Abstract

The Bakassi peninsula conflict and its resolution had absorbed most of Cameroon and Nigeria's socio-political and economic oxygen and the international community in the 80s, 90s, and the first decade of the 21st century. Following military clashes between Cameroon and Nigeria over the peninsula, the conflict was finally resolved through the International Court of Justice (ICJ) verdict in 2002 and the Green Tree Agreement (GTA) 2006. The main thrust of this paper is to examine some militant or Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs) that operated during and after the resolution of the Bakassi conflict. This paper also aims to examine the reasons why these NSAGs emerged briefly. This paper applied the qualitative research method and, from it, historical consolidation, content analyses and case studies. The study's results revealed seven prominent NSAGs that emerged during/after the resolution of the Bakassi conflict. The ICJ verdict of 2002 and the GTA of 2006 were one of prominent reasons why these NSAGs emerged. The study also found that the desire to control the area's natural resources, fight against Cameroon gendarme brutality, and the poor resettlement of the Bakassi returnees also served as springboards for the emergence of these NSAGs. Through its recommendations, this paper will help the Cameroon government redefine its policies toward ensuring and maintaining lasting peace in the Bakassi peninsula- understanding the reason for the emergence of the NSAGs, its trends, and how best to handle them.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy of diplomatic cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore and have bilateral relations between Indonesia and Singapore and for researchers to understand and analyze the cooperation strategies the two countries have carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used by the author in this study was qualitative and would answer a more comprehensive phenomenon. This method was sourced from literature studies, written documents, online searches, and other relevant supporting documents that will be used as secondary data collection techniques. Cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore has been established since 1967. The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on both countries. Singapore, which is directly adjacent to Batam City, one of the regions in the Riau Islands, Indonesia, was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Almost all countries carried out various policies limiting mobility from tourists to trade. This pandemic provided new opportunities for Singapore-Indonesia, especially in Batam City, by creating a new collaboration. The strategy to increase cooperation between the two countries in tourism to investment and development is called “Three Bridges,” which consists of travel bubble bridges, infrastructure bridges, and digital bridges. The “Three Bridges” development strategy, to increase cooperation when COVID-19 hit the situation between the two countries, is a multidimensional program in the future. Singapore and Batam City have proximity in the border area of various sectors of cooperation. Thus, this pandemic can increase diplomatic cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore, which is a country that is directly adjacent and assisted by stakeholders between the two countries.

Abstract

The National Mandate Party (PAN) is the largest Islamic party that supports legislative candidates from among artists. Therefore, this study aims to explain PAN’s political motives in supporting legislative candidates from among artists for the 2024 elections. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The findings explained that the political motives of material incentives and solidarity dominated PAN’s political recruitment. The material incentive motive is that artist candidates are used as a voter-getter strategy based on their financial strength and popularity. Then, the solidarity incentive political motive tends to be related to emotional and moral relationships. On the emotional side, PAN believes in supporting artist candidates again because it reflects their significant contribution to the party’s internal and parliamentary elections. Meanwhile, from the moral side, PAN has a specific goal to convey to the public that the party has an inclusive principle for all groups. It contradicts the Islamic religious identity attached to PAN, which is not specifically shown in nominating legislative candidates for the 2024 elections.

Abstract

Pelayanan publik untuk penyandang disabilitas saat ini masih menjadi topik pembahasan yang perlu banyak dikaji. Masih banyak pelayanan publik yang tidak ramah akses untuk para penyandang disabilitas.  Pelayanan publik yang tidak merata untuk para penyandang disabilitas yang dimana jumlah penyandang disabilitas tergolong cukup banyak menimbulkan adanya rasa iri atas ketimpangan yang diberikan oleh pemerintah kepada masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perkembangan riset dalam melihat perkembangan pelayanan publik untuk penyandang disabilitas.  Metode penelitian menggunakan analisis bibliometrik dalam memberikan gambaran terkait sebaran publikasi studi pada bidang pelayanan publik terkhususnya pelayanan publik untuk penyandang disabilitas. Analisis bibliometrik ini menerapkan limit dalam penentuan data yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian dengan melihat pertumbuhan penelitian terkait pelayanan publik untuk penyandang disabilitas. Hasil dari penerapan limit kemudian di export dalam format RIS dan BibTex. Format RIS digunakan pada visualisasi menggunakan bantuan aplikasi VOSviewer. Sedangkan format BibTex digunakan pada visualisasi menggunakan  bantuan aplikasi Biblioshiny. Hasil akhir analisis bibliometrik ini adalah memvisualisasi jurnal dan penulis yang relevan dengan topik bahasan dan analyze result yang menghasilkan visualisasi dari bidang kategori yang relevan, jenis dokumen, afiliasi yang turut berkontribusi, persebaran wilayah, dan tingkat publikasi setiap tahun dari data 145 data dokumen. Visualisasi yang dihasilkan dari analisis bibliometrik ini selain dapat mempermudah memperoleh data dan memahami aspek-aspek pendukung dalam pembahasan pelayanan publik untuk penyandang disabilitas. Dapat juga memahami ada beberapa aspek yang kurang diteliti dalam adanya pelayanan publik untuk disabilitas.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pembayaran elektronik pada bus trans jogja sebagai upaya dalam meningkatkan pelayanan transportasi public di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakara. Penelitian ini diteliti dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan Teknik wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini terbagi menjadi empat dimensi, pada dimensi Context terdapat keselarasan antara tujuan dan apa yang di inginkan dan dibutuhkan masyarakat sehingga adanya pemabyaran elektronik ini dapat dikatakan tepat. Pada dimensi input dalam hal sumber daya manusia (SDM), sarana dan prasarana, anggaran serta strategi yang digunakan sudah tepat. Pada dimensi proses pembayaran elektronik pada bus trans jogja ini terlaksana sesuai dengan yang direncanakan melalui sosialisasi, arahan cara pemabyaran sampai pelaksanaan pembayaran. Dalam dimensi Product, pembayaran elektronik belum sepenuhnya berdampak karena kurang meratanya sosialisasi dan arahan cara pemabyaran elektronik yang berujung pada minimnya pengguna pembayaran elektronik sehingga tujuan dalam hal kemudahan dan biaya yang lebih murah belum dapat dirasakan oleh seluruh pengguna bus trans jogja.
