Abstract

Purpose: This community service activity aims to improve the ability of revenue treasurers to manage regional expenditure in Pangkep Regency. Methodology/approach: The research method used in the implementation of this community service activity is the primary approach. This approach allows active cooperation between the service team and the parties involved, such as the revenue treasurer and local government, in designing, implementing, and evaluating the changes needed in local financial management. Results/findings: The outcomes of this service activity clearly showed a significant improvement in the treasurer's ability to manage local finances, as well as the overall local financial management process. Limitation: The research steps, including Initial Assessment, Joint Planning, Action Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, Reflection and Improvement, and Dissemination of Results, helped ensure the success of this program. Contribution: This activity provides recommendations that have the potential to maintain and improve the ability of revenue treasurers in the future, with benefits that include increased efficiency and transparency in local financial governance, as well as more optimal contribution to the goal of practical regional autonomy.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to develop value-added processed products from previously unsellable agricultural produce, namely papaya and bananas, including Papaya-based Abon, Permen (candies), and Selai (jams) or APeS, and Banana-based Keripik (chips), Molen (banana fritters), Permen (candies), and Sale (sugar-coated snacks) or KeMPeS, within the Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) sector of Banana Chips in Penantian Village. The research primarily focuses on the utilization of digital marketing strategies as the key tool for marketing these products. Methodology/approach: The research method employed product development experiments and the implementation of digital marketing strategies. Data collection involved surveys, interviews, observations, and market analysis. The results indicate that the developed papaya-based APeS and banana-based KeMPeS products have successfully enhanced the value of previously unsellable agricultural produce. Furthermore, the implementation of digital marketing strategies has proven effective in increasing the visibility and sales of UMKM Banana Chips' products in the digital marketplace. Results/findings: The results indicate that the developed papaya-based APeS and banana-based KeMPeS products have successfully enhanced the value of previously unsellable agricultural produce. Furthermore. Limitation: This research suggest that UMKM in similar regions can leverage similar strategies to develop processed agricultural products and enhance market access through digital platforms. Contribution: This research offers a positive contribution to the development of UMKM in Penantian Village and provides valuable insights into the utilization of digital marketing to support local economic growth.

Abstract

Purpose: This Community Service activity aims to increase the knowledge and attitudes of midwife students about Patient Centered Care (PCC), which is one of the efforts to improve the wellbeing of Post SC patients. Methodology/approach: This activity was carried out on Wednesday, April 12 2023 with the target of Midwifery students Semester IV and VI, Mega Buana University, Palopo, South Sulawesi. Community service activities are carried out through 3 stages, namely 1) Pretest; 2) Training carried out using lecture and question and answer methods as well as demonstrations via zoom meeting media; 3) Posttest. Data was collected using questionnaire data collection techniques and document study. Results/findings: The majority of students have a good level of knowledge (62%) about PCC with a p value = 0.014 and the majority have a good attitude (71%) about PCC with a p value = 0.021 after training. Conclusion: PCC training is effective in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of midwife students and can be an alternative in improving the wellbeing of post-SC patients as indicated by reduced levels of anxiety and increased satisfaction of post-SC patients. Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to (1) empower the community in the Cita Tani Mandiri women's group by diversifying processed nutmeg products into nutmeg skin crackers. (2) Developing digital-based marketing for processed nutmeg products. Methodology: The implementation of community empowerment activities is carried out through two activities: training and mentoring, which is complemented by learning-by-doing techniques. Training activities were divided into (1) Survey of Partners' knowledge, (2) delivery of the theory of making crackers, and (3) demonstration and direct practice of making nutmeg leather crackers. Assistance activities include (1) assistance in making logos, brands, and product packaging; (2) assistance in marketing products using marketplaces; and (3) Monitoring and Evaluation. Results: The results obtained from this activity are: (1) increasing the skills of the members of the Cita Mandiri Farmers Group regarding the diversification of processed nutmeg products into nutmeg crackers; and (2) increasing the knowledge of the members of the Cita Mandiri Farmers Group regarding digital marketing strategies. Limitations: This activity was limited to processing and marketing nutmeg crackers. Contribution: This activity contributes to marketing management of processed nutmeg products.

Abstract

Purpose: Carry out training to improve the ability of science teachers to design teaching materials based on local wisdom and local potential. Methodology/approach: Community Service activities are carried out 3 times (2 online meetings and 1 offline meeting) with a lesson study pattern (planning, doing, seeing). There are around 50 science teachers in online activities from all over Indonesia, while offline activities are carried out for science teachers in Cirebon and surrounding areas. Result: The results of community service activities are 1). Produced several teaching materials based on local wisdom and local potential from various regions where participants come from, 2). Positive responses from science teachers about learning based on local wisdom and local potential, 3). From the open lesson activity, the Observer teacher stated that the learning was carried out very well (100%). 4). From reflection activities, teachers see that students learn enthusiastically and teachers learn about making and implementing learning based on local wisdom and potential. Limitation: The local potential-based learning chosen by the teacher is the biotechnology concept of Cirebon Bakung tape and Kuningan tape. The instruments used are teacher questionnaires and observation sheets. Contribution: Community service activities can provide insight for teachers to create and implement learning based on local wisdom and local potential

