Abstract

Study on chemical component analysis and antioxidant activity test of red ginger rhizome extract (Zingiber officinale Rosc. Var rubrum) has been conducted. The red ginger rhizome was extracted by maceration method and using methanol as a solvent. The antioxidant activity was tested by using DPPH method with wavelength 515 nm. The result showed that positively, red ginger rhizome extract containing flavonoid, tannins, saponins, alkaloids and terpenoids compounds, whereas, the antioxidant antioxidant anticity test got value IC50 10, 35µg/mL classified as very strong.

Abstract

This study aims to make a Smart Filter for domestic liquid waste by utilizing activated carbon from Sago Fiber Waste as an adsorbent. The stages of this research consisted of making activated carbon, characterizing activated carbon and testing the smart filter. The results of the research show that activated carbon from sago fiber (Metroxylon sago) is needed to produce the best Smart Filter in reducing levels of domestic liquid waste (household liquid waste) by as much as 20 g. This is based on the results of tests carried out in this study where the more activated carbon is used, the more reduction in waste content is produced, resulting in a decrease in the content of Chemycal Oxygen Demand (COD) by 4%. The Smart Filter test results in reducing levels of domestic liquid waste (household liquid waste) in the Gray Water category gave a good effect according to the results obtained for all test parameters carried out, namely turbidity, pH and Chemycal Oxygen Demand (COD). Based on observations made from the use of Smart Filters with two forms, namely powder and granules, better results are obtained, namely the use of Smart Filters that use powdered activated carbon.

Abstract

Colletotrichum gloeosporioides is a pathogenic fungus that attacks plants and causes anthracnose disease. Leaves of ketepeng cina (Cassia alata. L) have potential as a biological fungicide because they contain secondary metabolite which is collected as an antifungal. This study aims to know about the inhibitory effects of etanolic extract of ketepeng cina leaves on the growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, and to determine the effective concentration of etanolic extract of ketepeng cina leaves in inhibiting the growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. The treatment etanolic extract of ketepeng cina leaves used were: P0: 0% concentration, P1: 30% concentration, P2: 60% concentration and P3: 80% concentration. Fungal growth was observed on the 7th day after incubation. The results showed that the contribution of etanolic extract of ketepeng cina leaves could inhibit the growth of the fungus Colletottrichum glosporidies. The most effective concentration of etanolic extract of ketepeng cina leaves was 80%, with an average growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides diameter was 1.35 cm and suppressed the spread of hyphae

Abstract

Research on the proximate carbon analysis of sago fiber waste has been carried out. This study aims to determine the chemical properties of sago fiber activated carbon. Activated carbon was prepared using the hydrothermal cabonization method. Activation is carried out chemically using KOH and followed by calcination at a temperature of 500°C. Proximate analysis was carried out to determine the chemical properties of the carbon produced. In this study, the water, ash, volatile and bonded carbon content were 6.67%, 21.22%, 17.8% and 45.79%, respectively.

Abstract

Betok fish (Anabas Testudineus) is a fish with high protein but there is no information about the albumin content in betok fish. This study aims to determine the albumin of Betok Fish (Anabas Testudineus) in Cenning, West Malangke District, North Luwu Regency. The measurement of albumin used the Lowry method with samples of adult fish of different sizes. The albumin content increases with increasing length and width of fish.
