Abstract

In this modern era, it is very common that development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is very well known. For instance we see many office, learning, or even game application. Whether is it online game or offline game. Many school-age children around 10 to 13 years old, spend their free time to play games. This is not a good habit, because it can make them addict to game and not focus at their study anymore. This impact make them be a end user. Therefore it has to change to make them be creative to create game by their own. It has two method that can be used to drive them be more creative. First step is use unplugged activity and then plugged activity. Unplugged activity is a series of learning computer with no computer. In this series there are 2 games will be played, they are “jumping frog” and “mouse maze”. In this unplugged game student will study about first step to introduce code (basic logic thinking). After student understand the logic thinking of computer they will get plugged activity, which is scratch. At this scratch level the student start to make the basic simple code. This research was done with good effort to provide alternative solutions that school-age student be a creative student.

Abstract

E-learning as a new learning model in education provides a great role and function for the world of education. It answers the shortcomings and weaknesses of conventional education (education in general) including the limitations of space and time. Information technology that has a standard internet platform can be a solution to these problems because of the nature of the internet, which allows everything to be connected, cheap, simple and open so that the internet can be used by everyone, everywhere, everytime and free to use (available to every one). The problems that are faced by our partners (Poncol and 2 Vocational High School of Magetan) are they have electronic devices (computers and wifi) but do not have e-learning, and also, the need of increasing teachers human resource. The objective of this Community Service Research Program is to 1) make chamilo-based e-learning media partners; 2) improve the ability of teachers and students to apply chamilo-based e-learning for actualizing the concept of ICT-based schools; and 3) increasing teacher and student interaction without limits of space and time (via online, anytime and anywhere). The method used is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method by involving more partner participants facilitated by community service programs UPN Veteran Jawa Timur as resource / facilitator for the implementation of chamilo-based E-Learning. The results of the Community Service Research Results Program are 1) Partners have chamilo-based e-learning media; 2) Teachers and students have been able to apply chamilo-based e-learning for actualizing the concept of ICT-based schools; also 3) the teacher and student interactions have increased without limits of space and time (online, anytime and anywhere). Based on implementation of this program, it was concluded that the e-learning system is useful to improve the quality of teacher and student learning for actualizing the concept of information and communication technology-based schools.

Abstract

Desa Rejowinangun is one of villages located in Kecamatan Kademangan, Kabupaten Blitar. This village has potential in form of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. In this village, majority of population make a living as traders or entrepreneurs, so that Desa Rejowinangun is dubbed as UMKM Village. Many of real problems faced by UMKM actors in this village. Most important problem is related to marketing of UMKM products. Business people in Desa Rejowinangun are still relying on conventional methods of carrying out marketing business so far. Using conventional sales model, many UMKM sell their products indirectly to consumers, but through orders or requests from distributors or stores. Production of UMKM, which were mostly sold to second hand, made UMKM not maximal in gaining production profits because profits had to be shared with second hand distributors. In an effort to increase economic value of UMKM in this village, there are ideas to develop economic values and marketing methods that utilize information technology and social media. One of them is sales strategy through online marketing and by utilizing social media. UMKM actors will get many benefits with production sales model directly to consumers, one of which is UMKM can sell their products directly to consumers with brands and packaging issued directly by producers. UMKM will have advantage of using information technology to increase economic value of UMKM in this village, which is expected to increase income and added value to Desa Rejowinangun as a UMKM village.

Abstract

The liquid bio-silica fertilizer is one of the fertilizer products in liquid phase containing silica (SiO2), potassium (K) and nitrogen (N). This liquid bio-silica fertilizer is highly needed by some plants that accumulate silica such as rice, sugar cane, corn, palm and others. The presence of silica in fertilizers can improve the quality and quantity of crop yields and keep the silica content in the soil. The liquid bio-silicate fertilizer is produced through three stages of the process, the first process of silica extraction in ash solid waste of sugar industry with a solution of potassium hydroxide (KOH 2N) at 100 C for 2 h will form a potassium silicate solution (K2O.SiO2), the second stage of the process is the ion exchange with the cationic resin to decrease the acidity (pH) to produce liquid potassium silicate fertilizer with various pH (acidity degree), and the third stage is mixing process with the addition of urea solution (nitrogen source). The characteristics of the liquid bio-silica fertilizer were determined based on the concentration of silica (SiO2), potassium (K) and nitrogen (N) as well as the degree of acidity (pH). Based on the results of the research, the bio-silica liquid fertilizer plus has pH from 13,5-11 with 3-5% silica content, potassium (5 - 6,0%) and nitrogen (2-3%).

Abstract

Precipitated silica is a silica product produced by a precipitation process, this silica product contains silica, white color, very porous and nanomaterial. This precipitate silica is required to support various types of industrial operations such as vehicle, rubber, cosmetics, electronics, agriculture and other industries. The precipitated silica is produced through two stages of the process: firstly is silica extraction process with the base solution and the secondly is precipitation processes of silica solution with various types of acids such as hydrochloric acid (HCl), sulfuric acid (H2SO4), acetic acid (CH3COOH) and other acids. In this study, the source of silica was obtained from bagasse ash waste of sugar industry, the base solution as a solvent was sodium hydroxide (NaOH) 2 N and the precipitate process was carried out by using carbon dioxide gas (CO2) and the precipitation process was carried out on a fixed bed column. In this study we studied the effect of silica concentration on the inlet feed and the high of the fixed bed on the quality of the precipitated silica product. Based on the results of this study, the quality of precipitated silica produced as follows: 95-98% silica content, weight loss due to temperature heating 105 C: 4 – 5 %, acidity (pH of slurry 5%) : 6.8-7,1, and surface area (BET): 175 m2/gram. The best conditions in this study were 30 cm high of fixed bed, and concentration of silica feed: 0,33% weight and acidity (pH) precipitation 7,1.