Abstract

Purpose: Buluh Cina Village is a tourist village located on the banks of the Siak River. The problem of waste among residents living on the banks of the river is throwing garbage directly into the river, causing water pollution. The purpose of this community service is to provide information on how housewives can manage household waste into liquid organic fertilizer (POC) and compost in a simple manner. Methodology: The method used was focus group discussion (FGD) on the theory of good waste management and a workshop demonstration of the practice of making POC and compost directly. This event was in collaboration with the health cadre partners of Puskesmas Pangkalan Baru and Buluh Cina village officials. Results: The results of this community service were attended by 31 cadres, who understood that the behavior of littering into the river must be stopped by utilizing waste from the household scale. POC and compost training, so it is hoped that cadres will apply to themselves and teach their members. Limitations: Owing to the limited time, funds, and members involved in this research, the training was only conducted for one day, but it is hoped that it will be sustainable. Contribution: This activity is useful to increase community awareness about managing household waste to make it more useful for fertilizing plants around the house and also have economic value if sold

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this program is to increase the knowledge and empowerment of the Cimande Village community and also the Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS) by utilizing their residences in the Jawara homestay business so that it can provide additional income and improve welfare. Methodology: This program was carried out in three stages, namely the preparation stage which is carried out through observation, FGD and internal discussions; the second stage is implementation with coaching and workshops; and the third stage is evaluation through tests, monitoring and evaluation. Result: The results of the pre-test and post-test evaluation showed that the level of knowledge and understanding of the participants increased from initially not understanding to understanding. The participant's skill level increased in making the bed and cleaning the bathroom, and the participants were able to create social media accounts and content about the homestay. Conclusion: The community empowerment program through the homestay business will run optimally if it is well prepared based on the needs, commitment, and participation of the village community, and implemented by providing knowledge, skills, and equipment assistance according to standards, as well as providing assistance so that the community can become independent. Limitation: This article has limitations in terms of the number of community participants who are interested in homestay business. Contribution: This program contributes as a reference for other scholars in efforts to develop homestays in tourist villages. This program also contributes to the Cimande Village Community in managing, developing homestays according to standards, and marketing them.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to discuss strengthening Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of Women Farmer Groups in Sumberjo Village through various programs, namely: Brand Creation, NIB Registration (Business Identification Number), and Halal Certification registration. Methodology/approach: This activity was conducted in Sumberjo village, Polewali Mandar district, focusing on the Women's Farmer Group. The form of implementing activities is carried out by carrying out various steps, namely socialization and direct assistance to the community. Results/findings: The results of the activity are solving partner problems by transferring science and technology in the form of socialization, workshops, and assistance in the form of 3P such as Brand Creation, Business Identification Number Registration, Assistance with halal product certification, Product Innovation Development, and, Digitalization training for managing MSME websites, financial report bookkeeping applications and market place and delivery of production equipment assistance to partners. Limitation: referring to UP2KKK's needs, service activities are limited and focus on branding issues, business registration numbers, and halal certification. Contributions: This activity has an impact on KWT Gemah Ripah related to the development of products of higher quality and in terms of product quantity.

Abstract

Purpose: The Women-Headed Household Empowerment Programme (PEKKA) aims to improve the welfare and economic independence of women headed households through improved skills and market access. Methodology: This study was conducted using a participatory action research approach in a community of women headed family. The methods used included practical training in product packaging and digital marketing strategies, particularly the use of social media. The study also adopted surveys and interviews to collect data. Results/Findings: Results showed significant improvements in the ability of female-headed households to produce and market products, leading to increased income. Social impacts noted included a reduction in school dropout rates and unemployment among the families involved. Limitations: The study was limited to a specific region, so the results may not be directly applicable to different contexts without customisation. Contribution: The findings provide important insights for policymakers and community development practitioners in designing economic empowerment programmes focused on female-headed households, with potential application in other regions.

Abstract

Purpose: The management of the cooperative must to know about soundness of their cooperative to plan and decision making in enhancing the welfare for its members. So, the purpose of this activity are to explain for management of Rukun credit cooperative how to analyze financial statement to know about soundness rate of  their cooperative. Information about soundness rate can be basic to financial management of Rukun credit cooperative. Methodology: This activity was carried out at the Shop House (Ruko) Kopdit Rukun Jl. Siaran Perumnas Sako. The participants of the activity are Managers and Administrators of Kopdit Rukun. Activities are carried out in the form of lectures, questions and answers, discussions and practices of calculating and analyzing financial statements. Giving lectures using the help of projectors, laprop, screens, whiteboards, markers, stationery, paper and also cooperative annual report books. Activities were evaluated using hardfile questionnaires distributed at the beginning and end of activities containing pre and post tests. The total participants were 28 people and the response rate to the pre and post test questionnaire was 85.71% (24 out of 28 participants). Results: Based on the results of the pre and post test questionnaire, an increase in understanding was obtained which was seen from the number of correct answers increased from 61.218% to 66.346%. The number of trainees from the beginning of the activity to its completion shows more than 80% and this means that this activity is in demand by participants. Based on the number of correct answers from 24 participants, it was found that 12 (50%) participants experienced an increase in understanding, 8 (33%) participants experienced a decrease in understanding, and 4 (17%) other participants did not experience a change in understanding. Limitation: The number of trainees from the beginning of the activity to its completion shows more than 80% and this means that this activity is in demand by participants. Contribution: The results of the questionnaire on material understanding by comparing answers before and after the training showed an increase in scores, and this means that participants' understanding of financial statements and financial statement analysis has increased.
