use Google Drive for digital administration through IHT activities for administrative staff at SMK Negeri 1 Punggelan. Research on motivation using Google Drive for digital archives that the author has done can increase motivation using Google Drive from 25% or 3 people in the very good and good category in the pre-cycle to 50% or 6 people in cycle I and 1.66% or 11 people in cycle II, as well as for the ability to use google drive for digital administration which the author has done can increase from 33.33% or 4 people in the very good and good categories in the pre-cycle to 56.
