Abstract

Toxic compounds such as chemical fertilizers have long been used in the agricultural and aquaculture sectors to improve soil fertility. Consequently, it adversely affects the soil, plants and aquaculture organism. Biodegradable waste can be converted into high-quality organic fertilizer. However, a proper candidate for treating biodegradable waste is required. A promising method for utilizing the black soldier fly (BSF, Hermetia illucens) larvae to derive the frass. The present study aims to determine the growth performance of maggots fed with leftover vegetables and fruit and its black soldier fly (BSF, Hermetia illucens) larvae frass chemical characteristic. The use of BSF larvae is to improve BSF frass fertilizer. A total of 3 experimental treatments were applied including; leftover vegetables (A), Fruit waste (B), Rice bran (C) as control treatment. Based on the results of the study, the type of food used as substrate affects the growth of larvae and the quality of the frass. In addition, there are differences in the length and weight of the larva produced by different types of food. This type of vegetable food provides the best maggot growth rate with an increase in length and weight. Several parameters of the chemical and biological properties of frass, the type of vegetable food suggest the highest N value.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of information quality and public relations (PR) service quality at SMAN 7 Depok, delivered via WhatsApp Group, on student parent satisfaction. Along with technological developments, digital communication platforms like WhatsApp have become essential for schools to deliver information and services to parents. In this context, accurate, relevant, and timely information, along with responsive and professional service, is crucial for enhancing parental satisfaction with school services. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sample for this study comprises parents of 10th-grade students at SMAN 7 Depok who actively use WhatsApp Group as a communication medium with the school. Data collection was conducted through online questionnaires, and data analysis utilized regression testing to examine the relationship between the variables of information quality, service quality, and parent satisfaction. The results show that the quality of information and services provided through WhatsApp Group significantly influences student parent satisfaction. High-quality information, such as timeliness and accuracy, along with responsive service from the school, positively impacts the level of parental satisfaction. These findings provide valuable insights for schools in managing communication and services through digital media and encourage improvements in PR strategies to maintain strong relationships with parents.

Abstract

The optimization of traffic light settings plays a crucial role in managing vehicle flow, reducing congestion, and improving road performance, particularly in critical segments such as the toll overpass of Sidodadi in Sidoarjo Regency. This study focuses on addressing two key research questions: the impact of heavy vehicle traffic on intersection performance and the effectiveness of proposed strategies for long-term traffic management. Using the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997, traffic data during peak hours were analyzed to identify delays, degree of saturation, and service levels under existing traffic conditions. The findings revealed that the high volume of heavy vehicles significantly exacerbates delays and reduces intersection efficiency. To address this, two main strategies were proposed: restricting the operational hours of heavy vehicles and implementing dedicated heavy vehicle lanes. Additionally, long-term measures, including intersection redesign and the application of Adaptive Traffic Control Systems (ATCS), were evaluated. The results highlight the need for immediate interventions and continuous evaluation to ensure sustainable traffic flow and support regional mobility and economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of individual characteristics, leadership, and performance of lecturers in Papua and West Papua, with Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) and the Indonesian Higher Education Quality Assurance System (SPMI) acting as mediating variables. A quantitative approach was used for this research, with a sample size of 210 lecturers drawn from a population of 1,176 private university lecturers in these regions. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS software. The findings reveal that individual characteristics and leadership both have a positive and significant effect on OCB and SPMI. Furthermore, individual characteristics do not directly affect lecturer performance, whereas leadership has a significant positive impact on performance. OCB and SPMI were also found to positively influence lecturer performance. Additionally, individual characteristics and leadership were shown to affect lecturer performance indirectly through OCB and SPMI. These results provide insights into the factors that contribute to improving lecturer performance, emphasizing the critical roles of leadership and the mediating effects of OCB and SPMI.
