Abstract

“IMPLEMENTATION DESIGN READY TO WEAR FOR DAUGHTER USING BATIK TECHNIQUE ” This design in order to cultivate batik culture in children from an early age on the ready-to-wear design collection for girls with innovation on animal pattern using batik for Kiddotik brand. The target market of Kiddotik is woman aged 25-35 years old who have girls aged 2-6 years old. It will be designed a collection with the final product that is applied technique of batik with animal pattern based on the result of through research interview expert and potential customer, observation, literature study.

Abstract

The Study of Sustainability Practices in Indonesian Textile and Fashion Brands: Rupahaus and Osem describe how the principles of sustainability in fashion and textiles are practiced. Generally, environmentally friendly brands are often associated with the use of natural materials. Whereas in the production process of natural materials such as cotton also have a negative impact on the environment because of the need for the use of a lot of pesticides and fertilizers. Thus, the practice of sustainability in fashion and textiles needs to be seen from the production process, distribution process, consumption process, to final disposal. Abstract

This designed collection is made to promote Sustainable Fashion, which is of particular concern with the abundance of waste in the fashion industry, especially in Indonesia. Domestically, there are still many consumers who buy fast fashion products and have not extensively used environmentally friendly products made in Indonesia. Seeing the importance of local fashion brands lifting the concept of Sustainable Fashion by preserving Indonesian art and culture, ALLEGRA JANE a fashion brand made the designs in the form of Ready – to – Wear collection or also called ready – made clothes using ATBM woven fabric and Pasuruan Batik with natural coloring. The Pasuruan Batik Motif selected for this collection is called Tansah Kelingan, which is the motif of chrysanthemum flowers and tuberose flowers. The other motif is Sumebyar Ing Kalen, which is a rose motif and tuberose flowers motif, both of these Batik designs are equipped with detailed technique of hand written Batik of sprinkles. The design collection is inspired by Autumn Winter 2019 - 2020 color and fashion trends. The designs of this collection have straight silhouettes and tailoring structures that can be easily combined with outers, tops and bottoms worn as semi-casual wear or semi-formal wear.

Abstract

“ DESIGNING READY TO WEAR CLOTHING FOR YOUNG ADULT WOMAN USING JOGAKBO FOR THE VIRA PUSPITA BRAND” K-pop phenomenon or hallyu wave in Indonesia had grown in significant pace since 2000. This affects Indonesian’s youth on many aspects, especially in fashion. This could be proven due to a lot of designs bears resemblance to Korean’s design themes, such as Korean patchwork or jogakbo. Jogakbo is a form of traditional patchwork from Korea which is usually used by Koreans as a wrapper for various objects or a form of clothing. Nowadays at the moment, Jogakbo is re-introduced/ re-invented in fashion world as a wearable art which the patchwork was made as if it is an art. By analyzing the market demand in Indonesia, which is quite large, Vira Puspita brand decided to take on jogakbo as a main concept which will be presented in ready to wear collection for fall/winter 2018/2019. With the main purpose of introducing jogakbo to Indonesians as well as a media to give it appreciation towards Indonesia’s art and culture.

Abstract

Fashion sustainability using Vegan-based Materials as An Alternative Application.Fashion sustainability is a movement in fashion industry to support our world’s sustainability. Not only wastes generated in fashion and textile industry have negative impacts on the environment, but also its raw materials and how it is manufactured. To support this movement, several methods have been tried, one of them is to replace the conventional textile materials with organic materials. This research will be done using qualitative descriptive method with observation, literature study and case study from several fashion brands which support fashion sustainability movement.
