This journal publishes articles on community service and empowerment results that are problem-solving, comprehensive, meaningful, and sustainable, with clear goals. Various community service and empowerment activities must have novelty (have innovation and creativity), so that they do not just replicate the same activities in different places, have measurable results and impacts on society, and support the achievement of the goals set forth in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDGs are a global action plan agreed by world leaders, to end poverty, reduce inequality and protect the environment. The SDGs contain 17 Goals and 169 Targets, so that each article must be linked to these goals and targets (as stated in the contribution statement).

Abstract

Cocoa farmers in this area were not familiar with post-harvest processing, usually, the cocoa bean was sold directly without any fermentation. This public service objective provides information on good quality control of cocoa plant beans, such as fermentation pH, sorting, and contained water content. Followed to improve the knowledge about fermented cocoa bean's characteristics, especially about fine flavor cocoa (FFC) which has a flavor profile and also several active compounds for healthy. Data collection was carried out by filling out questionnaires from 25 farmer respondents. The results of the service showed that as many as 52% of the respondents have been cocoa farmers for more than 5 years. Most of the cocoa farmers produced more than 500 kg/harvest. Many farmers do not ferment cocoa beans because the fermentation process takes a long time, while farmers want to sell cocoa beans quickly. This causes the selling price of cocoa beans to become low.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the mass of erythrocytes or hemoglobin in circulation cannot fulfill its function to provide oxygen to body tissues. Anemia in adolescent girls is still quite high; the world prevalence of anemia ranges from 40 to 88%. Community service activities aim to screen (check) hemoglobin levels as early detection of anemia using the Point of Care Testing (POCT) method to determine the relationship between age and education to the incidence of anemia and as a preventive effort to minimize anemia. This activity was carried out through counseling about hemoglobin using the lecture method at the Islamic Boarding School Roudlotul Musthofa in May with 23 female students as respondents, which were then analyzed using the Wilcoxon statistical test. The results of the questionnaire before counseling (pre-test) obtained an average of 80, then counseling was carried out, and the average results of the questionnaire (post-test) were 94. The results of the Wilcoxon Test analysis showed p (Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed)) = 0.000 < α (0.05), which means that there is a significant influence between the knowledge of junior high school students of Raudlatul Mustofa Islamic Boarding School Tulungagung Regency and hemoglobin counseling conducted.

Abstract

Scabies is a skin disease endemic in tropical and subtropical climates that is highly contagious and generally affects groups of people with low socioeconomic conditions, poor personal hygiene and sanitation. This activity aimed to make efforts to prevent, provide education, and assist public health development so that it is expected to improve public health in boarding schools students.  This study aims to make efforts to prevent, provide education, and assist public health development so that it is expected to improve public health in boarding schools. The sample to be analyzed was 19 students from Raudlatul Junior High School. Examination of parasites that cause scabies is done with a skin swab. The results of observations that have been made of Raudlatul Musthofa Junior High School students show that the majority of students have carried out personal hygine well, namely all 19 students (100%) bathing at least twice a day using soap, keeping hands and feet clean, and changing clothes when dirty. A total of 14 students (74%) do not exchange personal items such as towels, do not take turns in clothes, and do not dry clothes in the room. A total of 15 students (79%) cleaned the bed, 18 students (95%) did not lend toiletries such as soap, and 16 students (84%) did not experience symptoms of frequent itching at night, rashes (spots), wounds, or dry and crusty skin. The results of skin swab examinations on 19 students at Raudlatul Musthofa seen under a microscope obtained as many as 13 students (68%) samples contained bacteria and as many as 6 students (32%) samples contained fungi.

Abstract

Cooperatives play a crucial role in the Indonesian economy, cooperatives have high values in helping to improve the country's economic welfare. Therefore, the development of a cooperative-based Indonesian economy is urgently needed to help boost the economy. Partners in this service activity are the Nusantara Ornamental Fish Malang community. Institutional strengthening is very influential in developing cooperative-based community businesses. This is based on the problems found in the form of weak ornamental fish community institutional systems, more optimal ornamental fish production, limited access to capital, and limited access to ornamental fish marketing. This service activity aims to provide knowledge and assistance in strengthening cooperative-based community business institutions. Assistance provided in the form of cooperative training and procedures for its establishment, cooperative management, facilities for procuring ornamental fish seeds, and ornamental fish marketing galleries. The result is the formation of an ornamental fish production cooperative that can run well and it is hoped that it will be able to help cooperative members and fish farmers in dealing with various problems including access to capital and assistance from the government.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in the global economy, Driving job creation, fostering innovation, and contributing to economic growth. However, Indonesia faces challenges in increasing the number of entrepreneurs and enhancing economic productivity. This article presents a case study on the Faculty of Economics and Business at Syiah Kuala University's community engagement activities aimed at developing students' entrepreneurial and cross-cultural competencies. The activities encompass experiential learning, mentorship, networking, and cultural collaboration, aligning with achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through experiential learning, students gain practical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a global mindset, equipping them for entrepreneurship and business. Collaborative initiatives with international partners, such as Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and interactions with Indonesian diaspora entrepreneurs in Singapore enhance students' cross-cultural competence. They learn to respect diversity, adapt to different cultural norms, and collaborate effectively across cultures. The activities also facilitate networking and collaboration, enabling students to establish connections with diaspora entrepreneurs and international peers. These connections can lead to future partnerships and collaborative efforts. The community engagement activities empower students with the skills, knowledge, and global perspective necessary to excel as entrepreneurs and positively impact the achievement of SDGs. The emphasis on economically viable, culturally sensitive, environmentally sustainable, and socially responsible entrepreneurship aligns with the broader goals of sustainable development, contributing to the development of sustainable entrepreneurship in higher education.
