Abstract

Nurses have not fully provided care in accordance with the standards that exist in patients undergoing fixation. This could have happened because there is still a lack of nurses' knowledge about the fixation action. This study aimed to determine the factors relating to the implementation of restraint in patients with violence behavior in the Madani Hospital in Central Sulawesi Province. This research was an analytic study with the cross sectional design. The population in this study were all nurses in the nurses' room in Madani District Hospital, Central Sulawesi Province. Population size = 76 people, and sample size = 43 people. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using Chi-square test. There was a significant relationship between knowledge and attitude of nurses with the implementation of restrain in the mental care room of Madani Hospital with p-value of 0.003 and 0.000. There was no correlation between the experience with the implementation of restrain in the mental care room of Madani Hospital with p-value of 1.000. Keywords: knowledge, attitude, experience, restraint, nurse

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the provision of stimulation the fine motor development of children aged 4-5 years through the role of active parents in Palang Sub-district, Tuban. The population of this research was all the parents who have children aged 4-5 years in the kindergarten in Palang Sub-district, Tuban, with population size of 300 people. The sample size were 169 respondents. The sample were selected by using proportionate stratified random sampling. The independent variable was the role of parents in stimulation and the dependent variable was the fine motor development of children. Data of the role of parents were collected by using questionnaires and data of fine motor development were collected by using KPSP (development pre-sceening questionnaire). The data were analyzed by logistic regression test. The role of the parents as the model with p-value of 0.662, gives the opportunity to learn with p-value of 0.211; give the opportunity to practice with p-value of 0.222, motivation with p-value of 0.650 and guidance with p-value of 0.063. The 5 variation of the role of parents had no significant effect on the stimulation of smooth motor development of children aged 4-5 years. Keywords: role of the parents, stimulation, fine motor development

Abstract

Continuous landfilling in the Pakusari Jember landfills will produce pollutants in the form of leachate which is very risky to pollute well water belonging to residents living near the Pakusari Jember landfills. This study aims to analyze the environmental health risks of lead pollution (Pb) in well water around the Pakusari Jember landfills. This research is a descriptive study with a research design using the Environmental Health Risk Analysis method. Population samples in this study were 64 people who were respondents to calculate the risk of respondents exposed to lead (Pb). The well water samples analyzed were 23 wells. The concentration of lead (Pb) in the well water of the population was analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), while the values of body weight, intake rate, exposure frequency, and duration of exposure were obtained from interviews with 64 respondents to calculate (I) lead (Pb) and the level of health risk (RQ). The results showed that the average value of lead concentration (Pb) in the resident well water around the Pakusari Jember landfills was 0.058 mg/L. The results of the calculation of the maximum risk level (RQ) in the population is 2, this indicates that lead exposure (Pb) has a risk of health problems because of the value of RQ>1. If the value of risk level (RQ)>1, risk management is needed .

Abstract

The role of parents is indispensable in guiding, understanding, reminding and providing facilities to children in order to maintain their oral hygiene. The mother guiding model aims to change the knowledge, attitudes and skills of mother in decreasing toddler index debris. The purpose of this study was to analyze the model of guiding in mothers to decrease toddler plaque index. The type of research was quasi-experimental analysis. The research target was all mothers of toddlers who had children aged 3-5 years. Data collection method used questionnaires and oral hygiene status sheets. Analysis data technique used Mcnemar statistical test. The results showed a significant difference between maternal knowledge before and after guiding. There were significant differences between maternal attitudes before and after guiding. There were significant differences between mother's brushingtooth skills before and after guiding. There is a difference in mean of debris index for toddlers between before and after mother guiding. Keywords: Debris index, Toddler, Mother guiding
