Abstract

The increasing population is followed by a rise in waste production, both organic and inorganic. A preliminary survey showed that households generate a large amount of organic waste that has not been properly processed. The community tends to dispose of waste at landfills and then burn it. The aim of this activity is to implement the Eco-Friendly Project by converting organic waste into eco-enzyme in Kemuning Lor Village, Jember Regency. The target participants of this community service activity are members of the PKK, health cadres, youth groups, and village officials. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding, and they were able to independently produce eco-enzyme from organic waste. It is recommended that continuous activities be conducted to provide health education to the community, and that the results of this community service activity be disseminated widely to the public.

Abstract

The main obstacle for rose farmers is the inability to maintain the freshness of the flowers, which quickly wilt and are thrown away after 3-5 days of harvest. Because innovation is needed to process rose flower waste into products with high selling value and become essential oils. The main problem in the machine tool design process, especially distillation machine tools, is that the process efficiency of the machine tool is not yet known. This has a big influence on the yield of essential oils obtained and is inefficient in using fuel. The aim of this program is to provide knowledge and skills to participants, namely 7 MBKM student participants and technicians from laboratories (agricultural machine tools and energy laboratories). The results of calculating the efficiency of the rose water distiller are as follows: (a) the efficiency of the distilling kettle vessel is 22.91%;  (b) condenser efficiency of 77.08% and (c) total distiller efficiency of 17.66%. The recommendation that needs to be made is to increase the efficiency of the distilled kettle by providing an insulator along the distilled kettle.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in boosting Indonesia’s GDP, contributing 61.97%. In addition to generating employment, MSMEs promote economic equity and support national growth. Mojokerto Regency, with 474,346 MSME units contributing IDR 63.498 trillion to the GDP, demonstrates significant potential. However, many MSMEs in this region struggle with low competitiveness. This community engagement program focuses on empowering MSMEs in the food processing sector, particularly the production of kerupuk rambak (fried cowhide crackers) at UD. IKABA. Key challenges identified include limited technology, such as using a modified washing machine to remove excess oil, as well as conventional marketing methods and unappealing packaging. The intervention involved introducing an automatic oil spinner and providing digital marketing training, including the development of a website application for online orders and promotion. The results show improved production efficiency, with processing time reduced by 25%, production capacity increased by 50%, and higher product quality in terms of hygiene and shelf life. Digital marketing also expanded the market reach from local to national levels, resulting in a 70% increase in sales. The implementation of production technology and digital marketing has proven effective in enhancing MSME competitiveness, contributing to both local and national economic growth.
