Sylva: Jurnal Ilmu-ilmu Kehutanan publishes original research articles on all aspects of forestry and environmental sciences, including, but not limited to, the following subjects: forest and natural resource management, biodiversity conservation and management, wood science and timber technology, agroforestry and social forestry, and forest products and forestry. It serves as a primary platform for the dissemination of both theoretical and experimental research, as well as technical reviews. This journal publishes one volume per year, consisting of two issues in July and December. This journal was published by the Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University of Palembang.

Abstract

The Pelawan Forest Biodiversity Park in Namang Village, Namang District, Central Bangka Regency was originally a primary forest along with human civilization, illegal logging and forest clearing into agricultural and plantation land so that it experienced a succession that changed into a secondary forest. To maintain the sustainability of the Pelawan Forest Biodiversity Park, cooperation and support from the surrounding community are needed, who have been interacting to carry out synergistic utilization with government policies. This study aims to examine the utilization of the Pelawan Forest Biodiversity Park by the community and the efforts made to develop this Pelawan Forest Biodiversity Park. Using a qualitative descriptive method by conducting interviews with the people of Namang Village, the management and stakeholders related to policy makers. From the results of this study, the level of community understanding about the utilization of the Pelawan Forest Biodiversity Park can be seen from two aspects, namely the aspect of the utilization of HHBK and the aspect of ecotourism. From the aspect of the utilization of HHBK, the community knows the Pelawan tree as a habitat for honey bee cultivation (69%), Pelawan herbal leaf tea (20%) and the utilization of Pelawan wood (11%). From the ecotourism aspect, the community knows that the Pelawan Forest Biodiversity Park as a tourist attraction is very high (93%) and those who do not know are very few (6%). Efforts to develop the Pelawan Forest Biodiversity Park with short-term planning are to maintain and develop vegetation, branding and promotion of forest products and for the long term in the form of infrastructure development, increasing community capacity and increasing cooperation with the government, community, NGOs, universities/researchers and investors.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the perceptions and interest of students of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of IBA Palembang in continuing their business in agriculture and to find out how the relationship between perceptions and interests of students of the Faculty of Agriculture IBA Palembang University in continuing its business in agriculture. The selection of the location at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of IBA Palembang was done intentionally (purposive sampling). Data collection in the field was carried out in January – May 2022. The results obtained by this study were concluded, namely: 1) The perception score of the students of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of IBA has an average score of 45.88 and lies in the positive criteria, from the three perception indicators, the knowledge indicator and the family environment indicator has high criteria (positive), while the experience indicator has medium criteria. 2) Interest scores of students from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of IBA have an average score of 62.95 which is located on the high criteria, the interest indicators consisting of indicators of interest, enthusiasm, involvement and desire are on the high criteria (interested, enthusiastic, involved, and willing), while indicators of pleasure are in the criteria of being quite happy. 3) Students' perceptions of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of IBA have a real and very strong correlation with the interests of students of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of IBA, especially for indicators of knowledge and family environment

Abstract

The research on the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of farmers towards the success of the BLM PUAP programe in Gapoktan Tri Lestari Tri Tunggal Jaya village District of Banjar Agung Tulang Bawang district aims to describe the knowledge and attitudes of farmers towards BLM PUAP programe success in Gapoktan District of Banjar Agung Tri Lestari Tulang Bawang district . The method used is a survey to farmers , farmer groups and board administrators farmer groups of 30 people to conduct interviews using questionnaires . 30 Sampling Random Sampling method Proporsonal . The results showed that the behavior of farmers viewed the success of the BLM PUAP programe components terahadap knowledge obtained an average score of 9.70 ( high criterion ) . This means that the knowledge of farmers on the success of the BLM PUAP programe has been very good means have known about the BLM PUAP programe , BLM PUAP programe objectives , indicators of program success PUAP BLM and the Finance Micro Agribusiness Institute . As for the attitude of farmers towards the success of the BLM PUAP programe obtained an average score of 9.37 ( high criterion ) means the farmer has agreed to fill out a registration form before becoming members , agree with the principal savings , mandatory savings members , agree with the distributions of Enterprises ( SHU ) at the end of the year and agreed to pay the loan each month

Abstract

Bukit Besak Nature Tourism has a unique attraction and uniqueness so that it is able to attract tourism to come and visit, so that external factors such as the facilities provided must be able to support ecotourism activities and must also pay attention to the carrying capacity of the environment so that it becomes sustainable tourism. Therefore, the Bukit Besak natural tourism must be developed by analyzing the potential for development by conducting interviews, observations, questionnaires and documentation as well as SWOT analysis. The potential of the Bukit Besak Nature Tourism is uniqueness and natural beauty, visitors with various characteristics, have supporting facilities, have adequate accessibility, and have quite good service. The development strategy of Bukit Besak ecotourism in Tanung Beringin Village is based on a SWOT analysis, namely developing ecotourism products by utilizing natural resources, tourist and cultural attractions, unique landscapes of accommodation, tools and equipment, education and skills. In developing the Bukit Besak Nature Tourism, the strategy carried out by the Lahat Regency Tourism Office is CHSE which stands for cleanliness, health, safety and environment.
STUDY OF NATURAL BEE HONEY PRODUCTION FROM THE BUKIT GATAN PROTECTED FOREST AREA, SOUTH SUMATERA PROVINCE

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the types of bees produced, the amount of production produced in each colony, branches, trees, and the total production produced by honey bees, as well as the harvesting, processing, and marketing production processes carried out. The research method used is a survey, while the sampling method used is a combination of purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The data collection method used in this study was direct observation and interviews with informants using a list of questions. Data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively. Furthermore, the amount of production is calculated by the census. The results showed that the type of bee produced was Apis dorsata, the amount of honey produced in each colony was 8.4 kg/year on average, each branch had a colony with an average of 1.82 colonies/branch, and each tree had an average number of an average of 10.3 colonies/tree. The amount of honey production per harvest in August is an average of 44.3kg/month and in September is an average of 43kg/month with an average total production of 87.3kg/year and the harvesting production process consists of preparing tools, installing ladders, climbing , fumigating, slicing the nest and lowering the nest, then the honey processing production process consists of filtering and packaging honey, and the marketing production process is carried out by promoting honey through communication between consumers.
