Abstract

Nowadays English is very important for us. Basically, the development of the four skills is integrated, but some of people think that speaking is the most difficult one. Research questions of this research are: Does English Speaking Club improves the students’ speaking ability? and What are the effects of English Speaking Club for the students?. Objectives of the research are: 1. To investigate whether the speaking club improves the students’ speaking ability, 2. To find out the effect of English Speaking Club for the students. For statement number 1, activities in English Speaking Club can increase self-confidence for the students. There are 55 respondents (55%) and 23 respondents (23%) who strongly agree and agree and no one choose disagree or strongly disagree. We can conclude that activities in speaking club are effective in increasing confident, especially in speaking skill. Based on the results of the interview data and questionnaire of the research, we can conclude that English Speaking Club can improve the students’ speaking ability.

Abstract

Keselamatan pelayaran merupakan keharusan, dan merupakan syarat supaya kapal bisa berlayar. Keselamatan pelayaran tidak terlepas dari manusia yang ada di dalamnya yaitu Anak Buah Kapal (ABK) , yaitu orang yang menjadi kru kapal dan Nakoda sebagai pemimpinnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa pembelajaran organiasai bisa meningkatkan keselamatan pelayaran. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan crosecsional. Penelitian menggunakan 30 sampel dan dianalisa dengan menggunaka regresi linier. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran organisasi (X1) akan berpengaruh positif dengan peningkatan keselamatan pelayaran (X2) dan signifikan

Abstract

Cooling machines are currently equipment that cannot be separated from human life. For this reason, a lot of research on cooling machines has been carried out to further optimize the work of the machine. This research was conducted to determine the effect of variations in the length of the evaporator pipe on the performance of the cooling machine. Evaporator pipes are varied with a length of 1 meter, 2 meters, and 3 meters. Other parameters are the length of the condenser pipe of 10 meters, the length of the capillary tube of 1.6 meters, and the freon pressure of 10Psi. Based on the results of measurements and calculations of 3 types of evaporator pipe variations, it can be concluded that variations with 1 meter long evaporator pipe get the best results, namely with an average low temperature of 0,920C, a refrigeration effect of 113.53 kJ/kg, and a COP of 2.62.

Abstract

The ship as a transportation at sea musthave the safety requirements issued by the competent authority. Extreme environments, and machine operations that run 24 hours non-stop must have a high level of reliability. Good and proper maintenance will make the ship's life long and provide economic value. Several tools to perform risk analysis are FMEA, as a tool for qualitative analysis can be used as a reference in carrying out maintenance and as a tool that makes it easier for crews to carry out analysis and maintenance to prevent failure. In this case study, it can be concluded that the activities carried out by the crew are in accordance with what the FMEA table has compiled, and it is proven that even though the ship is more than 30 years old, it is still operating normally. This can be seen from the KM Mitra Papua logbook.

Abstract

Every ship's plate will experience thinning or wear due to several factors, thinning of the plate is normal, especially at the bottom of the waterline. Therefore it is necessary to hold maintenance and replating on each part of the ship on a regular basis. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the plate requirement at the change of the barge plate and how many electrodes are used. The purpose of this study is to determine the estimation of plate requirements based on marking, to find out the difference between the comparison between marking and actual plate requirements, and to determine the needs of electrodes in the process of replacing TK plates. Pegasus 5. Which is used as a reference for determining material so as not to suffer losses and to achieve the effectiveness and efficiency of material use. This research is a quantitative research, in this study there are several variables. Based on the research objectives, the results obtained for the estimation of the use of plates for the replating bottom of the Pegasus 5 barge as many as 10 sheets with a plate size of 6096 x 1828 and a thickness of 12 mm. With a comparison difference of 7.7%, and the number of electrodes needed is 236.032 kg or 48 packs.
