Abstract

The library is a learning resource center that can support in achieving learning objectives, creating active, creative, effective, and fun learning towards quality learning. The library functions as a source of information, supporting learning for students and teachers at SMA S Assyfa West Pasaman, West Sumatra. The problem that exists is that the data collection process is still manual so that it slows down the performance of librarian in borrowing and returning books. By using the library information system design aims to maximize the performance of librarian with the help of web-based software in processing data quickly and precisely. The method used is the waterfall method with data collection techniques, namely observation and literature study. Web applications have convenience including easy access and flexibility, no need to install, fast server setup and can be updated easily. The results of this study can provide a solution to improve the service and performance of librarian in terms of managing library administrative data and speeding up transactions for borrowing and returning books by students.

Abstract

With the increasingly sophisticated information technology available for the public to access, easier it is for the public to know what is available and what is desired. The use of this information technology has also been used by the public to publicize the potential of a company and institution. Access to information technology on agricultural products is still lacking, which makes it difficult for the Department of Agriculture to market agricultural products directly to the public. With this information system, it is hoped that it will help the agricultural office in the Bojonegoro city area to record the harvests of farmers in the Bojonegoro area precisely and accurately. The making of this information system is assisted by using the prototype method. This research produces an information system that can manage data on agricultural products in the Bojonegoro area which will be managed by the Bojonegoro Food and Agriculture Security Service.

Abstract

This paper entitled “A Study on the Students’ Understanding in Guessing Synonym Word of the Eighth Grade Students at SMP Negeri 2 Mandau”. The research is a descriptive research, intended to know students understanding in guessing synonym word of the eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Mandau. The subject of this research is the eighth grade student of SMP Negeri 2 Mandau. The object of this research is the students understanding in guessing synonym word. The population of this research is the eighth grade student of SMP Negeri 2 Mandau. There is eight class of population. Total numbers of students are 320.The researcher uses the Simple Random Sampling. From eighth classes, the researcher takes two random classes as sample. The sample is class VIII.1 and VIII.2. Total of the sample is 80 students. The result of this research showed that students understanding in guessing synonym word of the eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Mandau falls to good level. This can be seen on the results of the test conducted by the researcher. The researcher got the total score of the whole students is 5600. So, the average score of the students is 70. Based on the score above, students understanding in guessing synonym word of the eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Mandau falls to good level.

Abstract

Based on the researcher observation, it was found that most of the students have difficulties in finding factual information of the text. The major problem faced by them was found have difficulties in finding the main idea of the text, So the writer was interested in carrying out the research about this problem. The objective of the research is to find out Students’ reading comprehension before taught by using Mental imagery strategy to find out students’ reading comprehension after taught by using Mental imagery strategy and to find out significant effect of using Mental imagery strategy toward Students’ reading comprehension. The design of this research was Pre-Experimental. There are 6 class in SMP IT Mutiara Duri. The Population the eighth grade student in SMP IT Mutiara Duri is 181 students. The researcher will use one class, VIII.Syukur (31 students) as sample. The writer gave pre-test to experimental class. Then, the writer gave treatment for experimental class. Finally, the writer gave post-test to experimental class in order to know the effectiveness of Mental imagery strategy that applied by the writer. The technique of collecting data was the test. The technique of analyzing data, the writer adopted paired sample t-test formula by using software SPSS V.17. After analyzing the data, the writer found that there is a significant effect of using Mental imagery strategy toward Students’ reading comprehension at SMP IT Mutiara Duri.

Abstract

This paper entitled “The Effect of Using Gallery Tour Strategy toward Students’ Reading Comprehension at SMP N 5 Tanah Putih”. The objectives of the research is to find out the significant effect of using gallery tour strategy on the students’ reading comprehension at the eighth grade students of SMP N 5 Tanah Putih. This research is an experimental research. The design of this research is quasi experimental design, which uses two groups. The population of this research is the whole students of eighth grade students of SMP N 5 Tanah Putih. There are three classes that consist of VIII.1, VIII.2, and VIII.3. The total population is 100 students. The classes chosen are VIII.1 as the experimental class and VIII.3 as the controlled class. Each class consists of 34 and 33 students so the total of the sample is 67 students. The result of the research is there is significance effect of using gallery tour strategy toward the students’ reading comprehension of the eighth grade students of SMP N 5 Tanah Putih. It is gotten because of t-test is bigger than t-table = 12.935 is bigger than 2.0315 in degree of significance 5%, it could be concluded that Ha3 is accepted. In other words, There is significant effect of pre-test and post-test mean scores of using gallery tour strategy in experimental group. It means that there is a significant effect between pre-test and post-test mean score on students’ reading comprehension of the eighth grade students of SMP N 5 Tanah Putih.
